    Truer words were never spoken ... "As soon as the dealer gets your money ... ". I learned that when I bought my RV. The whole PDI experience was a sham as was trying to get any warranty or repair work. I stopped going to my selling dealer after the first year warranty was expired and haven't returned in four years.
    Some excellent video tips from both Part 1 & Part 2. I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to share your experiences and tips with the rest of us.
    I have to admit when you showed that there was no vacuum bag on your vacuum system ... I just had to smile and shake my head. Your dealer should be ashamed and embarrassed ... but them again ... I guess they already got your money, so do they really care???

    • @GreatEscape24
      @GreatEscape24  8 лет назад +3

      There should be some sort of law or website that these dealers are names & shamed as they do not deserve you money and it's only when it starts affecting their profits that they may do something about it.

    I second the walkie talkies. I listen to nobody but my wife. She knows the directions that I want and understand.

      We have used this system for years and have never ever had a problem. It's funny because all of these people ae waving directions to me and I only follow Julias commands, we even have a back up system incase the batteries go flat

      Great Escape People say they use phones. I've been to places there was no signal. No signal, no phone. Walkie Talkies always work.

      Until calls between phones became free, this wasn't an option. Especially for us as this would have been an International call.

    Hello Glen... We have had a motorcoach built. It's taken approx. four months to build. We will pick our new coach up soon. We are very excited! We are in the market for the very best surge protector (hard wired of course) I really appreciate that you guys appreciate wonderful great quality products as my husband and I do as well. So I would love to get your opinion on this very important safety device. We really enjoy all your videos! Please keep them coming! If at all possible, more often please! You guys keep me smiling!! Looking forward...........

      After a lot of research we went for the progressive industries fixed unit as this offers exactly what an RV needs, protection from low /hight voltage and surge protection. I also think I'm correct in saying that should the unit fail due to a surge that they will change it Free of charge. Also really easy to install. Hope this helps

    Same thing happen to me with the Dirt Devil, there were no bag in it. I noticed dirt been blown inside the storage compartment so I decided to change the bag. LOL looked just like yours did. Great videos, very informative but to be honest you got me all scared about Entegras with some of your problems. I have a Fleetwood 2015 Excursion and so far not a major problem yet.

    So, because of your video series, where you have offered some incredible tips, I have decided to go with the Entegra Cornerstone. A couple of other videos from other RUclips channels also helped, but yours really drove the decision home, so first off, thank you for taking the time to do the video series and offer such helpful tips.
    My biggest concern now is with warranties and service. It appears that even though you love your coach, you haven't seemed to get the kind of service that this price point should get. Can you offer tips on that? Obviously, I know DON'T expect much from the selling dealer, and do research on the dealer as well, or they will gut you on the price as they did to you from a post I read from you below. Any considerations you would have on this would be truly appreciated.
    Finally, I really appreciate all the video shots were you are driving and recording the road ahead, and where you are recording your unit moving on roads. No one does shots like that and I am interested in how the unit looks when it rolls down the road. Meaning does it look cumbersome when on a narrow twisty road, or does it look like it has performance features that help it move through those turns gracefully and with ease. Also, do you experience any shoulder or arm fatigue while driving long distances and through heavy winds?

    • @GreatEscape24
      @GreatEscape24  8 лет назад

      Well first of all well done on choosing an Entegra if you are one of the lucky ones you'll only have 50-70 initial faults most of which will be fairly east to fix. If you are one of the many then you will spend a large part of your first year having things repaired. I think that the product is sound but sadly lacking in attention to detail. As for warranty this seems to be pretty good apart form the fact that you will probably have the same job repaired 3-4 times before that actually fix it. I delivered our RV to a dealer in Tucson (Lazydays) on the 23rd May and it's now the 14th July and they still haven't managed to get approval on all of the warranty issues. The waiting list to get your RV to Entegra in Middlebury is from what I hear around 6 months. I really would try and find a good dealer locally who will work with you on the warranty stuff as this may be your quickest route. Forget RVOne they are absolutely terrible, once they have your money you will be ancient history.
      As for driving, it's a piece of cake and very soon you'll be driving the RV likes it's a car (see our video of Julia driving for the first time). Very easy to drive and very quite. I WOULD TAKE YOUR RV TO A LUBE SHOP AND HAVE IT COMPLETELY GREASED FROM ONE END TO THE OTHER as these RV chassis have no grease at all. Cross winds aren't a problem at all, just keep your speed to around 50 MPH
      Have you ordered one or still thinking about it?

    • @memberofthetribe1
      @memberofthetribe1 8 лет назад

      Well...now that is interesting that you ask that. First, my plan is to buy a unit in the next four months. I was originally going to order my unit, but a trusted source told me that I wold not be able to take advantage of the huge savings that I could get from certain dealers that buy these units in quantity. This was also confirmed by a salesman at one of the large scale RV dealers that I spoke to.
      Lately, I have been more concerned with the fact that Thor has now purchased Jayco. The biggest reason that I had decided on Entegra was because they were family owned. While, i am a single guy, I have a belief that family owned products are better made products due to the fact that the family is somewhat accessible should something go wrong. If i wanted a Thor product, I would have bought a Thor product. I get a little ....no A LOT nervous when a manufacturer whose product isn't as good purchases a company whose product is better. So, I have to admit that I am nervous. Been considering my original choice which was a Realm, but now that puts me back in the $600k territory. sigh....
      I really like your videos, and please continue with all of the tips that you both offer. They will allow a newbie like me to start off with a good experience. I'm already creating to do lists and check off lists on my laptop. What is the benefit to greasing the chassis? (I will do it, just wondering about what it does). Appreciate the dealer tip. What's funny is every time I have told someone that I am buying an RV, they have always said, "DO NOT GO TO RVOne!" I have never asked for their opinion, they just offer that up, and you are the latest, soooo....no RVOne for me!

    • @GreatEscape24
      @GreatEscape24  8 лет назад

      The reason I mention the grease is that Entegra are not greased when they arrive and several people have said this and mine was/is no exception, maybe the problems I am having is due to lack of grease. So my advise is either get the dealer to confirm that they have completely grease your rv or take it to a lube shop. It will be worth what ever the cost.

      WOW ! That was one quick reply! LOL Must have caught you sitting at your computer. Do you have a brand name for them or who you purchased them from. BTW: If you're ever in the SE (Florida) during the 'Love Bug' season your Norwex Scrub cloth will certainly get a workout ... or wear out. The best product I have found for cleaning Love Bugs (they are a very nasty, and plentiful during their mating season twice a year here) off of our windshields is called 'Bugs-B-Gone' made by a company called Seafoam.

  • @jbfvango1749
    @jbfvango1749 8 лет назад

    That Norwex Cloth you used to remove bugs from the front grill area and windshield was a product I would like to try, being in South Texas bug splatter on the front of our vehicles is a problem. You mentioned in the video able a link to get more information but I did not see it. Would you be kind to provide the link to me> Thank you, and enjoy your stay in Arizona.

    I'm not sure if I should thank you for your tips regarding the bug removal cloth! I Google "Norwex" and it turned out it's a Norwegian company with a lot of household equipment. I called them and got a full package of all kinds of stuff to a good price. Yes the bug cloth works incredible well, but now my wife force me to do all floors in the house with the new tools "since it was my idea" so since YOU tricked me into this, you better help me out!

      Hi Ralph,
      I think I used a 2 gallon tank purchased from lowes or home depot but the size of the tank doesn't really matter the bigger the tank the more water you will have before your pump will kick in. Here a link I found that may help: wannabrv.akom.net/archives/12-RV-Expansion-Tank-Installation-in-the-trailer.html the only real consideration is the space it takes up. Let me know if you need any diagrams of how to install this.

    I like the others enjoy your videos. I am interested in thee quiet ride of the entegra but I would like to know what you do to make the ride quiet as far as all the stuff you have in the cabinets, ie as the dishes, the cups etc

    • @GreatEscape24
      @GreatEscape24  8 лет назад

      The ride on the road is incredible, I have never experienced anything like it, now I'm a person that can not stand anything that rattles or squeaks so Julia places a thin piece of packaging that came with the plates or you could use thin polystyrene which you can buy on a roll. Everything in our RV is insulated from touching something else so it's so quite it's great.

    Again, another great video. Need more of your travels too. Also, something I have noticed being an Englishman living in America. I would have thought you audience is going to be predominately US based. The dialect you use though is the Queens English. Tap, Central Heating, Toilet, Spanner. Now some American folk might not get what your saying. I use Spanner all the time and just get blank looks :) You might want to also use the american word too, i.e. Faucet, Furnace, Bathroom, Wrench. You may also not give a flying hoot :) Just thought I would make the comment. No malice meant.

    You mentioned platinum membership for TT, but when I go to their page you can only select two zones for $549. Is that the Platinum membership price you are referring to? That price gives you also the 30 days free you are referring to?

    • @GreatEscape24
      @GreatEscape24  8 лет назад

      TT Membership can cost you anything from $2,500 to $10,000 for the membership itself and then you pay $549 per year, you can then sell it on as and when you want to, so it's fully transferrable.
