Well, it performed about as good as I thought it would. Granted, I was impressed to see it slice through a Gatorade bottle though. 😁I think your assessment of the knife is spot on. Thanks for sharing and Cheers!

Let's face the facts, this is a weapon, not a field utility tool. This knife is superbly designed for combat situations. Pretty sure that most bayonets, swords, and daggers would not rate as good "choppers". This knife will strip wire, dig out things that require digging out, open up an MRE pack, pry open anything "stuck", and stab the shit out of the enemy. TOPs does make many great tools for setting up camp. Feel good about buying one of those if you need a lot of shaved wood, or batoned kindling. If you absolutely, positively need to kill an enemy close up and personal like, this is your baby.

You are correct. The original edge was terrible, I remember really not liking it at first. While I keep forgetting about it, a knife that’s very comparable with a better geometry and comfortable at chopping is a knife I just leave in my truck. A Schrade schf38. Not as cool, but the design works well “Sharpened Prybar”...looking forward to seeing your progression with the Tops MR.

The Tops Apache Warrior is similar in design but in my opinion it has a better handle. But it too has a thick edge, I had to regrind the edge for it to be a usuable "fighter".

I don’t remember the result clearly but I do remember using that large lanyard slot to wrap the pommel multiple time’s with Paracord just to continue using it once.

As long as you don't expect a Tops knife to cut anything, you'll be fine. 😂

I’m not understanding this comment. All my tops knives cut amazing.

The knife will definitely not fit my hands, being triple x hands. Basically when purchasing gloves I need to find the largest ones. Not by what the tag says but the one the xl people try on the most (prestreached ) . Also they are usually the most expensive ones so people try them on but never goes home with anyone.
    Sorry about the rant.😊

When you figure ontario knife is only $50 with 1070 a much tougher steel is the Tops knife really worth $150 .
Not to me. But I don't have any use for that style knife.
It's to thick to cut good an to short to be a real defense knife.
Really hard to beat a machete especially a 12 to 14 inch one.
