One tradition that used to exist in the Royal Navy (and I am a long time left now) along similar lines was that if the ship was at sea on Christmas Day or otherwise when it was Christmas Lunch day before going on leave, the Officers would serve the Christmas Dinner to the ratings. It was a bit of fun but also a mark of respect for the work done in the past year. I love these kind of things, it sets a tone and a standard.
Managed a Boys football team in Birmingham many years ago (3c,s) we had a lad who had just signed schoolboys forms with Man u. The night of the yearly awards all the lads turned up in there shell suits! Yes it was that long ago! anyway this young man turned up in his Man u suit and he looked the smartest kid by a country mile. I will never forget that evening parents and kids were just in awe of him and the way he conducted himself.
Tom does a really good job of reminding guests and Ben to explain to viewers what certain insider terms, etc mean and thank god because we'd be all clueless and not be able to follow!
Arsenal did this for years. For reasons unexplained it's been ditched. Started to fade away under Wenger. All Arsenal players were issued with the Arsenal Blazer. Arsenal captain chooses sleeve length. Idea being all the players look the same. Been in place since the 60s when short sleeve introduced. Another thing ditched under Wenger.
Talking about being professional respectful and dare I say even humble all these descriptions that have been said about Harry Kane on his arrival of Bayern Munich, so I don’t know whether he got these values from his parents or Tottenham or maybe a bit of both?
The greatest gift they are given is bucket loads of money and the promise that they never have to work another day in their life. Fake an injury if you don't feel like actually showing up, we'll still renew your contract because we don't want to sell you at a loss, do we, no, that would make us look like we have no idea what we're doing. Throw in a performance or 2 in the last year of your contract and we'll double your wages.
That is why Sancho doesn't work at United. You can't have bad influences creeping in. Not sure about Anthony, he has realised that this club is way, way bigger than he realised. He has set himself a list of personal targets this season, hopefully he can learn the United way. If not he will have to leave.
Interesting but clearly this doesn’t impact on performance. Players need to show far more respect for the history of the club when they are on the pitch
He goes on about young lads helping the club since World War and the Munich disaster but where are the youth players now because there's only 1 maybe 2 coming through and thats in the past 5 years
He's speaking about on and off the field. We let go of some u21s past few years and they've done very well, people forget top flight football is still the dream and they get to live it. Yeah most dont make it at United but their experience gives them the ability to do well elsewhere. U18's are very promising, but its not just ability that drives em, it's the conduct and maturing which is something that's extremely done well.
Man utd biggest problem is the players are earning alot of things they doesn't deserve that's why they are inconsistent they have no goals to achieve no high standards
Manchester United have had an academy player involved in every matchday squad since January 1937, that's 86 years worth of academy players..and you can name 3 to counter his point, one of which isn't even an academy player.....I see .
Great. They can worry about suits and elocution while they get trampled on the field. The academy is not producing players, the first team is a dumpster fire, and the stadium is crumbling. The club is literally the meme of the cartoon dog saying “Everything is fine” while everything around him is on fire.
Come on foz this is the biggest load ov crap I've heard I can't think ov one player that conducts himself in the right way at United or are even humble bad attitudes everyone one of them and say it a honor to even wear that blazer with that crest on it shame the players don't have honor when they put kit on with that badge on you can see why that club fails absolutely deluded anyone connected to that club
A good friend's son has gone to Watford this season from another well known club. Not a player either and I've seen the vids he got made to sing in front of the whole first team set up🤣🤣 Not good😂
Ah mate I love interviews with our guy. He’s got our youth smashing it. ❤
nick softly spoken lovely bloke, you can tell he really cares
Love to see Nick thriving. He used to work at Oaklands college when I was there. Top top top guy. Excellent work
In st.albans?
@@robertflanagan1364 yep
@@therealJohnSmith cool I love there. Next to the college

Nick Cox really knows his stuff. What a gem he is and we're lucky to have him at utd.
This guy sounds like he could be steve bruce's son 😂
Quality love the fozcast!!!!
It was a gift to all Utd fans when he left!!!!
Giggs and Greenwood.
Don't forget Morrison and Pogba, Lingard too
Mickey Thomas went to prison
For every Giggs and Greenwood, there's probably a few dozen Scholes & Neville's, that want to work hard and do right by their family.
@@Pibikhen yes but every club has them but no adulterers and wife beaters.
Man U set the standard for sure
Italy been doing this for years club and country
The blazer and suit trousers was something that Alex Ferguson introduced. He copied Rangers, by his own admission.
Come on the foz cast!!!

Yet your 1st team have no standards whatsoever happened there then
The academy is run by excellent people like Nick Cox and the first team is run by bankers like Richard Arnold and Ed Wodward to put it simply.
Nick Cox. Wow

Ryan Giggs is a good example of how well the players behave 🤦♂️
The first match I ever watched was Giggs debut. Great player and person.
@@matthewirwin6134yeah proper sound fella ain’t he. Never gets involved in dodgy business
This why we should get greenwood back.
He was at man united but he wasn't outside in short he was loyal to man united on the field but a split personality off the field
And they guarded him. Tried to make sure he wasn't another George Best.@@Doggomorph
All these things have been a part of rugby union, even at lower levels, since the beginning of time. Only right too 👍
Loved the podcast, so I will not be watching the video but I will…drop a like
Any chance of Antony and Sancho getting those lessons

They may look great but it’s a shame the way some of the young players conduct themselves is not so great
Interesting but clearly this doesn’t impact on performance. Players need to show far more respect for the history of the club when they are on the pitch
Everyone is saying Giggs but they forget Scholes, Butt, Beckham, Neville borthers, Wes Brown, Garnacho, Mainoo
David Beckham’s boot disagrees 🎯
nick sold the club a million times better than richard or john could ever do!!
Now United need that to happen in their own locker room. High wage players have run club for a decade.
Hmm.. your opening statement is a generalisation at best because how do you explain Mason Greenwood?
Players that are rapist players who go out to hurt another player.players who kick fans players who are late players who leave at half time.
he looks like a b-tec mma fighter
He goes on about young lads helping the club since World War and the Munich disaster but where are the youth players now because there's only 1 maybe 2 coming through and thats in the past 5 years

Almost every single club approaches academy football/development by focusing on social development of young players. Any club worth its salt does it.
Man utd biggest problem is the players are earning alot of things they doesn't deserve that's why they are inconsistent they have no goals to achieve no high standards
You can just tell Utd players conduct themselves professionally, I mean look at Giggs, Greenwood, and Antony just to name a few!
Giggs 😂😂 only thing he was conducting was his brothers wife
What about the past 100 years?
Selective memories the keyboard warriors have
Manchester United have had an academy player involved in every matchday squad since January 1937, that's 86 years worth of academy players..and you can name 3 to counter his point, one of which isn't even an academy player.....I see .
ok so you can only name 2 out of the tens of thousands of academy players there's been since the 30s 🤷♂
what about Mason Greenwood?
Explain Mason Greenwood then lads?
The "victim" and he are still together and have a kid. Move on, they have.

The academy isn’t producing players??
This bloke is deluded if he thinks his process is working😂😂😂😂😂.
Can the other bloke speak up

I think you forgot about Paul Scholes mate . Model pro for club and country . I’m not a utd fan but you have to respect scholes though

Greenwood’s another good example
Why does Nick whisper every time he talks? Does he think he's in a library?
