As someone who practice both arts. (One of them slightly more recent) I must say both of them did really well. Look at the joy their faces when they are trying something new or teaching as well. Makes me want to join them too. This is what martial arts is all about respecting each other arts. Not tearing down and saying one is better other unlike some. Great video. Nicely done!
As a life-long Judo practitioner, I respect all striking arts. I've never thrown a punch in anger, only in the ring or cage. TKD kicks are flashy and they work. I prefer Muay Thai and JKD. Mainly, because I am not flexible enough to land head kicks. This was a really fun video.
Esto es lo que amo de las artes marciales, ver a diciplonas diferentes trabajar juntas para aprender y crecer, no para separarse y a su vez separar a las personas.
This was an unexpected pleasure to watch - two black belts teaching each other the basics of their respective sports, in a friendly & respectful way. From the title I thought it was going to be like a 1990s UFC match, like "Judo's the best!" "No, TKD's the best!" *FIGHT!!!* - instead I think both came away with an appreciation of both the sport they got a glimpse of and their opposite number's skill at it.
I do Taekwondo and I reapect the Judo’s martial arts. My goal is to try to learn a lot of other martial arts such as Judo, Karate, Kung Fu, Mma and other

As a (traditional)Jiu Jitsu practitioner with an Aikido history I am not very good with kicks and throws, but I am trying my best. The Judo-ka did quite well at kicking in my opinion, probably because he did something alike in the past (can't understand french, so didn't get if it was mentioned in the conversation). The TKD-fellow had more problems with the throws, but my point is that: I didn't understand the conversation, there was nothin spectacular to this vid and the basics I have seen here wheren't really new to me, but still I sticked to it the whole time. These guys had obviously so much fun together that it was a pleasure for me to watch. And that is what martial arts should be all about. Exchanging knowledge, learning from each other and developing. I hate these conversations where everyone is stating that "their" martial art is the best and everything else is shitty. Cool stuff...and at that point my respect to every martial art practitioner in the world that devotes himself to his form and treats everyone with respect!
I'm glad they are having fun and sharing what they love to each other but I wouldn't title the video judo vs tkd because people will still think this is real TKD and this is the Olympic version of the traditional TKD.
Respect for Twdo guy as he performs uci mata very well, although it is one of the most difficult throws in judo in my opinion. It doesn't matter which martial art you do, as long as you belong to the top 20% in it. However my t-shirt sais: "judo is life, the rest is just detail" ❤
Very good video Taekwondo looks really good but can't kill a person but Judo can do easily I myself was a Taekwondo student and now I am learning Judo. I believe Judo is very a effective (deadly at will) self defense martial art.
It doesn't matter do you wrestle, box, karate, judo, jiu jitsu or taekwondo, because the better fighter wins. A good boxer can't be taken down easily and a good wrestler can cover himself from strikes. This is what people usually don't understand. Because of this, argument that some martial art is better than another is invalid.
I do TaeKwonDo and Wrestling, 7 years of TKD, 4 years of wrestling. Now I just need to add BJJ and Boxing so I don’t get choked out and popped in the head.
@@counterkidnapping1737 Wrestlers can still get taken down lol. I was watching an MMA fight on TV a couple days ago. It was in Russia and It was between this Wrestler from Dagestan which from what the commentators were saying he was pretty well known in that promotion. With the other guy being some unknown BJJ blackbelt from Brazil. They predicted this was going to be a quick fight because nobody knew who he was. most of the fight was on the feet and you could tell that neither of them really put a lot of time in that area compared to their grappling. Then halfway through the round the BJJ Blackbelt shot a quick double leg after he threw a strike combination that missed and took the Dagestani wrestler down. From that point you could tell the wrestler was very uncomfortable from off his back and wasn't able to do anything. His guard eventually got passed and then he was mounted around the last minute of the round. The wrestler turned his back and got flattened out then was finished with strikes. Considering the fact that the guy was from Dagestan and he was doing pretty well in the promotion it wasn't just because he was a bad wrestler or something like that. You'll even see stuff like this in the UFC as well. DC was an Olympic Wrestler but was taken down by Jon Jones 3/5 times in their first fight while DC was only able to take Jones down 1/8 times. Going off wrestling credentials alone DC should have been able to beat Jones easily in the wrestling aspect of MMA. And yes even though Jones and DC are professional athletes this still relates to your comment. Why? Because you believe the common narrative that "Well this guy is a wrestler and this other guy is a [Insert other style here] which means the wrestler isn't going to get taken down and he can take the other fighter down at any time he wants" Wrestling is obviously a good thing to have but eventually someone will end up taking you down whether he is Another Wrestler Judoka BJJ fighter Sambo guy MMA fighter And as we know if you get taken down as a wrestler and can't scramble out right away then you're screwed because you don't know how to fight off your back. I'm not even going to talk about all the ways you could get screwed up because of submissions but you get my point by now I hope. So yeah this guy wanting to take BJJ and Boxing to add onto his experience as a fighter is better then just taking Boxing because the more styles you know the better.
my problem with tkd is that they focus on points more than the actual kicking that's why thier kicks a weak compared to the old school tkd while judo still has it's power and speed
