Developed by Eden Games and published by Atari, Test Drive Unlimited was released for PC in March, 2007. Test Drive Unlimited lets you live it up in Hawaii. Its blending of lifestyle sim and racing make it a fun, immersive, and unique game.

Man, it's such a good and fun game. Definitely ahead of its time. The fact that there's still a pretty big community around it (including people that revived multiplayer) is impressive on its own.

Mark from CGR is still my favorite game reviewer. I miss when he did modern reviews. But when I first got my ps3 and psp in 2010 he was so helpful
I've played this and Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition Remix for literally hundreds of hours back in the day. Very fun and immersive games.
Pretty excited about the new upcoming Test Drive game, although there's a feeling that they don't make games like this anymore.
while i never like the graphics nor physics of this and TDU 2, the extra shit tlike buying houses and living a luxury lifestyle makes you actually wanna race and get a lot money. Its a weird feeling that I hadn't felt since I played the fist Gran turismo and found that you can tune the cars. I think this combined with some actually good racing physics in the upcoming TDU 3/solar crown, could make for an amazing game.

I loved this game, used to play it religiously when it came out. It's basically the precursor to Forza horizon.
TDU is simply my best gameplay Progression experience I've ever played

Classic game room single handily got me into games heavily when we first got internet (I was in middle school at the time haha some cgr videos are so old; i literally just graduated college). God I wish Mark still made the series, I dont think he even reviews third party comics on youtube anymore (wasn't a fan of his comic review format).
I loved this game and I loved that they did the satellite mapping thing for the map, but my biggest grievance is the road is bumpy as hell. They did a real shit jump of smoothing out the map, and it really shows when you're driving around the mountains and craters. Outside of that though, this game was ahead of it's time where we've got Forza Horizon, that is missing features this one had that I wish it did. And 2 was soooo much better.

Tbh I kinda like the quietness of this review. And in some weird way I think it immersed me more into the game. Sometimes music depending on tastes can turn you off a game.
You should definitely review TDU Platinum.
I grew up on this and TDU2, and I still play them to this day.

Anyone who has this game should try the TDU Platinum mod, it's a whole nother experience.
Agree 100% a great idea but the implementation needs work. Let’s hope we get a new Test Drive someday.

I think I remember playing the 360 version for a bit and the graphics were def better than the PC (atleast as far as my mind remembers)

I really liked this game, unfortunately the online doesnt work anymore so i'd get stuck in the menu for the first race since it would never start

@@kupokinzyt It's a standalone mod that combines campaigns, operators, levels and weapons of over 7 rainbow six games. Give it a go, it's standalone (no need to own the base game) and pretty fun.

TDU is basically Forza Horizon but before they exist
This game was completely broken on my modern gaming laptop it looked nothing like this lol looks like I'm sticking with the PS2 version!! Worse frame rate but least playable for me
I hope they make more freeroam driving games like this. Yeah, Forza Horizon exists but it doesn't give me the same feel this game did and the online play was horrible
