As a kid The Sonic Adventure games were honestly one of the first games that made me see games as an art form instead of just as a form of entertainment like the ending of Sonic Adventure 2 is still one of my favorite endings ever. The 2000s era of Sonic despite being very hit and miss in some aspects is an era of the Sonic series i hold dear to my heart.
Its great to have two different voices on these games in the same video because I feel like you both flow well into each other while talking about your opinions on the gameplay and impact these games and reactions to them had on sonic as a whole. Looking forward to the next part!

Sonic Adventure 2 was my second game on the gamecube. I sold my GC collection lately but I couldn't part with SA2. It was the first game I struggled so much to 100%. Those damned 181 emblems. I should replay it again.

Adventure 2 was my first Sonic game. I was a Nintendo kid but I watched that not so good Sonic animated show (the Sonic Says one) and I liked Sonic.
It was pretty fun. Yeah, it has some issues but it remains one of my favorite gaming memories and replay it at least once a year.

God, I remembered having a story book called Sonic X-treme when I was in grade school.

While Chao Garden doesn't exactly suck, it's really annoying how the second game forces it on you. Which is the same thing I can say about all the extra characters. I LOVE the Sonic campaign in the original Sonic Adventure (expect for the boss battles), but I can't stand the extra characters with the exception of Tails. I always appreciated how the first game let me play only the parts of it that I like. In Sonic Adventure 2 every Sonic level is sandwiched between Mech-Tails and Knuckles + the Chao Garden, and I just can't progress through the game like that.
1:03:17 TBH I don't like how the mocap in SA2's cutscenes look, with characters with these cartoony proportions it doesn't look right.
Realistic people flailing around like this wouldn't look good either. Doesn't help that I hate Adventure 2 character models. I honestly think 06 cutscenes look better despite also having mocap problems. Still, mocap is better than characters just standing there like in most of Frontiers.
Compared to SA1, I think it works better. But perhaps the technology was so new to them, that SA1's cutscenes just couldn't look better than stiff, lifeless puppets.

There's not enough evidence to say Naka was tryin to steal anythin & he's not in jail he jus had to pay a fine it wasn't that serious
Nah don't try to defend Naka, literally everyone else who has worked with him publicly said he was an asshole. With Peter Moore famously told him to "fuck off" when Naka rejected evidence of public opinion that SEGA was a dying company in the early 2000's.
I don't trust what that man says at all. Especially now that he has a criminal record.
@@SonicKick Blindly beleivin anythin u hear cus of ur bias doesn't help anyone. There was only 1 person who ever stated he wanted to take anythin & their knowledge was limited. It's not bout "defendin Naka" it's bout keepin fax straight. There's a whole vid that goes over the entire thing but since youtube doesn't like it I can't link. U should be able to find it. It's over a hour long iirc
@@nightlydata2181 I've heard it straight from people who worked with him, as stated in the video. Even back in 2016 I gave him the benefit of the doubt, AND when he was making Balan. But everything since then came out, including his public outrage at Ohshima, the Geist Force devs coming out, Peter Moore, and his insider trading (AKA COMMITING A FELONY), why would you trust ANYTHING Naka says?!
I'm not going to go look for a RUclips video as someone who already spent time actually interviewing people who worked with him, AND worked together to do our research on the subject matter. It isn't blind belief when you notice repetitive behavior from someone that hasn't improved since the fuckin 90s.
