    HI!! I asked about your burnisher. I can't find the one you have, but I found one called the RSVP clear 49mm Espresso Tamper Stainless Steel.
    "Like the one you have, it has the rounded edges which is what I was specifically looking for.
    The Cuisipro 6 inch coffee tamper also seems to have the rounded edge.
    Doing my obsessive research, the type of tamper that would work best as a burnisher seems to be what is called a C-Flat base. This tamper has curved edges and a flat center. Other types are called euro curve and American curve, but honestly, the C-Flat base seems to be the best.

      @@seanabettencourt3751 If I have helped, I am glad to have been of service. And I just want to thank you for your innovative use of scrap clay.
      It sometimes horrifies me, watching other arts, what I see as the waste, and I think that's why I love watching clay making vids so much, because there is no such thing as waste. Everything can be used, and this is a new way of using it for me, and I am already enthralled by your work!

    I love how you do them....I like that they are double sided. I have been backing the sheets in black but it doesn't give it a nice clean finish. I will try it without backing the sheets first. Thanks for your video!

      @@surrayahsjewels make sure the edges touch and then burnish. You can feel when everything is smooth through the paper. If you don't have the edges close enough before you burnish, it will distort. I hope that helps

      The trick is even slices. If you don't have a cane slicer, you need to be right over your work. I couldn't show that in the video because the camera was in the way. Position it so you are looking straight down.

      Lol. I thought you were commenting on the other video. The swirl does take a little practice. And patience. Just go slow and let the clay set the pace. Sometimes it takes me longer than I want to get it to go around.

    • @seanabettencourt3751
      @seanabettencourt3751  3 года назад +1

      Not too much pressure. You don't want to distort it. Start with a light pressure and if it doesn't seal together well, do it again with a slightly heavier pressure until you get the feel for it.

    I was just wondering about the super-glue and then baking. I know it’s in between layers of polymer clay but does it not emit fumes? Is it safe to bake?

    • @seanabettencourt3751
      @seanabettencourt3751  8 месяцев назад

      Thank you.
      I'm not sure about the super glue fumes. I was told many years ago that the brand I use was good in the oven and I never questioned it. I'm not worried about it because the amount of glue used is so small and it is sealed in between the clay. But I understand it is very important not to expose ourselves to too many chemicals.
