Scrapscape Polymer Clay Tutorial
Просмотров 26 тыс.3 года назад
Hi, I’m Seana from the Polymer Garden. I hope you enjoy my first tutorial. You can check out my creations at www.polymergarden.com This is a great technique to use up some scraps.
Quite enjoyable! Now I'm headed to my studio to try. Thanks for the tutorial ❤
@@hollyabshier8654 thanks. I'm glad you like it.
Love this whole technique, great manipulation of the tissue cutter, very useful, thank you for sharing!
@@cabacou1945 I'm glad you like it.
I love this. I have been looking for a tutorial for a beautiful swirl pendant
@@brie1987 I'm glad you like it.
I’m so glad I found you… and your beautiful work 💜💜💜
Thank you so much!
whats the name of that ruler with diffrent witdh markins
I believe it is called a marks it or something like that. Donna Kato used to make it but I don't think she does anymore. Sorry I don't k ow where to get them now.
does the cutting mat you are using have a special name?
It is for scrapbooking. I'm not home right now but I will look up the name when I get home. I think it is something like tonic?
I would like to have that tool you used to burnish please
I wish I could find more. So many people have asked for it. The place I got it doesn't carry it anymore. It is a coffee tamper. I can't find any in the same shape but there are some pretty good ones out there
I love the results! Very pretty.2 questions Where did you get the Stainless burnishing tool? What do you call it ? Also where did you get that gray measuring cane That you showed on the video? What is it called ? Thanks!
Hi, I'm so glad you liked it. Unfortunately, the place where I got the burnisher no longer carries them or I'm not even sure they are in business anymore. I have looked for these everywhere but can't find this exact one. I do know it is called a coffee tamper.
The gray measuring tool I believe is called a marks it or it sounds like that. It was made my Donna Kato but I don't think she sells them anymore either. Sorry.
Still come back to watch in amazement for inspiration ❤
Thank you so much.
I love it
Thank you
This is amazing! Thank you!
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
These are so beautiful! I will definitely try to make these 😊 thank you for sharing this technique. I was just wondering about the super-glue and then baking. I know it’s in between layers of polymer clay but does it not emit fumes? Is it safe to bake?
Thank you. I'm not sure about the super glue fumes. I was told many years ago that the brand I use was good in the oven and I never questioned it. I'm not worried about it because the amount of glue used is so small and it is sealed in between the clay. But I understand it is very important not to expose ourselves to too many chemicals.
WOW! That’s impressive! I have to try this.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Wow, what a fun way to use up scraps! Can't wait to try it. P.s. Cool mat, what's it called? where did you get it?
Thank you so much. I got the mat at a retreat. Its glass and it is wonderful. I believe it is for scrapbooking. I believe the brand is tionic studios.
21:55 "I would take my blade and..." Woahhh Seana, don't do it, whatever it is you're gonna do! ^_~
J’adore cette technique 👏🏽 merci pour le partage. Je partage à mon tour dans mon groupe 😉
I'm glad you liked it.
I can’t wait to try this, you are so cute and I just really enjoyed this video that popped up while watching other’s polymer clay creations. I’m really glad I saw this video, it was so relaxing and educational at the same time. ❤❤❤❤❤ THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I liked you right off the pat, so I subscribed. I just loved you personality! ❤

Thank you.
🎉These are absolutely amazing!😊
Thank you, I'm glad you like it.
Nice job for your first. I love to clay, but I haven't tried doing videos.
How would you make a round bead with a scrapscape?
There are a couple if wats u would do it. First you can make a cylinder of scrap clay and wrap the scrapscape around it. Push in the ends a little and slowly pull the design in so it meets in the middle. Do that on both ends. Then you can slowly shape it into a round bead. The second would be to cover a form like a wooden bead. Make the veneer go around the middle of the bead. Make sure the veneer is not taller than your wooden bead. Cut little darts out of the edges and smooth down. There are videos out there on how to cover round objects in polymer clay. Like covering an ornament. Same process. I hope that helped.
Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I will try that out as I have a lot of veneers that would look lovely with your technique. I recently saw a post of someone that made some 13mm round beads with your scrapscape technique and they were beautiful.
Lovely... Where do you get your texture sponge?
I got it from Donna Kato but she doesn't have it on her site anymore. I think she posted about another product that was very similar she found on Amazon. I'm sorry I don't know the name of it. She posted about it about a month ago I believe.
@@seanabettencourt3751 I knew it had to be a Donna sponge. She can no longer get them... I did see her post about the other sponges... I have one that is actually an A/C filter. It works ok but its still not "holey" enough. LOL
Really really good job Seana!
Thank you!
Watching again!
Hello, I'm surprised to find you gone. Your tutorials are very clear and your voice is very pleasant. There must be a reason you are gone and I certainly hope it's not a bad one. I will continue to check your channel. Hope you are back soon. 2/4/2023
Not gone. Had a few health issues. I'll be back very soon. I have to set up the cameras again.
Magnífico tutorial! Muchas gracias por compartirlo.❤️🌹
Thank you!❤
Unbelievably gorgeous! 😊👍🌈
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it.
I’m having difficulty. When I cut a slice and turn it, I don’t see a clear pattern to match. I’m also using FIMO which I think is too soft.
Sometimes it is hard to see at first. Once you find a spot that matches, try to use the same spot every time. Does that make sense? Yes, if your clay is too soft, it will distort as you are separating it from the sheet. Just go slow or you can put in the refrigerator to cool it down and firm it up before you slice. I hope that helps.
I would love to know where you purchased your burnished from.
I purchased it over a decade ago and they don't carry it anymore. I keep looking for it other places so I can post the link but I haven't found it yet. All I know is it seems to be a coffee tamper. But old doorknobs work well too.
I did it. thank you for your video. I would send a pic but I don't know how to do that.
Awesome! I don't know how to send a picture either.
question are you turning your slices because mine are not looking like that. can you explain please.. you lost me.
Yes, you flip the slices forward and then back. If you take 2 slices and have one flipped forward and the next flipped back and put them together, you will see the pattern match up. Sometimes it takes a few to finally see a good pattern emerge.
What a fantastic use of your beautiful scrapscapes. Thank you! (What I would like to know is how your slice of black ended up 100% the perfect size to fit your scrapscape piece!) ;)
Love it! So beautiful and unique. I hope you start making more videos again.
Beautiful! Where did you get the burnisher?
They don't have them anymore but I believe it is just a coffee tamper.
Genius! It looks so much like Fairlsle Knitting pattern. I hope you do lots more tutorials. Thank you for sharing.
Thank YOU! Best instructions I have found for this pattern and I am actually excited about trying this!❤
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it.
Суппер!!!!👍
This is a great idea! Thank you! But you made it way more fiddly than it should have been. And it took forever for you to get there. Please edit more. Keep up the great ideas.
Please come back!! Do more!!!
I'm working on it. Hopefully soon.

Just finding this video. I enjoyed it very much and went looking for more by you. I hope you are well and that we will eventually see more. I was thinking Natasha-esque.. and also bargello. It looks so intricate but you broke down the process so it was easy to follow. Thank you.
