    I've had 4 fraxel treatments to help improve acne scars, so it was really deep, & painful. My Derm gave me a local to help tolerate the procedure. Afterwards it felt like I had burned my face on a toaster oven. I was also given a small fan that you gould squeeze a trigger & it would spray water on my face, that was so helpful to be able to tolerate the heat that I felt on my face the first night. I have to say, it was so worth having this done, It greatly improved my acne scars, & discoloration, as well as improved pore size, texture & gave an overall more youthful look to my skin. It took years off my 48 year old face. So happy your sharing your experience, for others to see. You look beautiful!

      +Dawn Dalrymple I've always wondered if anything could be done for my acne scars. I didn't notice them so much in my 30's but after 40 they seem to look worse every year!

    • @tuberdawn
      @tuberdawn 8 лет назад +10

      I had the same issue & I have to say the fraxel laser treatments have been life changing. For me it did take 4 sessions & I'd really like to have two more, but they are almost completly gone. It's an investment, but very much worth the down time, & cost. I have so much more confidence & besides helping with the scaring, I gained some firmness and my pigmentation issues are completely gone. I barley need any make up anymore because of the quality of my skin has improved so much & I've found using less make up even makes my skin look better too.

      +Dawn Dalrymple How long do the results last?

    • @tuberdawn
      @tuberdawn 8 лет назад +5

      For acne scars it is permanent results & gets better up to 6 months after you have it done as new collagen is made from the treatment. Your Derm will want to see how well your skin tolerates the treatment, so the following treatments get deeper if you react well to it. My treatments were very deep, so there is a certain level of wound care that was involved in the start of the healing process, but I was looking pretty good at day 7. They video shown is a great example of what happens, but if your doctor is going deeper, imagine it a little worse than what was shown.

    • @anastaciazara1787
      @anastaciazara1787 8 лет назад +3

      Oh wow, that's fantastic! I've always shied away from these treatments because I assumed the results only lasted a year or two at most. It's great to hear the results are permanent for acne scarring. I have some acne dimples on my temples and chin that aren't aging well, for lack of a better way to describe it. I'll talk to my derm at my appt. next month. Tyty!

    For all the ladies out there that are looking for a "EZ on the wallet" way to help with fine lines/wrinkles, acne, sun damaged or large pores skin treatment, I recommend trying a derma-roller(do your homework and get a good quality one) & a home use microdermabrasion kit (like PMD)! The PMD does a great job on removing dead skin & product build up and the derma-roller helps rebuild skin collagen to repair damaged skin(sun, aging or acne). You can get both of these for under 200.00 total. I've had great success with these products. Couple these with a good skin oil like Vita C, Vita E or Argan oil and you'll see a big difference! Please keep in mind that these are not a quick fix, it takes time to rebuild beautiful skin just like it took time to damage it(all though damage seems to come easier to do lol)! Best Wishes Ladies ;-)

    Hi Angei - I did a Obagi Blue Peel (TCA) with my plastic surgeon about a month ago. He didn't allow me to use anything on my skin except Aquaphor for two weeks (including sunscreen) because of a concern about my skin being sensitive to ingredients including fragrances. (I had to cover up with scarves and sunglasses and I wore a large hood when I walked my dogs.) The cost, Philly area (so, an also expensive location) was $800 and included a facial a week later to remove the remaining flaky skin. Like you I had the peeling commencing on the third day but the first day I looked like a character from Avatar. (Yes, I was blue.) I've had really good results and I feel that I could go out without wearing makeup. I'm going to continue to watch your journey with Fraxel - I think you've gotten good results! Isn't it amazing when the 'brown bits' come to the surface before sloughing off?

It's an awesome procedure. The recovery is. . .let's call it challenging! I suggest you set aside a good 14 days and don't rush it. I am still quite red on Day 8. My doctor recommended waiting as long as possible to apply makeup as it could create an infection.. I am 61 and happy I found your uplifting channel! Good luck and I am sure you will be thrilled with the results!

    So exciting, can't wait for the next video! I had Fraxel done too on my 43 year old skin to clear away some sun damage & to clear up my complexion, & I feel like my pores got slightly larger... My dermatologist said that's impossible, however I've seen some other reviewers mention it too. Let us know how that goes for you, you're looking great already though! My healing & peeling happened much slower, probably because of my hypothyroid/Hashimoto situation. Love your channel! 👍🏻😃

    With any laser treatment I've had (Gemini laser, Fraxel) and chemical peels (30% TCA-high powered 10 day recovery) I always try to eat pineapple the day before as well as use arnica tablets before/after to help with swelling and bruising. Post op I like Aquaphor as well as pure aloe to help with the redness, itching, and burning. Always ask your plastic surgeon what is best for your skin type and if it's okay to use. I have Ehler Danlos (a connective tissue disorder) so my swelling and redness is usually at least 3x what most people experience. Also, I can't express how important it is to do a test area because everyone's reaction is different. These tips really help keep the inflammation down (especially since I can't use steroids or NSAIDs) Your results look amazing :)

    The burning and peeling did freak me out a bit just because u can't see the end result. I'm glad u shared this so we can come the awesome end results. I'm curious if this procedure can have any bad results for the skin later on and what the cost is.

    You look fantastic!! Really looking forward to your next video about this Angie! I had one Fraxel treatment done about 10 years ago to improve acne scarring. My dermatologist recommended 4 treatments but I was only able to have one before I got pregnant with my first child. I would love to do it again now that I am also fighting sun damage and aging skin. Curious if you will need to do more treatments, or if the multiple passes eliminates the need for that.

    Question. I had Fraxel treatments when they first came out in 2008. And as they have done for you, the effects have lasted a good while! You look great! But, now that I’m almost 50, I’m starting to see more fine lines. I would like to go in and get something done. Have you heard of Ematrix? I’m getting it done next week, but I’m afraid I’m going be wasting my money and it might not do anything for me. I don’t know of anyone who’s had it done. Anyone?? I wasn’t quite sure I wanted to go the Fraxel route again, just because there was a lot of downtime for me afterward and I can’t miss any work at the moment.Thoughts?

    Looks AMAZING, Angie! Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm planning on this procedure, soon. I can see a big difference in the tightness and pigmentation on you. You're beautiful, but I'm certain this has given you a"boost".

    when i had my fraxel my plastic surgeon had me under for it. I looked nasty for a week,but OMG so worth it ! Discoloration gone,pores shrunk and over all looked much healthier.
    Also to help with discomfort he had me keep 4x4 gauze pads soaked with a vinegar and distilled water mix in fridge, and I would put those on several times a day to sooth and heal.

    Whoa! I don't know what all that lasor was supposed to do but it really lifted & firmed your skin. I can't wait to see your next vid on this. I'm 33 and of course, I'm noticing a lot of changes in my skin. I love learning about skin care & prevention. Your channel has been great for that. You must be doing something right because you keep growing younger by the year! XOXO

    So you got the photofacial then you did this? Should we do both? Which one of these do you think is better? Hope I’m making sense....

    Great! Thanks for showing the procedure. My Derm is having a Fraxel special as a kick off to the beginning of the year. I have been thinking it for a long time. I think I am going to take advantage of the special!

    Thanks so much for showing this Angie and for explaining each day how it felt. The dryness and redness is very similar to the Blue Light procedure I had for my pre-cancerous spots a few months back. There isn't the same amount of peeling as with Fraxel though. That's what I needed to see. My Plastic Surgeon said this is what I'd need for my acne scaring but I've always put it off due to price and down time. You look great! xo

    I am considering having this procedure done due to the unsightly 'smoker's mouth' and I DON'T SMOKE! Your video was incredibly helpful for me to see the post procedure healing that takes place and to hopefully plan for it. I'm a teacher, and this will be a huge splurge for me to help with this issue. Thank you!

    So with the dual laser does that mean they used both settings to where they hit the pigments and then they use the other for wrinkling and collagen ?? What setting did they use on you? I had both lasers done. Very disappointed in it. Bc the lady went lighter side bc she said she couldn’t do many passes bc I was using both lasers. So who knows

    You look great! I had Ultherapy last week. I looked into the fraxel treatment, but decided on the Ultherapy because my main goal was more about tightening and not so much helping with discoloration. I'm curious about why you chose the fraxel treatment.

    Nice video, giving a good head up on what to expect, day by day. I had a Fraxel treatment done this morning. The numbing cream was applied for just 30 minutes. The forehead hurt a lot. Curiously, several hours later, the face is not that red. It just feels a bit swollen. I’m slathering on Aquafor.
