My birth mother drank and took drugs during pregnancy, I was adopted ate age 1, my tip is to NEVER EVER GO NEAR substances when you’re pregnant. When I was born, I had twitches due to withdrawal of those substances and later on when I was 8/9 misdiagnosed with Autism and put into an autism unit and put on masses of drugs which was absolutely horrible and my parents sued the NHS. I’m pleased to say I’m almost 18 I have lost what small amount of physical and mental traits associated with the FAS. I was never there to witness what could’ve been an ethanol induced downfall from day one but my theory was I had exposure to it whilst I was in “negligible” stages of formation. Who knows how much she could’ve drank off camera 💔.

In my culture there's a test for 40 days before the marriage day. In that time they will be trained and tested, so they'll capable enough to take care each other and has a knowledge to build a family right way (parenthood is no joke). It sad that people nowadays don't value a peaceful home 😔

Most women when they feel contractions they brush their teeth shower, wash their hair. So they can feel fresh. And blow-dry it. Apply some lotion and powder if possible. And deodorant. And it ends there. Idk anyone who does make up like this during labor.
My nephew's late wife had full makeup and really thick long false eyelashes for labor. Actually she never went anywhere without doing that. I was in so much pain with my daughter that I honestly didn't care what I looked like. I was just glad to lose that urgency to pee every 5 minutes.

Other then the very large glass of wine i have no issue with the first one. Early labor pains are easy to deal with, and the best way to deal with it is distraction. Hey some people can judge but I have an aunt that did this same thing. I mean she didn't post on social media (mostly because it didn't exist back then) but she would stop and breath during her contractions and then go back to doing her makeup once they stopped. She went to the hospital completely made up and dressed up for the occasion. That's how some women are. I think it's therapeutic for some women. It's not really about looking good so much as giving them something to focus on other than the pain because let's face it, birthing pains can get pretty damned intense and make you feel like you're about to lose your mind if you don't allow yourself to focus on something else.
In my country they used alcohol as an anesthesia before giving birth, that's why we still have phrase "drunk like a mother" But that was like 500 years ago!

Dehydration, for example, and that's for both the mother and baby. On the mother's end, that could lead to complications during the labor itself, leading to more potential risks for the baby. The woman said a bottle of wine, so yeah, that could cause all sorts of complications to the labor itself. You really don't need to try to explain to a nurse how alcohol may or may not cause complications. I've seen some of them.

Actually even though you’re not supposed to drink wine while pregnant, it is supposed to help induce labor for people who (typically) are way past their due date. But it is ONLY for inducing labor, should ONLY be a small amount under the guidance of a professional, and should NEVER be drunk on a regular basis or more than once.
It’s also not recommended anymore for fear of harming the baby, and because evidence suggests that it actually doesn’t work for anything, being replaced by more effective methods like taking a walk or being on a balance ball.

Mom of 4 here. A glass of red wine occasionally is not bad for you or baby. It's the getting drunk part that's bad. Red wine has tannins in it that are good for blood pressure issues. You don't want high blood pressure during labor. All of my children were induced and the day before each inducement the doctor said. Walk around, have sex drink a glass of red wine, get some sleep. Breast milk is sweet I've tried my own. It also takes on flavors of what you eat. Which is why you have to be careful with onions, garlic, and spicy foods.

As someone who spent 14 hours in active labor, fully natural birth... makeup was the last thing on my mind. During the wee hours of the morning, I would fall asleep in the minute or two between contractions, only to be torn awake as each one came. The only thing I could think about was getting through each contraction and then later, each urge to push, until my baby was born.
You know, one time my friend started hating on me for saying I never wanted to date because I said the majority of women I meet are exactly like this. Well of course, since he has a girlfriend exactly like some of these people he got genuinely pissed as he couldn't see it lmao. But yeah even my parents accepted at this point I won't be continuing the bloodline lol

Actually even though you’re not supposed to drink wine while pregnant, it is supposed to help induce labor for people who (typically) are way past their due date. But it is ONLY for inducing labor, should ONLY be a small amount under the guidance of a professional, and should NEVER be drunk on a regular basis or more than once.
It’s also not recommended anymore for fear of harming the baby, and because evidence suggests that it actually doesn’t work for anything, being replaced by more effective methods like taking a walk or being on a balance ball.
If the baby of the lady in the first one finds out, they have the perfect excuse to blame her whenever she complains about their grades, also that midwife should be fired if she doesn't understand why pregnant women shouldn't drink booze

Mom of 4 here. A glass of red wine occasionally is not bad for you or baby. It's the getting drunk part that's bad. Red wine has tannins in it that are good for blood pressure issues. You don't want high blood pressure during labor. All of my children were induced and the day before each inducement the doctor said. Walk around, have sex drink a glass of red wine, get some sleep.
Breast milk is sweet I've tried my own. It also takes on flavors of what you eat. Which is why you have to be careful with onions, garlic, and spicy foods.
There is no way this woman is about to go into labor.

As someone who spent 14 hours in active labor, fully natural birth... makeup was the last thing on my mind. During the wee hours of the morning, I would fall asleep in the minute or two between contractions, only to be torn awake as each one came. The only thing I could think about was getting through each contraction and then later, each urge to push, until my baby was born.
The scary part is, is that it is legal for women like the first one to have children.

i can't really say i blame her because
1 labor takes hours, maybe even days sometimes let her do her hair and makeup if she wants to.
2 she didn't just decide to drink. her midwife recommended it. if your doctor recommends something unsafe for you, you can sue them for malpractice.
