- The 2024 intersection of faith and politics is on display, from a messianic-like video which claims, "God looked down on his planned paradise and said, 'I need a caretaker,' so God gave us Trump," to some comparing the former president to Jesus Christ.
"Believe that the man that can help this nation - the one man that was ridiculed, destroyed as - Jesus. Trump can come back and save the American dream for all," Academy Award winner Jon Voight said in a video earlier this year.
When President Trump entered the scene in 2016, he was not a regular churchgoer, nor was he seen as a person of deep faith. Now, eight years later, he is incorporating religion into his re-election bid for the White House.

Personally as a pastor, I do not preach politics in the pulpit. I preach Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. Voting is a right in our country that exists because of those that sacrificed to secure it. I would never tell someone whom to vote for, or not to vote. I preach what’s right and what’s wrong according to the scripture. People have to choose whether they will follow it or not.
It’s obvious that democrats platform is pro-abortion, anti-traditional marriage only, and many other issues. I would be worried about what God thinks if I didn’t declare God’s word concerning life before birth and marriage. After all, we all must appear before the judgement seat of Christ.
As a pastor you should reminding your church LGBT and abortion are very important issues when voting.

I compare Trump to Nebuchadnezzar and Jehu, both placed in their offices by the Lord and used for His purposes... one humbled by the Lord until He acknowledged the God of israel, and the other judged unto death... there are plenty of examples in the Bible of How God choose people who were not perfect but those people did work, that helped Humanity and restored order on the planet.
For Example: King David was not great perfect guy, but God Choose him to lead Israel and restore order in the land of Israel.
God also Chooses people to Punish People.

We are called to speak the truth, whether it is flattering or not. I like Trump, but the religious marketing is not right. It is not crying to say so. Either the Bible comes first in your life or it doesn't. Either you are willing to stand for God's word first or you are not. You don't get to pick and choose when to apply God's word.
I criticize Trump and Biden using the same standard: the Bible. So don't sit on your high horse and assume that everyone who has legitimate criticisms of Trump don't have a problem with Biden or make excuses for Biden.
