We had 7 very strict lockdowns during the pandemic. The Muslim community stepped up and provided meals and food packages for anyone in need. They started with the international students as our government aside from a one off payment of $1,400 gave them no financial support as they weren't Australian citizens. The Muslim community then spread their kindness and generosity to anyone who was struggling with food. So did our Sikh community. These are two groups of people who are often on the receiving end of racism who stepped up with pure hearts to make sure no one went without food... All with a laugh and a smile, asking for nothing in return. Heartwarming. 🇦🇺

I'm in Melbourne, Australia. We had 7 very strict lockdowns during the pandemic. The Muslim community stepped up and provided meals and food packages for anyone in need. They started with the international students as our government aside from a one off payment of $1,400 gave them no financial support as they weren't Australian citizens. The Muslim community then spread their kindness and generosity to anyone who was struggling with food. So did our Sikh community. These are two groups of people who are often on the receiving end of racism who stepped up with pure hearts to make sure no one went without food... All with a laugh and a smile, asking for nothing in return. Heartwarming. 🇦🇺
