- Spanish artist Josep Pla-Narbona is renowned for his upbeat work that comfortably fuses graphic design with fine art. This film portrait by his daughter, director Anna Pla-Narbona give an intimate glimpse into the artist’s life today, which has, since the mid 1970s, been devoted to his delicate paintings and drawings that take his signature tone to an often-surreal but cheerful place.

Oh man, I hope I'm gonna be like him when I'm old; so playful and youthful in the way he carries himself, yet so humble and mature in his wisdom...
every word he speaks is like poetry.
This could easily be one of the most beautiful videos I have come across on youtube. What a profound and lovable character. To see him in an environment and space where all his worlds collide, creating pieces of art influenced by all specs of existence.
Although I do believe this person is special, we come across such interesting people who have so much behind them, which proves that a film like this could capture someone in their element, someone who from a first glance almost seems mundane but is actually beautiful.
All around, these type of films are what make me want to become a filmmaker, and the spark felt whilst watching is exactly what I needed.

This has inspired me, what a great artist. I too am prone to depression, I don’t think I have IT, but I have had a lot of sadness, but I am not a serious person at all, and I always prefer to be silly and upbeat. My emotions too have kept me out of the circuit, I am approaching 29 this month and I have never been able to hold down a job because of my depression and my anxiety which can be very intense at times, try trying to make it as a chef working with knuckle dragging idiots who hate you if you know anything about food, so it never works out. In my spare time I always draw and have started to paint since last year. It always seems so frustrating to me when I can do these things yet when you go for a job they don’t allow you to show your skills. So my hope is that soon I can create high quality art and open a studio, I would love that. I would go to college but I will have to wait until the virus subsides.

it's always an incredible treat to see geniuses elaborate on their thoughts and opinions as they work -- it makes me sort of sad how dry and flat the american language is and sounds in compared to the more fluent and expressive foreign languages, how one can express themselves so naturally, especially an artist, with such poetry

I totally understood 98% what he had to say. At first I thought he was speaking Portuguese or some other Romance language. But I ruled that out. I think he's speaking a regional Spanish. It's definitely not Castellano.
