I picked up this lens just on a whim last week and I've been testing it out on my X-T4. For some test shots on my dog and cats and some flowers in the yard it worked pretty well. I got a few decent shots and one or 2 exceptional shots. This coming weekend I'll be doing some street photography with a friend in NYC - I'll update my thoughts here when I get back after post.

now we definitely need the comparison between this and the Viltrox 56mm F1.7
My impression as a viewer is that the new Viltrox f/1.7 has some serious oomph to it, particularly for the price, while this is a less exceptional lens.
The optical quirks of the TTArtisan 27/2.8 pulled me in, and the aperture ring improves the user experience. I adore the lens. But their 35 and now the 56 just seem kinda uninspiring. Not hugely flawed, but nothing remarkable, not even interesting flaws.
If I were to put together an ultra-budget AF kit, it’d be the TTArtisan 27, and the Viltrox 56/1.7.
Yes I'm legitimately considering both of them lol. It is like almost the perfect 2 prime lens setup. One is a normal focal length, the other is basically 2x the length at short telephoto range @@thebitterfig9903
Don't forget the Meike 😁 I mention them all in the other two videos. This one was recorded over a month ago so I couldn't compare fully then

A great review again Damian. We're being spoiled for choice now 😃 The Viltrox looked a little bit smaller, I do like the square hood on this one, it would match my 23mm 1.4. They'd make an interesting pairing for street or travel I think. Did you like this more than the Viltox ?
Hmm not too sure, pros and cons. This matches the 35mm it's basically paired with but the Viltrox is a tidy little package

Both have potential for low low budget lenses.
What always amazes me is how you get Melania Trump to model for you. I have a simple idea,TT Artisan. Make a lens cap.that fits on the hood. Hood gets to stay on all the time.
