What he said about being there to see your kids' achievement is true. My mom had valid reason for missing a lot of my childhood games. I have absolutely no resentment about that; but as an adult she wonders why I never come to her when I need help. Not having your parents there as a kid when you "achieve" things makes you feel like you HAVE to do things on your own. Not always a bad thing; but definitely not good either.

Lyfe is right. Kids do remember. Had a teammate I played Pop Warner football with all the way through high school. His father and family were fairly well off but I remember his pop was never at any of his games. He used to look around the stands looking to see if he showed up. Caught dude crying in the locker one time after a pop Warner game because his father promised he would come and stood him up. After that he never looked in the stands to find his father again. I'm sure his pop disappointed him in other areas of his life I wasn't privy to.
I have one baby momma and two kids with her and that's it,even tho me and their mom are not together I'm not planning for more kids,that idea is out the window for good.
Money doesn't raise kids, your presence does, I've had full custody of my 17 and 15 year old sons since they were born, their mother didn't really want the responsibility, all I want is to raise my kids to be level headed and for them to appreciate what I'm doing, I don't need praise for being a good father, I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing, paying the bills and giving the kids w.e. they want means something, but it really doesn't mean shit.

Every child deserves full-time parents, in the home, doing the best they can to raise healthy families. Why can't adults understand the benefits of getting married, learning your partner, building a true union,and establishing a solid foundation FIRST before creating fractured families? smh.
