Thanks a lot Dave! The Gilded: Such a pain. Took several hours. The Redtail: An even bigger pain but getting the NileChasseur made it so much easier with 2 speed at the bottom; got a unique Redtail. The Sorubim: So easy; took only a few minutes. I advanced the time to noon and caught a unique at 12:19. The big one (80 kg+): Well, I'm still missing that one so we'll see.
Update: I couldn't catch a single Kambu Catfish with 1, 2 or 3 speed near the bottom. Not sure why that is but I went looking for a Piraiba guide instead and pretty easily got a big enough trophy Piraiba at [-27.81, -670.29] doing stop & go near the bottom with 1 speed. Thanks anyway for all of your help Dave. :)
Hey Dave.. I know this one is old but here is a tip for this mission.. Try casting out from a boat 85 to 90 feet behind the boat. Instead of reeling use your trolling motor and pull your crayfish behind the boat.. It works very well on Maku - Maku and Amazonian Maze.. At least that was what I did
@TheOutlawHatfield I just pulled one in! 79lb. Double speed stop and go using the blue 4". Just goes to show there are a few successful ways to get it. Finally I can leave the damn place and move on! 🤣
Caught the Maku Maku one in about 5 or 6 casts using the blue one. I was done with a cast and the crayfish was under the boat. I was reeling it straight up for another cast and it hit just before it came out of the water.
Managed to snag the Uni Sorubim with the twitching. Got an 82lb Gilded with a Texas rig #6/0 2oz sinker. Straight pull along the bottom, then stop & go when it lifted, hooked right in front of the boat :)
Got the red tail after 3 real hours ( that hard this mission is), used the trophy jighead 56g #6/0 and x-serries crayfish 10 cm for best luck. Stop n go on the bottom, speed 2
So if you’re watching this because you were struggling like I was (and currently still am with the sorbruim) I have 2 things you can try. 1) Shout out to @d’suniverse try the z-series #6/0 bass jig in Maku. It worked for me. 2) The 2oz trophy jigbait with the blue cray works on the redtail and the 176 lb fish in Amazon at the spot Dave suggested. I believe it’s the weight of the rig more than the spots 🤷🏾♂️
Trolling seems to work better than casting out reeling in. I spent hours upon hours casting from various spots reeling in. Took 2 hours trolling between the spawn spot on left side of the deep hole and the small dock on the right. Caught only 3 gilded but one was a large trophy almost 80 lbs along with multiple sorubim and ripsaw.
Hi Dave, hey bud, that first one was without a doubt a total pain in the ass for me, I even rage quit after idk how many hours and didn't try for at least 3 months (even though this is the last mission I have to complete). Upon returning, I decided to try the Irish cray and BAM, 3rd cast I nailed the gilded at maku finally, YAY! The redtail at marron took a little while, at least an hour for me, but I nailed that one too. The sorubim took quite some time for me and I caught a trophy paraba (however it's spelled lol) that got the 176lb out of the way pretty quick, but the sorubim took me about 2 hours. I caught all the fish using the Irish crayfish on a 6/0 jighead, so if anyone is having trouble, give the Irish crayfish a try. Rock On!
Outlaw hatfield trolling with boat is only way to go. Days on this no luck couldnt catch nothing really.. 1 hour real time finished whole.mission.thanks alot
what type of reeling tactic should I do because I am having such a hard time trying to catch a redtail at maroon, and what jig weight should I use? I've been trying to complete this mission for the past 3 months and yet still haven't completed it yet -_-
I was trying to reach from the dock with my Nile Chasseur, but it just didn’t cast far enough. Finally I just threw out there with my Rivertex Zeus. 75 lb on my first cast. Night time, 1.5 oz #8/0 jig, black and blue 4” crayfish. Took me a while to get it in, but after fishing all day, that was fine by me. Now if someone will just let Fishing Planet know crayfish and crawfish are the same thing, lol.
This Guide is Outdated... There is now No Possible way to get the 66+ Pound Trophy Redtail. Every time I pull my Rod Back to set the Jighead, The fish always Escapes.
Yes, it's possible. I did it just now but it's definitely a pain. I'd recommend 2 speed stop & go at the bottom or very close to the bottom. Good luck. Got mine with the black & blue Crayfish.
This is the worst mission, i killed it in the Amazonian Maze, went to Maron and did well but then not one fish for 5 days there. I quit and went to Maku Maku Lake and nothing but sorbiums. Small ones too 😂. 1 5/7 6/0 hook slow stop and go on the bottom. I bought all the crayfish and even the club one. Club one was insane at Amazonian but the game feels broken haha.
Ok well I just hopped back on because I cant stand to be defeated and caught the trophy gilded at Maku Maku doing 6/7 8/0 hook stop and go just above the bottom and that was working well and landed a big trophy, left went to Maron and after 30 mins caught the Red tail Catfish using the 1 5/7 6/0 using speed 3 bobbing the lure icon up and down in very short taps from controller. All using Club Series Red/Blk Crayfish 4". Back to having fun on the Congo. Thanks for all the tips, life would be so rough here without your tips and guides 😎

Tried it. Nothing.
Thanks for the tip. Caught a 80lb Gilded Catfish within about 30 minutes. Caught several others that were in the 40-50lb range.
@@wulfn7 you're very welcome.. That same technique also works very well on the Congo River
@@stevelampard it worked very well for me

Glad I could help 😉 2nd cast of twitching, a Uni nearly ripped the rod out my hands haha 😁 Going to Maku today will test the twitching there...
Yeah thanks for info!

Great video Dave took me awhile at marron but got it lol thanks for all the work you do for these videos very helpful 👍👍👍👍👍
I've used the Jelly Crayfish for maku maku and got mine on the 2nd cast at the exact same spot that you've showed us in the video

How do you get the Irish crayfish? Edit: Oh its a DLC pack
You can buy it with clover coins during st Patrick's day
I've been trying to catch the red-tailed catfish at Marron for over a month. This mission is brutal. Jesus take the wheel lol
😆
3 casts and nailed a uni Redtail in Marron. Dead on your marker. Thanks!
Nice!
Gilded cat not a problem for me. Caught it easily. Redtail Cat at Marron proving difficult for me.....
Finally well done Dave took some hours 🕺🏼🎣🎣👊🏼
Yup tough fish

Weight won't matter alot but stop n go right near the bottom
@@SoopaDaveGaming Reel speed 1 or 2?
Most poles 2
@@SoopaDaveGaming Ok, and does it matter what crayfish to use in the maps, if so, which crayfish is best for marroon, maku maku and the congo?
I used the blue mostly

Craw vs crayfish, who knew!?
The 3rd fish I caught was an 87lb gilded. Thank you for the tutorial.

No most retrieves will work
@@SoopaDaveGaming except slow and straight apparently lol
This is brutal still trying to get a gilded Catfish over 66lbs
Alot of people having that issue
Got the Maku one quite quickly with a #8/0 offset hook 😎👍

Thanks this probably is the hardest mission in the game
I don't believe the 66lb Guilded Catfish exists at Maku Maku. I've done everything in the vid and never seen it.
Absolutely nothing working for me.
Yeah its still there caught it last week this is just a tough mission
@@SoopaDaveGaming I've been months and months trying to get it. Literally.
All you need to do is try. I spent a whole week trying and with luck I got em

Nice way to go micah!
