Agreed I specifically remember watching from 1987-92. It would come on TBS (the Superstation) every week day at 4:05 and the Brady Bunch would follow at 4:35. What I would give to be back to that time.
I luv this episode still. Bringing all these nationalities if kids together! I was born in the 1965 and I still love this! My dad loved old cartoons as well . Sadly, he passed away in 2019 @ the age of 84.
There is no way that *every* single nationality, ethnicity, and dialect could be represented in this without this segment lasting longer than 26 min run-time of the cartoon itself. Just enjoy the cartoon or don't and stop trying to rob others of joy because of your own insecurities and bias. Lots of people groups were left out. So what? Everything doesn't have to be included *IN* everything. It's okay to enjoy things separately sometimes. It was a beautiful song and a great episode. I'm glad I have the episode and I can watch it freely without people whining.
Oh you don't think it was racist grooming do you? Leaving out the middle eastern who have been in scouts for over a century or Russians or African or Chinese. Let's see who is involved in the movie theater industry in the 50s 60s 70s oh ya those people I can't say it I would be called anti semitic. 😂😮😮
rw:i love how it shows the different places and faces for every kid from any nation to sing in their own language, its quite amazing, almost like singing HAKUNA MATATA ^_^
Very forward thinking for the 60s given the role each country has played in the past tense concerning the course of world events from 1900 to post 1950s
I just have to say to everyone complaining that this or that country and/or nationality isnt represented in this clip to get over it already!!! First of all it was made in the 60's and Second of all it was a CARTOON for entertainment not any political statement
Rhiannon Starr people in the 1960s were perfectly aware that Dutch wasn’t a country and England was not a language. Maybe you’re young and you think that everyone just figured that out the mid 90s, but that’s not the case. It is very funny to see the combination of banners with names of countries, languages and nationalities all mashed together. It was funny then and it is now.
@@Saffron-sugar Who gives a crap? Don't like it, don't watch it. You people are just as bad on Facebook, so PC and STUPID. I'm sure you'll just blame Trump for all this as the whacko that you are!
Welcome to The Flintstones Jamboree. With locations all over the world, including France, Italy, Japan, England, Germany, and the fine counties of Bedrock, Dutch & Mexican! It's so funny how they were trying to be international... but the Japanese characters were seriously drawn so wrong!
So glad I came up in the era of cartoons,& p.c. wasn't so prevalent as it is today. Fred& Barney gave the best Ol McDonald rendition. Barney pluckin the guitar.
Good wholesome cartoon !! Fred Barney Wilma and Betty . What a Great Cartoon ! I miss those days coming home from school ( or playing sick and staying home ) and watching them .
I remember this fondly from when I was a kid. But the funny thing is...according to actor David Niven's memoir, Cecil B. DeMille was trying to get a biopic of Boy Scout founder Sir Robert Baden-Powell off the ground, possibly with Niven himself as Baden-Powell. It never did come to pass before C.B. passed away, though. C.B.'s vision for the movie's finale was a Boy Scout Jamboree featuring scouts from all over the world. Of course, this would have been more "epic" than "cute and bouncy", but the principle's pretty much the same as what the Flintstones did here!
I know it only a cartoon but The Flintstones is implied to take place in an alternate universe where the Stone Age simply never left and evolutions into the modern era.
Makes more sense if it's post apocalyptic era where things that once we're are rebuilt. They have Italians, Mexicans Japanese congregating in one unspecified country. Maybe bedrock is like slab city but most of the world is in disarray. Stockings a ship with carrying capacity to make the Pacific and Atlantic journeys with the technology the Flintstones use? It would be more likely they came from ethnic enclaves Maybe they live in Antarctica or in a part of Russia, Greenland or Canada that had defrosted and the dinosaurs etc are mutants from irradiated wastelands.
I love how it's supposed to be the Stone Age but England, Germany, Denmark, Mexico, Japan, Italy and France existed. XD Well, they don't call it the MODERN Stone Age for nothing I guess. lol
Not according to liberals! All of the "Japan" people looked the same, while the kids from England and "Dutch" had varying features. Not to mention, "Mexican"? Really? Liberal's heads will explode!😂
Agreed I specifically remember watching from 1987-92. It would come on TBS (the Superstation) every week day at 4:05 and the Brady Bunch would follow at 4:35. What I would give to be back to that time.
Of course there are those who say it's stereotypical, but honestly, I always got a warm fuzzy feeling watching this scene. Reminds me of Olympics opening/closing ceremonies. It shows that although people may be physically different, we are all still human. "We Are One....."
With all the social, political, and geographical minutia aside, this was an absolute joy to watch and sing along to some forty plus years ago...and now as well. The Flintstones Rocked! Remember "The WayOuts"?
Some of the other great episodes included Pebbles being born, Barney and Betty adopted Bamm-Bamm, Hoppy came to join the Rubbles, the hillbillies and their disdain for Bug Music, the BeauBrummelstones performance and Fred accidentally creating a new dance at his expense, and even Gazoo dropping by
And Disney would do the same thing with "It's A Small World" at the 1964-65 NY World's Fair. Also, one of the rare times H-B let tone-deaf Alan Reed do the singing.
Is there anything stay with you for ever I remember the first time I saw this when I was a kid which was a long time ago and I used to think it was great today as it was when I was there sing it along with it
As I recall, didn’t the kids all come to Bedrock? And it ended with Fred and Barney standing on the roof of Fred’s house, leading the scouts in this song? I don’t think I’ve seen this episode in over 45 years.
This is my favorite episode of The Flintstones...my second favorite is Pebbles birthday when Fred sends a clown to the Water Buffalo Lodge and dancing girls to Pebbles party 😆

I thought the same for the Japanese group and it rubbed me the wrong way. So little individuality right down to the same gaps between their front teeth. It was a passive-aggressive form of anti-Japanese sentiment which was very common at the time (post WWII and all).
Jack BNimble The Mexican kids looked pretty similar too. And why did the sign say "Mexican" instead of "Mexico"? A lot of stereotypes against the Japanese and Asians in general were still prevalent in the 1960's.

One of the greatest episodes on the Flintstones, it's wonderful seeing kids from different countries come together for a camping jamboree
In those days people had a sense of humor
Oh so just where are the middle eastern people? They have had scouts for over a century.
@@joeearley3351 good point
Brings me back soo far.
Children these days, they don't know what they're missing.
rw:and no respect for the classics either too.
Youre just mad children today have more to watch than nursery rhymes. Sorry you had such a boring childhood boomer
Now this was the real meaning of cartoons. And children really enjoyed watching TV . I wish some things would have stayed the same .
Perfect for the whole family, not just kids.
What a treat for the kids to be recorded singing along with Alan Reed
I love the Flintstones growing up brings back good memories
What a WONDERFUL time to grow up. I’m so happy I grew up then and had wonderful shows like these.
1:12 I’ve never forgotten as a kid how much we laughed at how posh they made the English kids. They must have been from Stone Age Eton!

I Always Loved The Flintstones
One of my favorite episodes.
Fred has such a fun loving and lovable as illustrated in this segment.
Fred always had a heart for scouts .Even at the start of the series ,he filled in for a sick scout leader and saved the boys' lives from a waterfall.
Real world camp out sing-a-longs were never this entertaining.
The little things from childhood are so fun to look back on. I used to wait for this episode just to bounce and sing along! Good times ☺️
This was the BEST episode!!! :)
Indeed!
Hope The Creative One don't you mean the GRANDEST?
