No, you're right, I just can't with this album. It's coming to the point where she can release anything bad, and it will still top and win awards. There is like no quality control, and it's really unfair for other artists. SOS by Sza should have won AOTY this year, or even Lana and Olivia had better albums. No shade to midnights, but it was just an ok album in that category.

I only became a fan in the last month. I love 1989 folklore Evermore reputation and some speak now the most.
this album exactly speaks to me as someone who loves spoken word poetry, musical theater, and vintage films. the people that say they like it like it for a reason because I'm not a swiftie. I don't care about her personal life like other fans.
if it's not for you that's fine, but to act like it's objectively bad it's just ridiculous.
everybody has different taste in art, it's literally subjective opinions on ART. there are a lot of people that don't like her first 10 albums and you don't agree with that do you? your opinions are not superior to other people's opinions just because they're yours.
plenty of people that reacted to it blind who don't even listen to her music enjoyed it. I completely understand why it's divisive, especially for fans but that doesn't mean it's somehow objectively bad.
she took risks, she was honest, vulnerable, raw. she was uncaged, unchained. I'm so excited for the future of her work. the music video was brilliant, as someone who has a degree in filmmaking, it was perfect.

@joannafakename That's perfectly fine if you liked it, I really tried to give it a chance, and I was so excited about it. I got introduced to Taylor through the Midnights hype and made me want to check her other stuff out, my favorite albums have to Rep and Lover. I know a lot of people blind hating, but I listened through the whole thing and I wish she did something creative with the melodies, its not the worst thing ever, but i guess it was just my disappointment. Oh well REP TV is next, I guess. Let's hope it will be as good as the original
