The short lead can be fitted with a plug that'll fit into the rear of your Sa 620 . Nostalgia got the better of me a couple of years ago. I put together the 720 set up. I eventually got the ct720 so i now have two ct520 decks spare. Thanks for sharing.

I have the SA-720 with the tuner and I love them, excellent sound quality and power. I just found the cassette deck also, its a great looking series Pioneer made.

Yeah I've had a few pioneer setups but this is my favorite, the power and bass on the amp is awesome and the look is very pretty

i had a X series system that i bought because the amplifier was still a slim version to what they call today blue series and it was cheap ,also needed to offer a music system to my first son ,so he didn´t mess with my system, i had already a version of this deck with the rec level knob looking chromed ,and i really didn´t like it so this one in the video came after with a X series system, i put the first i had in my son´s bedroom and put the box of this one in a storage division of the house ,only in 2019 i took it from the box ,i first changed the belts and was like a new just bought deck i conected it to my system and recorded a couple of songs it recorded with all correct way of working but when listening i found the sound a litle mufled but at the time i had a CT-959 from pioneer more recent and new belts at the time, i started to record cassettes again after changing the belts in this last deck i refer ,now i´m adicted to cassette recording again, but after recording two songs on the CT-520 like you have using a TDK SA-X that i have many, when playing the cassette on the CT-959 of 1990 if memory doesn´t fail me, the sound of the recording was amazing good, so this deck allthough was a low reference at the time play not that good but records with a very high quality sound, the first i bought was because in 79 a friend of mine had bought a system by components from Pioneer that came with a CT-200 and i was almost not believing the sound of the cheapest deck from pioneer being so good, when the first CT-520 came out i bought it but it sounded not that good so i stoped it and when buying the X series system i before my son arrived home assembled the whole system in his bedroom with the first CT-520 bought only 4 monthes earlier and kept closed in the box the other ct-520 to discover only in 2018 that it recorded very good, now it´s conected to my bedroom system. My son when asked told me that all his cassettes today in a diferent deck sound very good. about fixing it ,it´s very simple, Pioneer never ceased to amaze me but it had a very dark period around 1985 ,all looked bad,the decks that should be very good because of a higher reference were looking very cheap mainly plastic and not that good in sound ,either the amplifier or the cassette deck were very bad in building quality and the sound was far from what it used to be

Yeah the mid 80s is when audio system quality started to really drop off. The BPC era was coming in (black plastic crap) and with the advent of amstdad's mugs eyeful policy, tidy systems were being majorly undercut by the facade of cheap all in one systems masquerading as quality seperates. Pioneer dropped the silver face aluminium fronts in favour of a champagne colour in the mid 80s and it doesn't look half as good, in fact it looked like silver faced equipment that had been in a heavy smokers house for decades.
Quality internals were being replaced with cheaper alternatives to keep costs down but he customer was kept interested with vacuum flourescent displays ever growing in size and and detail, kinda of more show than go if you know what I mean

@@FixitAde off course ,i hate some components i bought that light up as christmas trees, only in late 80´s they notice they had lost the market of more expensive components and try to improve again the quality of comopnents, like the URUSHI series or the prologue speakers

I have one of these looking brand new. Sometimes the mechanism gets stuck in playing mode and I have to open it and press the mechanism. It has to be serviced. The problem isn't the belts. When it works it plays and records fantisticaly

Sounds like it needs a bit of freeing up and some lube, the arm could be a tiny nut bent and now and again it gets snagged
