She’s a women the justice system will give her 10 year with the possibility of parole after 2 years sadly. Speaking from experienced when a Drunk 18 year old crashed into my brothers car and killed my niece and nephew she was sentenced to 18 years and only served 3 years.

Sad case but the shooter is protected under Virginia law. We created this law here in Florida. Virginia and many states copied our law. "If you are in imminent fear of bodily harm - you reasonably believe that you are getting ready to suffer serious bodily harm, you are justified in using whatever force you need to repel that attack." This is why it's so important to walk away because a person only has to BELIEVE that you are going to hurt them and they can legally use deadly force. Not only this she had no duty to retreat meaning she didn't have to run away from him after she saw him beat up her boyfriend then advance toward her and the baby standing next to her. Know the self defense laws in your state before you buck up.
