You just can't coach that level of specimen. Create an environment were he's happy and you'll see greatness
He got that right
Ten Hag closed his ears to this... lol
Ten hags team still park the bus but man u fans blamed mou for it.😂😂
@@peteralabi6788ten Haag doesn’t like star players🤷♂️multiple others players have acknowledged this that his ego does not allow him to manage big personalities like Ronaldo
Thanks. Wish Mourinho said this.
Jose recognised how to make best use of Ronaldo that would enable him to reach the heights he has achieved today!
Really is that why Cristiano played his best football after Mourinho was fired!!!😂😂😂
Mourinho laid the groundwork for his transition to striker
@@abdulraheem468 perhaps Cristiano did on his own as he had more success after Jose left!!!
@@GholamFareed first of all Jose wasn’t fired. Secondly, Jose recognised how Ronny could make the best use of his skills after suffering serious injury in 2011 and thirdly, your comments showcase the parochial mindset because nowhere have I said Jose alone was the reason for Ronny’s success! Rise above hate paki
If im not mistaken CR7 was a winger jose made him a striker right?? 🤔
Cristiano Ronaldo netted 451 times in 438 competitive appearances with Real Madrid (averaging over a goal a game). Such a beast! No doubt.
And casually 119 assists as well
That Record can't be broken
To have better than one goal a game over 400 games is unseen… literally
91 goals in a calendar year is even crazier
@@julianespino2942 Oh God lol. Messi fans are so insecure they bring him up in everything 😂 You can’t big ANYONE up without them reminding you. There was a video I saw about Arda Guller and how humble he is, low and behold in the comments Messi meatriders come to suck him off there too 😂

Some wingers are playmakers and assist men, and some wingers are goal scorers. In Real Madrid, he was a winger who scored goals.
He had a lot of assists with Madrid too. He did both at an extremely high level.
@@Don-qf4hyhe was an inverted winger in Madrid. Mainly just cuz they gave him free roam to go wherever the hell he wanted😂
Facts, when you manage players like Messi or CR7 at that point in their career you just don't teach them instead all you need to do is create environtment that can meka them happy and create a tactical approach that can use the best of their ability

Yeah they both are gone. The best era of football so far. İm happy that i didnt miss that era. İts not easy to win 5 ballon dors when there is a player around called Messi wich is the greatest of all time. Kudos to Ronaldo.
Kudos to Cristiano Ronaldo managed to slip five baloon dors in Messi Era. Can't take that out of him.
and people keep sleeping on that smh so many great players last 15 years that never came close and some arguably more talented than than CR7 .. what separates them is his mental toughness. even messi knew he was a problem because he never gave up

That’s why many good coaches fail at big clubs
You don’t need to teach world class players how to play football you just give them the match plan and let them execute it
As a madrid fan, Cr7 and Madrid was a match made in heaven. Outside of Cr7 and Zidane the other player you can think of that was meant to play for madrid is maybe Bellingham. My opinion
Nice
That’s why Cristiano Ronaldo is the most complete football athlete. Not only can he score all types of goals but he did/does it from being the best of both worlds, a pure winger and a perfect striker.
Messi is definitely more of a complete player. As Jose said Ronaldo became more of a dedicated goalscorer in Madrid. Messi was an exceptional playmaker, often seeming more like a deep playing midfielder, yet he managed to keep up in goals as well.
@@lukasst2597 bro stop it Messi is not complete the brother can’t even press or trackback lol. He’s not shooting those long range goals that Ronaldo had. But Ronaldo has over 200+ assists himself and is also the all time champions league assist leader and goals leader. He’s more complete he just didn’t have the fortune of not injuring his knee in his prime which slowed him down and forced him to play more centrally.

@GholamFareed first of all, fix your grammar, man. There's literally apps that help with that. You can't be arguing with strangers with such bad grammar.
Now, for the topic at hand. Ronaldo played his best football under every coach. He just had different roles and positions so as to suit the manager's playing style. Mourinho won

Howson talking to Mourinho is sacrilegious.
At real Madrid he was the GOAT
Yet Messi beat him to most of the league titles
He played as a striker for Man U, in big games. The CL final against Barca. Rooney would play on the left. And he scored about 50 goals in his last season with Man U.
No. He scored 42 goals in all competitions in his second last season during his first stint with Man United. In his last season in his first stint he scored 26 goals in all competitions.
42 = about 50. And the prior season he hit the woodwork 10-15 times or something silly.
The PL was a much harder league to score in than La Liga, and Real were a better side than Man U. Mourinho used Ronaldo the exact same way Fergie did. Mostly on the wing, CF sometimes, especially for big games.
He played CF in the CL final against Barca and the semi-final against Arsenal.
Mourinho only used Ronaldo as a striker in the game he mentions because he parked the bus to a ridiculous degree against that Barca team. It was complete anti-football, so Ronaldo just stood up front for counter attacks.
This was after the famous 5-0 defeat, where Ronaldo played left wing. In that final, Mourinho played a midfield 3 of Pepe, Khedira and Alonso. Benzema, Higuain, Kaka and Adebayor were on the bench. Barca had about 80% possession.
That is Mourinho's tactical genius. I don't think Mourinho used Ronaldo at CF much at all besides the Barca games.@@A_friendwithoutbenefits

You really don't have to coach a goat candidate like that. He's stood with the likes of Messi, Zidane, Maldini, Lev Yashin, R9, Maradona, Pele, Cryuff, at the highest tier. When you have player like that, you just build team around him so he's happy and could do his best.
He scored 42 times for man utd in the season before joining madrid, so he was already an animal. Jose trying to take the credit once again😅
ronaldo in 2007 -09 at united was the greatest player of all time!!!!!
No man 😂 that wasnt even his prime
I still can’t believe they compare Messi to Ronaldo when he scored 450 goals in 9 years 😅 no one can’t touch this guys work ethic, he is just a monster!
Messi scored 100 goals in a single year my guy 😂
Messi scored more in that 9 years 😂 472 goals in that period including 56 more assists than pendu
I didn't know he could talk nice about Cristiano
❤
🎉🎉
It wasn't the first time he played as a striker. In the UCL Ferguson played him as a striker with Rooney on the left.
Take notes Seven Haag😂
Probably Ten Hag was trying to coach him. 😅
Siuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu 🫲🏻💟🏴☠️
He might not be compared to Messi if he was a winger in Manchester United. However in Madrid, goals win u matches. If u said he only can score goals, what’s more important than goals? If no goals, u can’t win anything, not to mention throphy
Even with that, he still wouldn't be compared to Messi because he did all that and more by assisting, creating and dictating the game winning trophies along side.
PS Not Saying Ronaldo is not good, I am a Messi fan I am not sentimental.
Just looking at the goals proves that a person don't know much about football. It's about the impact on the game and goals are ofc a big factor. The point is that you can be a player with less goals but still a better player bcs your individual actions lead to more goals (chances created, passes, dribbles etc). Every action on the pitch has a value (also defensive actions or holding the ball) and the best player is the player who has the highest value through his actions
@Tito-et4pc And CR7 did all that in the 3 best leagues of Europe!
@@ArtB-qm5vf Just to end up as the 2nd best of his generation, which is also a great achievment for CR7 tbh
@@ModernFootball866 Cristiano Ronaldo is the best of his generation. The number 1.

I prefer the Man Utd version of Ronaldo, that Ronaldo can claim to be thr best of all time, all sorts of goals, assists and pure entertaintment for the fans
Not even close for beeing the best oat and not even the best CR7
Mourinho always finding ways to grab the appraisals.
Exactly like Thierry Henry winger at big clubs then moved and transition too a striker role more and those 2 animals were born
Messi was born to do it the other 2 had it all but had ot work harder
“Oh you can’t coach him - but - I made him the player he is…” …Careful not to break your elbow patting yourself on the back there
If social media was a thing r9 r10 n zizou would hog all the balon dors
Music name?
Name of song?
Goals are great. And it wouldn’t make sense to have used him any other way. But there’s no doubt that by making Ronaldo a target-man we stopped seeing the range of skills he developed and exhibited over the early part of his career. His role was both free and tightly defined; I thinks that’s why he was generally compared unfavourably with Messi towards the end. (And telling me that you didn’t prefer Messi isn’t really proving anything)
Without the amount of goals CR has now, he wouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as Messi
@lukmanaliyu7386 yeah right, pessi is a one league player, flopped outside La Liga, Ronaldo proved himself in the 3 best leagues of Europe. Player of the year and top scorer in the Premier League, La Liga and Serie A.
Ten hug should lern from him
He won him a la Liga title in the era of Barcelona domination. Still he don't consider him the greatest player. Thats the the thing the great no 7 has faced throughout his career.
The fact remains Cristiano played his best football after Mourinho was fired!!!
I'm not sure what Jose is taking credit for??? Jose also failed to mention how he threw Cristiano under the bus 😂😂😂 when he was criticised by Real Madrid fans!!!
Ferguson developed Cristiano!!!!
Prime Cristiano (2008-2014) had Jose as his manager for most season.
@@langletprolet8378 what did Cristiano win with Jose as compared to Ferguson???
@@GholamFareed I don't think Mourinho ever claimed that he developed Ronaldo, neither in this clip or in other interviews so I'm not sure where you're getting that he's taking credit. Jose said it himself here that Ronaldo didn't need coaching. He only tweaked Ronaldo's tactical role to be the goalscoring left forward to make him produce the most output of goals and he started to score 50+ goals per season. Ronaldo was amazing in those prime years especially 2011-2012. He won more under Zidane, but individually it wasn't his absolute peak as his dribbling ability was slightly diminished due to his injury in 2014.
@@langletprolet8378 I'm not sure you watched the same video we did cos he definitely alluded to him developing Cristiano!!!
Cristiano's best year or highest season return was 61, which he achieved in 2014-15 under Ancelotti not Mourinho so again you're wrong!!! You mentioned that he stopped dribbling due to an injury I'm 2014 that's strange cos I remember him clearly scoring goals where he took on 3 to 4 players. How did he enjoy his best season if he was out injured in 2014??? You're not making much sense now are you??? 🤣🤣🤣
Jose was a flop at Madrid hence he was fired & Ancelotti achieved where Jose failed!!!
Did you ever think that Cristiano dribbled less due to his game evolving & he's not the first player to go through that transition as namely Beckenbauer, Matthäus, Scholes & Beckham all went through the very same transition.
@@GholamFareed I think you misconstrued Mou's statements. He eluded to evolving Cristiano's game (which linked to your last paragraph), not developed him. The one that developed CR7 to be the world class player he is will always be Sir Alex, Jose ofc knows this as someone who has a lot of respect for the Boss and never stated anything that contradicts that.
I don't think I've said anything wrong. I never said that he had the best record under Mourinho, but that it was first started with Mou that Cristiano started scoring 50+ goals per season regularly. Even then, Ronaldo scored 60 goals in 2011-12. Only 1 off from 61 of 2014-15.Before 2010 under Mourinho, Ronaldo had only ever had one season where he scored 50 goals (the first Balon D'or season).
Ronaldo's knee injury he suffered at the 2014 World Cup is very much well documented. It is a degenerative knee issue that gets worse over time. As Ronaldo is an absolute best professional, he takes the best care of his body and still produce the consistent goods even after. But it's clear, as the stats show, that gradually he has diminished slightly over time each season.
Mourinho failed in delivering the La Decima, but succeed in building the strong Madrid that can compete in the league and Europe where previously they bail out consistently in round of 16. That's why he still gets a lot of respect from Madrid fans. Ancelotti was fired in 2015 he didn't win the league in his first stint and had a trophyless season, but I wouldn't use the argument that since he got fired he was a failure, no.
He played striker for United vs Barcelona in the final they lost, so….
This is why Ronaldo's best years as a pure footballer were at Utd. He was a complete footballer then. He became just another goal machine striker albeit one of the all time greats in that regard. And also why Messi was lightyears ahead of him as a footballer.
That was not first time he played a striker, he did that in united earlier
No he did not, he was a winger that had freedom to roam, the strikers at United were, Van Nistelrooy, Rooney, Saha, Tevez, Berbatov
@@ArtB-qm5vf yes, he did, Ferguson used his as a striker I'm CL final in 2009.
CR7 was already playing some matches as a striker for United. Real Madrid wasn't the first team he played as a central forward. Sorry Mou, you didn't discover CR7 in that position.
He played some matches at CF for MU, for example against Porto in the CL in which he scored that amazing goal from 35 meters.
But at Real did he become primarily a central attacker, not just occasionally.
Lots of matches at Man U. The CL final against Barca. Away at Arsenal in the CL knockouts. Partly because he didn't do the defensive work. Rooney got pushed out wide to accommodate him. @@andrasszabo1570
