    Craig there's a little shuttle bus from Belfast City Airport to Sydenham Station (pronounced) Sid-num).
    I was laughing at all your walking. 😂😂
    Good videos though, keep it up 😊

    Really enjoyable video. You showed some excellent local knowledge. If only you could have taken in a match at the Coleraine Showgrounds. Many thanks.

    Very cool seeing the exact train and route I used to take every day to work in a video. You're right about the train size, usually 6 cars total (2 sets of 3)... Unless there's a problem! Have seen only 3 cars turn up then we're crammed in like sardines 😂 During rush hour the train is standing room only usually even with 6 cars. Also I think the train was starting from Lanyon Place due to alterations to the lines heading south. Instead of Great Victoria Street we now have a new station, Grand Central. Usually the Derry-Londonderry train started from Great Victoria Street. The Portrush train actually has another extra stop in Whiteabbey which is skipped for the faster Derry train. Oh, and the bathroom buttons brought back such memories - I've been caught out by the electronic lock malfunctioning and opening the door too soon before 😅 If you ever need power, Lanyon station has a nice bridge between platforms with seats and dont quote me but I think there's an outlet up there.

      Thanks for your great comment! Great info I didn’t know 😊 looking forward to checking out Grand Central when I’m next over!!

    • @pgmann
      @pgmann 3 месяца назад +1

      No problem! Slight correction, the Whiteabbey stop is only on the extra rush hour trains that terminate in Coleraine. I thought it was the Portrush one.

    At the bottom of each door is a 3 pin plug. There is no where to set you phone safely so you'll probably want to sit on the floor beside it. Just out of being nice ask the guard if it's ok to use them. I can't see there being any issues though.

    Some translink 4000s are 6 car sets so you don't need a 2 by 3 I think you were on it the numbers are 4014 - 4020 . Then 4001 to 4013 are all 3 car sets

    There´s no way DoI will fork out a couple millions to build another train halt literally 500 m away from Sydenham. Plus most people will be taking the bus into town anyway. Bus no 600 takes zou straight to Grand Central which soon will be the main hub for all trains. If you have tons of luggage with you you can always ring the transfer service to the long-stay car park. It´s free, btw.

    • @craig.bryant

      Thanks for the info, going to try the bus to Grand Central next time!

      @@craig.bryant Defo the faster option and more convenient option. it's literally just behind the sign that you can see on the far right at 12:10 . There's a small bus shelter, a ticket vending machine (although the driver also accepts cash and cards) and sometime you can board the bus earlier so you don't have to wait outside. Unless you're coming from the Bangor direction or you live right next door to Lanyon Place (only few people do) there's no point in taking the train.

      I’ll say that for City, it’s a lovely airport and perfect size. Not too big or busy but has everything you need. Much prefer a ferry to a plane but the ATRs are good for what they do, just wish the seats were wider and more leg room for tall lads!!
