ive had one three years now and i luv my LK35...though i just use mine stock...took it on an eight day backpacking trip in the wind river range last august...it was tight but it worked just fine. nice mods and loadout...atb...woods
They are great packs I love mine. I have upgraded to a kidney belt as well. I really like the side pockets going to have to make that mod to mine as well very nice. Great load-out thanks for sharing atb John
William, you have done a great job on the L35. I have picked up some good tips. 1 thing I did which you might consider is paint a cross on the outside of the pouch with the first aid kit. It would help you and others in a stressfull moment to find the kit.. Be well. n
Used that rugsack during my basic training in the Swedish army around 1990. I'm amazed that you guys can get it in the US. We did similar modifications then to it but we were limited to non permanent mods mostly using straps and improving the water resistance. (There used to be a saying in the Swedish military that the only truly water resistant item were the towels...) I was stationed in the northern parts of Sweden during winter and we used skies so we improvised a chest strap (pretty much a must to keep it from moving around so much) also and straps at the bottom for the sleeping bag. Looking forward to see what you're going to do to that second rucksack.
Nice Kit and I like the mods, I just ordered my LK 35 from Coleman I paid 29.95. I think there are less expensive ones out there , with that being said I think they are getting harder to locate. Stay safe and many thanks!
Ive owned and used the LK35 for a couple years now, the two modifications I did were an ALICE belt and Canadian Pattern 82 straps. Hands down one of my favorite rucksacks.
great video.....I'd been looking at those LK35 packs. Was real interested it the frame....trying to figure out if I could mount one of my canvas bags on it.
I've modified my LK35 out the exact same way. You've got the same webbing pouches as me. I couldn't find the ones Mike McQuilton uses with the button style fasteners. I also use Trex vegetable fat rather than rendered animal fat based on Mikes excursion with Zed Outdoors.
Did you try the second burning chamber wood gasification stoves ? They are smokeless and sparklers and so you can't be found or provoke a woods burning catastrophe. Otherwise you can make just any meal with only a bunch tweegs...
great pack and mods William! got enough to get ya through really like the blades to of course you always have great Ideas for your gear well you stay safe a atb...tom
nice pack. love the mods you made to it. i definitely need a pack upgrade and i'll need to frankenstein it up cause i don't have hundreds of dollars and just in general prefer things made for me and how i use it. hoping to save up for one of your knives soon too ;) thanks for sharing
When I got LK 35 many years ago hardly anybody had one (on youtube anyway) Now it seems they are in great demand, I have not modified mine as I have others to choose if I'm going far but it's the solidity of the thing which impresses, the feeling of longevity which is reassuring, yes the shoulder straps are a bit thin and can be uncomfortable over time especially if you have a broad chest but that can be rectified with ease, for very little money you really are getting one hell of a good pack, however, I feel it's new popularity will force prices up, Regards from the UK.
Robert Kirk yep, me too. We are very fortunate we haven't already had more incidents. It is a blight on this earth and needs to be dealt with accordingly. Stay safe.
Hi William, very nice video my friend, great rucksack, got one myself just recently, same source MCQ Bushcraft, nice gear setup you have there, that neck knife looks sweet, also think I'll adopt that foam support. Works well. I'm a Collins too, must be a connection there somewhere haha!. Thanks for taking the time William, have subbed.
Original shoulder straps are good enough, just add a waist strap or belt to pull the weight on your hips and you can carry a lot of weight comfortable, also the 2 fixing loops and extra long fixing straps are so you can fit bulky items between the frame and sack eg radio, enjoyed the vid, all the best
Hello again William. I've chosen the Cordura version and i'm surprised about the space and the ruggedness. Nevertheless i wan't to place two of these pouches. You are right, there hard to find:) Can you give me an advoce of where i can find these Swedisch pouches? Thanks again
Great video, good to see my style can be sheared with some one else in this world. Just for the record: what's that frame made out of, aluminum or light weight steel ?
Hello Mr. Collins,I'm a new subscriber to your channel, and so far I love every video I've seen. I'm very interested in your knives, but I'd like to watch a few more vids to get a better idea of all the styles you make. Lastly, could you tell me where you got those beautiful leather bags for your tool and fire kits? They look like deerskin. Look forward to watching all your videos and maybe doin'business in the future. Be well.
Welcome to my channel. This is a good playlist to see my designs and past work ruclips.net/video/1jOANBXcgJA/видео.html But I also make knives that customers send me specs and sketches of. Those bags I made, there are videos of how I made them on my channel. The leather is scraps I bought from Hobby Lobby. This play list is a good one to learn my philosophy of knife design and many other opinions of mine. ruclips.net/p/PLlbS3ilO_URps8TZQbO_fywqG7rkESByc
Hello William. I liked your video and relaxed way of talking about yourn gear. I was wondering; is your pack mede from canvas? I understand that is a 'nylon'version and a canvas version and i'm in doubt wich one to choose. Thanks for the answer in advance and have a nice weekend!
Otis010707 not sure when I can get to it but Dave Canterbury with the Pathfinder School has a video on this a few years back and should come up with a quick YT search.
+William Collins (WC Knives) about what i thought. my loving wife bought me one unbeknownst to me as a anniversary gift. supposedly custom made. turns out it was a scammer and was shipped from Pakistan. at a distance it looks good. dif story in the hand. worst edge ive ever seen. blade design, not bad. hate to tell her. would make her day if i used it but wow its bad.
William, I enjoyed watching the bag review. Concerning that single shot 12 gauge, do you feel at any significant disadvantage if using a full choke instead of a mod or IC? Reason I ask is so many of the old shotguns we inherit from the old timers in the family seem to be full choke.
I have a Winchester full choke 12 gauge I inherited from my dad. It is about 73 years old and I used it hunting in my youth. Fantastic gun but the barrel tip has swelled from the OO buck. I think being a full choke is the reason. Don't think a modified would do that or I haven't seen it happen. Another reason I prefer the modified is I can use Short Lane adapters and shoot 20 gauge, 410, 45 long colt, and 22 calibers from it as well. It isn't recommended to use full choke with the adapters.
I like that part as well. The alice pack seamed to have to much weight away from your center, probably how I loaded it, but this one has the weight closer to your center so it caries a lot easier.
No update. I didn't care for the additional pouch I referred to in the video. Instead I modified a Duluth Wander pack to fit a external frame and I am now using it. There is a video of this pack on my channel.
Hay bang bang scooty heres a link to those Swedish Webbing pouch set, you get 2 pouches for £8,50 comes with goodies inside too www.militarymart.co.uk/swedish-webbing-set.html, hope the link works for ya, all the best dude....
My understanding is there are two sizes, a 50 and a 35, and sometimes the 50 are sold as a 35. Not sure if that is true or not but that is what I heard.
know what you mean and moccasins, I truly hate that damn snake with a passion reserved for little else!!! and for packs, I wish everyone would use cubic inches, this liter foolishness is damn confusing!!! one thing I've figured out lately as to cook sets is the cheap one person sets make excellent donors for plates if your looking to add one or two! if you want two out of a set just cut the handle bracket off the frying pan! if you happening to be looking for a new 2qt. stainless pot check Wal-Mart if found an Ozark trail set for 10.00 that seems pretty good for the money!!!by the way, that's the artic bag, I forget stuff like that when there's more then 1 part.
You are living the dream, my friend. Respect from the UK.
Great video I like that back pack. Love the gear dump.

nice mods and loadout...atb...woods
Thanks, great packs for sure.
Very good and full of great idea's !
They are great packs I love mine. I have upgraded to a kidney belt as well. I really like the side pockets going to have to make that mod to mine as well very nice. Great load-out thanks for sharing atb John
Like mine so far.
love the stove made from an old cup
William, you have done a great job on the L35. I have picked up some good tips. 1 thing I did which you might consider is paint a cross on the outside of the pouch with the first aid kit. It would help you and others in a stressfull moment to find the kit.. Be well. n
appreciate your view and tip.
I think the original straps are brilliant easy to tighten and loosen when on. Try just adding some car seat belt covers works brilliant.
Appreciate your suggestion.
Used that rugsack during my basic training in the Swedish army around 1990. I'm amazed that you guys can get it in the US. Appreciate the info on the pack. Not sure about the second one either yet.
Luv the Mods. !
Good design and the stand up by itself feature is a PLUS !
Thanks and yes it is.
Your editing and camera angles are actually much better than most other reviews I've seen on the LK35. Keep it up
Thanks, appreciate your support and kind words.
Great kit and nice modifications. Always enjoy watching these videos.
Thanks!
Nice Kit and I like the mods, I just ordered my LK 35 from Coleman I paid 29.95. I think there are less expensive ones out there , with that being said I think they are getting harder to locate. Stay safe and many thanks!
They are getting popular for sure. Love mine.
Hello there, this link to UK supplier of the Swedish Army LK35 Rucksack currently has 6,000.
www.militarymart.co.uk/swedish-army-lk35-rucksack.html
Coleman's has been sold out for some time. Don't expect they will get them back in stock and if they do, I'm sure they won't be $30.
Ive owned and used the LK35 for a couple years now, the two modifications I did were an ALICE belt and Canadian Pattern 82 straps. Hands down one of my favorite rucksacks.
Quickly becoming one of mine as well.
great video.....I'd been looking at those LK35 packs. Was real interested it the frame....trying to figure out if I could mount one of my canvas bags on it.
I mounted a Duluth pack to the frame in this video. ruclips.net/video/VRTdhBjn1Mo/видео.html
Is that the LK 35 frame you mounted it to??
the green pack was mounted to the L35 frame.
I've modified my LK35 out the exact same way. You've got the same webbing pouches as me. I couldn't find the ones Mike McQuilton uses with the button style fasteners. I also use Trex vegetable fat rather than rendered animal fat based on Mikes excursion with Zed Outdoors.
Mike has some great videos for sure. I really like this set up, although I have only used it once.
Did you try the second burning chamber wood gasification stoves ? They are smokeless and sparklers and so you can't be found or provoke a woods burning catastrophe. Otherwise you can make just any meal with only a bunch tweegs...
Thanks for the great video review, good tip on the Crisco.
nice pack....adding a pouch to the front would be nice too....
Todd Gibson thought about it. Haven't found the right one yet.
great pack and mods William! got enough to get ya through really like the blades to of course you always have great Ideas for your gear well you stay safe a atb...tom

Great video just got my lk35 in the mail recently
Hope you like it as I do mine.

Great pack and solid for sure. Appreciate your view and thoughts. Hearts are with you guy's and hope things settle down for y'all soon.

Stinky Finn appreciate yoir voew and thoughts. Originals may work but for me the Alice should straps are a more comfortable upgrade.
Very cool pack, if you get a chance try out the rubberized version of the Swiss mountain pack it is very good. Great video as always :)
I have seen those and they look great too. Thanks!
Hello again William. I've chosen the Cordura version and i'm surprised about the space and the ruggedness. Nevertheless i wan't to place two of these pouches. You are right, there hard to find:) Can you give me an advoce of where i can find these Swedisch pouches? Thanks again
Found mine on eBay with a Google search. There is a rubber version but you cannot sow them on the pack so be careful.

Yes finally a camping trip

Mine is canvas and appreciate your view and comment.
I'm sure I get the point but I'd love to see a demo of the ring used to make a tripod!
Otis010707 not sure when I can get to it but Dave Canterbury with the Pathfinder School has a video on this a few years back and should come up with a quick YT search.
i like it, nice load out......Like those boots too, what are they n where did you get them? Thank you.
Thanks, Tose are Muck Chore Cool boots. I think I ordered them from Sportsmanguide.com.
great video. thanks for sharing. was wondering what your feelings are about damascus blades. any thoughts, pro and cons?
Some are good and but most are crap. I recommend getting one from a reputable custom blade smith. One who forges their own Damascus steel.
Hear that a lot. You have to be very cautious when buying Damascus knives.

A great kit you really packed it full. The modifications really add to the pack. Did you hand sew the pouches? atb Opal
Thanks, yes they were hand sewn.
Great pack mate. Great load out. What did you use to sew the pouches on the side of the pack
Spyder wire fishing line. I think it was 50 pound test. Thanks mate!
Do the suspenders make a big difference carrying your belt items?
Suspenders are connected to my pants not the belt.
I like the shape, don't seem to stick out away from the body like my old large ALICE.
I like that part as well. The alice pack seamed to have to much weight away from your center, probably how I loaded it, but this one has the weight closer to your center so it caries a lot easier.
Great pack
Thanks!
Good video, very informative. Did you sew the side pouches by hand or machine?
WASRT thanks, by hand.
Was there an update video this pack? I'm looking but not finding.
No update. I didn't care for the additional pouch I referred to in the video. Instead I modified a Duluth Wander pack to fit a external frame and I am now using it. There is a video of this pack on my channel.
William, do you think the Swedish Army rucksack is that much better than the Alice packs?
Yes, my alice packs seamed to have the weight to far from my center but this pack has the weight closer to my body and it caries easier.
Thanks, I might just have to check one of those Swedish bags out then.
Hi There William, Does it have to be a specific type of belt? i've bought a pack and am struggling to find ALICE waist straps
I would think any belt long enough would work if you could find a way to attach it to the pack frame.
Yeah that's what i'm worrying about, The ALICE straps have an easy way to attach them to the pack right? Thanks for the quick response William
The alice strap did have convenient attachment points.
How tall are you? For a point of reference for how this would fit me at 5'8". Thanks!
Otis010707 I am 5-11”
Watching this in 2021, hope you are doing ok man.
Doing very well. Thanks for asking.
what are the side pouches you use called?
Swedish military pouches is the term I used to find them on google.
Hay bang bang scooty heres a link to those Swedish Webbing pouch set, you get 2 pouches for £8,50 comes with goodies inside too
www.militarymart.co.uk/swedish-webbing-set.html, hope the link works for ya, all the best dude....
EARTH IS FLAT: GOOGLE IT.
Few years ago there was a ton of swedish army surplus to buy here in Sweden.
they are actually about 50 liters. not really sure why they call it 35
My understanding is there are two sizes, a 50 and a 35, and sometimes the 50 are sold as a 35. Not sure if that is true or not but that is what I heard.
They also have a 70 liter :)
know what you mean and moccasins, I truly hate that damn snake with a passion reserved for little else!!! and for packs, I wish everyone would use cubic inches, this liter foolishness is damn confusing!!! one thing I've figured out lately as to cook sets is the cheap one person sets make excellent donors for plates if your looking to add one or two! if you want two out of a set just cut the handle bracket off the frying pan! if you happening to be looking for a new 2qt. stainless pot check Wal-Mart if found an Ozark trail set for 10.00 that seems pretty good for the money!!!by the way, that's the artic bag, I forget stuff like that when there's more then 1 part.

Huh, and I've been saving to buy an external frame that costs a hundred dollars without a bag.
Highly recommend this option if you can.
the lk35 has axe loop
Yes, there is a loop on the front for a axe.
ive jused them much in the military and in the national guard
Really like the one I have with the mods.
Snakes... I best being a gun good logic
