Replacing the display can cause issues with Apple Pay. If possible, to reduce the likelihood of problems, delete all your Apple Pay account info before the replacement, and then re-enter it with the new display installed. Make sure to update your Apple Watch to watchOS 5 or later (and the paired iPhone to iOS 12 or later) to avoid pairing issues after a display replacement.
Question I have a iCloud locked watch in perfect contrition , I can technically swap that screen into a unlocked housing and be good to go ? Correct me if I’m wrong
This is super helpful. I have a question, I have two Series 5 44mm watches, one is GPS only and the second is GPS+Cellular. Do you know if the screen is identical in both models? I am thinking about replacing the Cellular screen with the one from the GPS model. Thanks.
@@peppermomint thanks but i already broke the display and new display is more expensive than new watch.. and i am broke rn so i will just buy a galaxy watch 🥹
Też zerwałam tą taśmę. Co to jest, jak ona sie nazywa? Rozumiem że ona nie przychodzi z ekranem? Jak to znaleźć? Chodzi o tą dookoła zegarka, pod ekran
Great replacement in your comment I read about a conflict with Apple Pay!!! I had a cracked screen and took it for repair and successfully fix my screen all functions work plus updated to ios9 but my Apple Pay when I click the side button my cards are not there ? On my iPhone the app for the watch has my cards but cannot remove them or if I press to add to watch it has a pop up saying there’s a problem . Do you have any suggestions how I can fix this problem. Would appreciate your help . Best regards Mike A fan of your great work .
I have a Series 5, 40 mm with a cracked screen. I see several replacement screens being offered. Which offer tempered glass & work well as a touch screen. What do you recommend?
Just did this repair today. Screen worked fine, but I ended up needing to remove the nfc antenna from the old screen and use it for the new one, as the nfc chips are encoded to the device. I removed the new screens chip, but left it’s antenna in place. The old antenna/chip just sits between the case and screen and it’s old adhesive holds itself in place.

@@SerPLENTI yes it does work . Just need to take your time lol
Use the ifixit adhesive strips. Way less messy and worked great for me
Did it maintain water resistance with the adhesive strips?
I tried looking for the iFixit strip. I could not find it. Do you have a link or any tips on finding it?

Yes, the screen is identical
Do i have to buy force touch senzor ? Or glue is just fine ? Beacuse i already ordered parts and i don't wanna order another thing
Apple no longer supports force touch on the Series 5. You should be fine without it.

The opening tools are not available anymore on Amazon. Do you have any other suggestions?

Is that for a cellular Apple Watch?
I just took out the old screen and put it on again but it doesn’t start anymore. What can be the cause ?
did u ever find it out
How much does it cost to fix ??
100$ around
Crazy 215 for a tiny screen???
The screen is basically worth the same as a new one. Better off just getting another watch if you don’t wanna mess with it.
Screen = 150 CAD. New watch = 500 CAD. Not even close to the same price.
