I wasn’t that on board with this project at first, due to a lack of a vivid goal. But after this video I think you have a good general idea on what the final product should be so I’m more confident in this project. I’m excited to see how this turns out (:
I think the main priority for the enderporters is speed, not lack of physical wire. The sculk block transmission actually seemed pretty slow, so I don't think they'd be too much help.
As someone who was skeptical of this project at first, I’m definitely starting to lean towards really enjoying it! Seeing you start to put the room together was super cool, and gave me a much better idea of what’s to come. I’m excited to see where it goes :) Keep up the awesome work!!
I have to say you never cease to amaze me, Etho. You are one of, if not THE, most creative thinker I have ever seen when it comes to MC. I have NEVER been bored by your episodes and I would watch/listen to you, no matter what you were playing. Keep up the amazing work!
Everytime etho mines in his old generated terrain i get jealous cuz he doesnt have to deal with andesite diortie and granite filling up his inventory. And the terrain looks so pretty without random white and orange blobs in it
I'm really excited to see where this goes. I think a lot of the concern just comes from growing pains at this point, this change in pace really does seem somewhat necessary in my mind. It also seems like you enjoy working on it too. There's really only so many farms you can build in the game before you've just got a self sustaining world, and I think this project is the perfect outlet for it. If you're happy with it, I say go for it. This could continue to provide interesting things for you to do for a long time, and I'm sure as more of the lab is fleshed out over time you're going to win over more of the viewers who may be complaining.
For the block breaking room, I think it would be a good idea to include Silk Touch, since it effects what item drops from the block. Also I'm not sure if you would include plants in the category of blocks, but you can break them and sheers affect the speed, so the could be incorporated in this room or maybe in a side room.
In addition to adding tunnels to each part of the “museum/lab” to connect it when it gets big enough, you could have a full ender-porter directory area to make it more seamless
Man this project is just amazing. I can't wait to see what you do with "Etho's Lab"! Btw loving the color theory and just how amazingly balanced the project has been so far.
Never have I seen another person who revolutionizes the idea of what you can do in Minecraft more than Etho. The concept of entering the Information Age in a survival is just crazy and the scope of this project being as big as it is I know will keep me happily entertained for years to come.
You should try having a cleaner backdrop for your devices, especially the timer for example. Picking similar colors for the background makes it hard to notice, while having a "clean" stage, presumably a set-back white wall made out of quartz could help it stand out, drawing the eye towards the time measurement. It could also help frame it in if you'd consider keeping the walls flatter. Bumpiness smudges colors at times too.
Thank you Etho for all of the entertainment you have provided on your channel over the years. It's my 18th birthday today and it hasn't been the best so seeing a new let's play minecraft video in my notifications has really cheered me up. I truly appreciate all the work you put into this channel and this community, your videos have been a great comfort throughout many times in my life ❤
This project is amazing. Especially because everyone watches you and always learns something new. So this project exemplifies what Etho playing Minecraft is all about.
Just a couple of thoughts on the room: you should label it in some way whether it’s with “block breaking” or like pixel art of a block with the cracking animation or something because I feel like this lab is going to get to the point where it’s easy to get lost in especially for people exploring a world download, also I like the note blocks going off to signal the different effects but I think the conduit should have a different instrument like a xylophone or something more aquatic or tropical sounding (I’m not sure about this one just something I thought of while watching) anyway I love your videos and keep up the great work.
Hey Etho, I was wondering what your opinion was on the Caves and Cliffs update. What is your favorite addition, what is your least favorite, etc. Thank you for the years of entertainment and keep up the good work!
Etho is the best minecraft content creator on RUclips. I’ve been watching on and off since episode 4 of season 1 when he built the Eats road and loved it ever since. The vibe has never changed after all these years and that’s more than you can say for almost any other RUclipsr.
I really love the colors and shape of the Lab so far, the dark almost steam-punky feel it has with the depth and everything, especially around the lanterns and the roof. I really like the idea of themed rooms, keeping up the variety and having different styles so it doesn't get monotonous while also tying it together with the typical lab theme for the facilities sounds really good. So far, amazing, and keep up the good work as always, I really love your vids Etho!
Hey Etho, Have you ever thought about starting a podcast, maybe with some of the other HermitCraft players or old MindCrack players? I very much appreciate the quality of your episodes lately, and I look forward to every video. Thank you, have a good day!
I'm a fairly new to minecraft and I mostly just watch you and the hermitcraft guys and I do learn a lot about the game mechanics thanks to you lot, so this "lab" would definitely give me a lot of things to take in 👍 I do dip in art though and watching you comment about your builds remind me of making art compositions, the color you chose are perfect, there's a balance of cool and hot colors that won't burn your eyes and how you use colors to direct the viewers eyes 👍 The details are just right.
From what I saw, it seemed like he blew up a water logged chest or some other kind of destructible inventory somehow and all the items in it are activating the redstone ore simultaneously. There's probably another part of this contraption that causes the items to interact with the ore in such a way, though I can't figure out what would do that right now..
I loved everything about this episode. The respawn anchor mining is so cool, and I love the color palette/design you used in the room. Also, really tiny detail but I really liked how you put dark grey carpets on top of the polished basalt. It just looks really nice
Yeah, and he was just talking about how he tends to do that during the world tour. For what it's worth, black is a nuetral color, and blackstone is dark enough to give a nice contrast, so it'll probably get used a lot over the next several years. Generally, Etho's been making more use of shades of red, orange, and brown lately as well-granted, there's a lot of blocks with those colors. I'd think that an area focused on block breaking and mining might use some more traditional blocks (with other complimentary blocks), but I appreciate the more unique pallet.
@@Klffsj i agree, this build felt nether themed rather than old-school mining themed. but i guess his man-cave with its grass and stone is already old-school minecrafty so this is different on prupose than things from before
23:33 Mumbo Jumbo is hyperventilating at this point. He builds huge "industrial districts" and never uses all the resources. Season 4 he had an overkill egg farm, what are you going to do with all those eggs?
As stephan said build a new and/or more efficient egg farm or build machines that use eggs as ammo xD with eggs and string to detect chickens you can also make other mechanisms random. And its not always about getting the eggs for sth but for the fun to create a farm. As other ppl enjoy how a building looks.
Philip Rößler of course, I mean we’ve Mr Slab build several gold farms (my favorite is still the red overworld one) everytime trying something new. However the problem comes when it is on a server and lags the world for everyone. On the bright side, Mumbo now adds on/off buttons and Xisuma can kick him from the server if it gets too bad.
This piece looks brilliant. Just the right level of chaotic! The timer looks majestic but in a sinister way, and the colors go well together. I love the bridge over one of the passages!
the last time i saw an etho video was the ep 550 world tour the day of its release, havent kept up since then but i am happy to find out i have like 18 hours of content to catchup on in the solo world. im so appreciative of ethos patience and determination with this series its so unique to me. i love vanilla minecraft but i find it to get boring after a while and every time i play modded it just kinda feels lesser than when i achieve something great due to the mods having an affect on so much in the world. since watching ep 551 i have made a new hardcore survival world and though ill probably die and wipe any day now im happy to say etho inspired me to come back and open minecraft again after 3 years in only a single episode that was more a talk of future plans than it was actually building. Thankyou Etho.
@@Myne1001 That's a somewhat tricky and highly technical exploit that was fixed in 1.13 already. SciCraft and Hekate were in 1.12(.2) when they held their competition for obtaining a bedrock item in vanilla survival. @@TheRealWormbo oh I'm aware of that. There have been also several exploits in past versions to get bedrock. One was during the 1.9 snapshots using ender crystals.

you should add some sort of history behind block-breaking, for example when you broke wooden slabs with picks instead of an ax. It’s a fun theory, but I’m not entirely sure if it’d be faster than TNT/beds/regular mining...lowkey wanna test this out now:p
Boy I can’t wait for the caves and cliffs update to affect his world
i dont think itll do too much. he just needs to go out a few thousand blocks ot find new terrain
he might actually reset his world for the update im thinking. it seems to be making a pretty significant update to terrain generation. We'll see i guess...
@@topramen1295 possibly, I think he'll do another SMP season in 1.17 more likely tho
wireless redstone.... Etho is going into god-mode
@@topramen1295 Surely he wouldn't be starting this project then right? But like you said we'll only know when it come to it
I do like how you aren't going for the typical "sterile science lab" look like you could have. Having each room be grandiose but in their own unique way with different colors and feels is gonna make this project so dope
The idea of a bug room has me so excited, like a room that’s just totally glitched out with crazy blocks everywhere
Hey Etho, since 1.17 got revealed, are you considering changing your world type from Amplified back to Default so that you can explore the new caves? Also what's your favourite thing that was announced at Minecraft Live? Mine was the Warden.
i think he should make a new world at that point, building a new cave base in new caves would be awesome!
@@Zex-4729 If I were him, I'd go into a world editor and delete some of the unused lodaded chunks, of which I assume he has hundreds of thoudands. Would reduce the file size and save having to build thousands more blocks of nether tunnel.
@@Zex-4729 Doubt that. You can just explore new chunks (possibly deleting unused regions first) to get the new world generation. Also I'd assume the new cave generation would be compatible with amplified terrain.
@@TheRealWormbo He is not gonna have a new base with the old world, even if he builds he would not stay there. And no, there is new mountain generation + archeologist site that probabely won't generate in amplified world.
The funny thing is, Etho already had the Lush Caves for about a decade. His cave base. :)
Etho your recent building style is absolutely amazing, there is so much detail without it looking cluttered or confusing. I have no idea how you're able to build so well and keep space for everything important. Your colour theory and schemes are incredible as well. I learned how to build from VintageBeef way back when but I think I'll have to start taking notes from you now. The quality of everything on your channel is fantastic, keep up the great work my guy.
I agree ☝️
That room is gorgeous Etho, I think you're one of the best people at showing off how beautiful of a block blackstone is
Even though Etho will never say it in his video, don't forget to like and subscribe. It does really help youtubers get recommend to new viewers. A lot of us have been watching him for a while, but aren't subscribed.
Istg... every episode i see of this almost brings me to tears when i think about it. This series has been with me for so so many years, and its still just as entertaining, its just the best
The real question is what the crap is Etho gonna call his potion lab now
Etho’s lab not to be confused with Etho’s Lab
@@Da_Canadian_man ...huh?
@@hermensonsantana3090 In the first one, lab is not capitalized, but in the second, it is
cant wait to see Etho's reaction to the Skulk Sensor concept
Let us take a moment and appreciate the restraint Etho took in not burning all the diamonds needed to build those 2 haste beacons.
Yep
I wasn’t that on board with this project at first, due to a lack of a vivid goal. But after this video I think you have a good general idea on what the final product should be so I’m more confident in this project. I’m excited to see how this turns out (:
“I ran out of torches” had a whole stack of glow stone 2 minutes earlier in the video
And places sea lanterns 2 minutes later
which he used for the anchor mining
maybe when the elder guardian is sent back up it dispenses a milk bucket from the roof?
Etho: sets up all the wiring for the enderporters
mojang: 1.17 will have wireless redstone!
Etho: let's use the amplified terrain
Mojang: let's troll Etho with cave update without warning
I think the main priority for the enderporters is speed, not lack of physical wire. The sculk block transmission actually seemed pretty slow, so I don't think they'd be too much help.
The wireless redstone is slow and short range.
@@notapplicable7292 it was slow and short range in the trailer bc they used pistons. connect it to a dispenser with arrows and the range is massive.
@@RMCs_JCA Arrows are slower than pistons, nobody's going to use them if the goal is speed.
As someone who was skeptical of this project at first, I’m definitely starting to lean towards really enjoying it! Seeing you start to put the room together was super cool, and gave me a much better idea of what’s to come. I’m excited to see where it goes :) Keep up the awesome work!!
I'll be honest, I wasn't sure about the lab at first but after seeing the progress so far I have higher hopes for it! Can't wait to see how it goes
I just started watching lol but I can tell just how loyal of a fanbase this is, he talks about "our" , "we", and "us".
I love it
"My idea with the project is it's almost like we're building a base, right?"
It's never gonna get finished.
The "WooHoo" returns 🤣 my favorite etho soundbite

I have to say you never cease to amaze me, Etho. You are one of, if not THE, most creative thinker I have ever seen when it comes to MC. I have NEVER been bored by your episodes and I would watch/listen to you, no matter what you were playing. Keep up the amazing work!
Loved this video. Actually still making builds interesting. It's great to still get to watch one of my favorite things for so many years

Hmm where shuld i put my stone

There is still an unsolved mystery: how did etho get the llamas to walk around the sandy city like that!?
Dang. Should have listened finished before pausing and commenting
I know the episode he introduced them he explained them, but at this point I wonder how many people genuinely don't know (from new subs most likely)
Who is Etho? I know only Ergo
@@FaiienWings what episode was that?

This could continue to provide interesting things for you to do for a long time, and I'm sure as more of the lab is fleshed out over time you're going to win over more of the viewers who may be complaining.
oh man the block breaking lab room is quickly becoming a uniquely gorgeous build
For the block breaking room, I think it would be a good idea to include Silk Touch, since it effects what item drops from the block. Also I'm not sure if you would include plants in the category of blocks, but you can break them and sheers affect the speed, so the could be incorporated in this room or maybe in a side room.
I think he mentioned sheers while discussing the tools to add. He did say he wanted to have every block...
I love this project! Looking forward to many more episodes of this project.
Also Aqua Affinity (for the Block Breaking Room).
How can some be against Etho finally building his lab, and once and for all making EthosLab come to life?
Well the EthoSlab already exists
Well... The potion lab is also titled Etho's Lab, and that's been built for years now.
Yea i like that Breaking block pixel art aswell. Suits the wiki theme. And cleans the rough patterns
Doesn’t mind the fact that diamond armour just burned
Me: sad noob noises
He used to throw diamonds into lava
Did you see the beacons?
@@waynechuah187 * he throws diamonds in lava. He's done it fairly recently
Diamonds are so annoying and fill up your inventory so fast when you mine for redstone
Diamond armor and tools are renewable, as you can just buy them from villagers.
Mines out huge area
Etho: I just got a whole lot of stone and a place to put them.
Start fillling it back in.

We all love the Etho's Slab ;)
Hey Etho,
Have you ever thought about starting a podcast, maybe with some of the other HermitCraft players or old MindCrack players? I very much appreciate the quality of your episodes lately, and I look forward to every video. Thank you, have a good day!
Beef, Pause, Bdubs, Doc would be awesome
Yeah and maybe have minecraft gameplay in the background, talking us through what's happening..
ohh this would be amazing! I think having other people to talk to would make it easier on him too. talking to yourself is hard lol
Comment of the day material.
I would listen
I'm a fairly new to minecraft and I mostly just watch you and the hermitcraft guys and I do learn a lot about the game mechanics thanks to you lot, so this "lab" would definitely give me a lot of things to take in 👍
I do dip in art though and watching you comment about your builds remind me of making art compositions, the color you chose are perfect, there's a balance of cool and hot colors that won't burn your eyes and how you use colors to direct the viewers eyes 👍 The details are just right.
Etho really could do anything he wanted and build whatever he wanted and I would absolutely love it, you truly are a genius and incredible builder.
This is the best "let's play" ever
The redstone ore has loads of rabbits above it, right?
The world may never know
From what I saw, it seemed like he blew up a water logged chest or some other kind of destructible inventory somehow and all the items in it are activating the redstone ore simultaneously. There's probably another part of this contraption that causes the items to interact with the ore in such a way, though I can't figure out what would do that right now..
@@dt.radical I think any tile entity makes redstone ore shed/glow, I didn't even consider items. That's probably it
These montages are soothing with the rapid block placement. I look forward to how this develops. Thank you Etho!
I loved everything about this episode. The respawn anchor mining is so cool, and I love the color palette/design you used in the room. Also, really tiny detail but I really liked how you put dark grey carpets on top of the polished basalt. It just looks really nice
This seems like a classic case of "new blocks are best blocks." Seems like he's trying to cram as many of the 1.16 blocks in one build as possible.

Use them to supply the starter chickens on a new egg farm
@@Stephan-wf1ec that's stupid
@@swiyss no that's BIG BRAIN

Etho: Let's build a room to mine all the blocks.
Bedrock: Stop. Just stop.
It would be cool if he could get all the unmineable blocks and put them on display.
@@Myne1001 That's a somewhat tricky and highly technical exploit that was fixed in 1.13 already. SciCraft and Hekate were in 1.12(.2) when they held their competition for obtaining a bedrock item in vanilla survival. I believe they also plan to obtain end portal frames and (pig) spawners (the block, not spawn eggs) that way.
@@TheRealWormbo oh I'm aware of that. There have been also several exploits in past versions to get bedrock. One was during the 1.9 snapshots using ender crystals.

Wow Etho, Thank-you for explaining the project at the end. The endless "meta" aspect of the project is just perfect enough for this channel. It will keep the series going. Thank you for everything, and I cannot wait to see what you come up with.
I know this sounds really out of the blue, but one day when you build an aquarium, you could have it be underwater and glass surrounding all sides with fish around you.

Etho I just wanted to say that you have changed my life forever in the fact that I’ve always been able to come to your videos as a reliant source of entertainment joy for as long as I can remember.
These are many MANY enteties on the redstone ore, every item or entety on redstone ore got its own particles. i found that out because my skeleton mob farm was over a redstone ore and i accidentally destroyed my chest
i just saw all the bows phasing out of the corner of the blocks :)
how do you recreate that, I'm trying but it's not working?
Etho, I think all of us have noticed that when you enjoy making the projects you have in your videos, your videos are more full of life. I say as long as you enjoy making the lab, make the lab! When the day comes that either you finish it or become un-interested in the process, then we can all move on to greener pastures with you.
Also, that first room is looking a pretty nice! I particularly like the bridge, excellent use of End Rods.
i am so beyond thrilled with this project - the idea and the scope both excite the hell out of me. i can't wait to see what this project looks like in a year.
you should add some sort of history behind block-breaking, for example when you broke wooden slabs with picks instead of an ax. I'm sure there's a lot more but just an ide.
you could add a single bedrock into the block-breaking room, like scicraft did, feel like it sort of belongs there, with it being un-breakable and all
