As a western devotee myself, I would love to have access to the temples as well. However I understand the policies. The temples have to be protected from those who would cause harm. But we don’t need access to the temples to reach Sriman Narayana In Vaikuntha, we need only to chant and meditate on the Holy Names of God. Please know that this and other major temples especially in southern Indian states have been taken over by the government-- first by the British government starting in 1925 and then when India gained independence, the local state governments have controlled their management. It is very sad, and an affront to us Hindus.
I feel that if this temple were run by Hindus and not by the government, then they might have different rules of entry and so forth.

Dear devotees it is very unpleasant situation but do understand that even today people from other faith re not tolerant towards Hinduism and their Temples..ealier with colonial patronage many temples were desecrated and demolished, filth, human excreta and slaughtered cow meat were thrown inside the temple. Even in recent times Temples in Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Tamilnadu are facing arsons and desecrations by Christians. So this practice of not allowing foreigners inside Temples is in practice even Today..But in my opinion rules mist be relaxed for devotees associated with ISKCON.

Local traditions should be respected regarding temples. A vaishnav should learn from the example of humility set by Namacharya Haridas Thakur in Jagannath Puri who never entered the temple.
If you are following the path of Krishna and have not converted to hinduism , your faith in Krishna is not true. God is for everyone. But you have to submit to him and become a Hindu. Just outward changes is not enough. We will not allow out temples corrupted by people of other faiths. We cannot give them access of innermost sanctum of our temples. Pray for outside if you wish.

My father is christian and mother is hindu, yet I have followed my mother's religion since childhood and has deep faith in my Prabhu Shri Ram. Till now nobody ever stopped me in any temple but seeing this broke my heart. How can I prove that I follow hinduism. All my life people raised questions like if your father is christian how can you be hindu, you must go to church. I understand what muslims and other invaders did to our country and temples but it's heartbreaking for a Ram Bhakt if he can not prove that he his hindu and can't enter few temples.

Lete tell you one story happened in udupi during ancient time .there was a guy naned purandaradasa who was deep devotee of Krishna .Once when he entered the shree Krishna temple of udupi the people didn't let him telo enter but he went to back side of temple and started praying to Krishna due to his devotion the idol of krishna turned its back towards the temple and its face towards where purandara dasa where he was praying and the window was formed through which Krishna gave blessings to him .uts still there in udupi Krishna temple

The main reason for this restriction is to protect the temple from miscreants spoiling the place. There has been incidents in the past that some people from different religion would enter holy places with the intention to damage the premise in whatever way they can and so this restriction was put in place.

By not allowing pure Vaishnavas inside it is the temple authorities who are doing the sin . Nobody can stop krishna to meet his pure devotee so evil people did try stop kanakdasa from entering the temple but what happened they were unable to and krishna himself turned his face .
For great vaisnavas like mataji and prabhuji krishna is always with them . Each and every act which they do is for the service of the supreme lord. They do 16 rounds of beads chanting of hare krishna Mantra a day . How many copies of bhagvad gita they distributed this jamastami you know ? You can check it on their channel .
The problem is the temple allows meat eating and Hindus who are busy in their sense gratification to enter only because they are indians but not pure vaisnavas only because they are born in a different body what logic ?

As a Hindu, the most irritating thing for me was seeing non-Hindus being prohibited from entering the Guruvayoor temple, and I don't know how the hell these people have the right to do it. It looks like they're the parents of Lord Krishna. That is his place, not the government's! But they own the temple, so their rules apply, and I despise them. A world without war, regional or caste divisions, and only love is what I imagine. As long as the human race is alive, it wouldn't happen, but I'm hoping to let future generations have the audacity to change something in history

In the absence of this, a purification ceremony is conducted otherwise. Personally, I do believe that all people practicing Sanatana dharma must be allowed in temples. But there has been some cases of indecent behavior by the foreigners in temples. Temples are places of worship and hence meant for offering prayers by those who practice the religion. They are not places of tourism. Unfortunately, such incidents adversely affect the genuine followers too.

It's not any past experience. Guruvayoor Temple is ruled by the Government of Kerala. They won't allow the religions inside the temple because other religions don't want it. When singer Yesudas tried to get permission to get inside the temple, Christians were against it and govenemnt never gave permission. Because influential people and a Chirstian like Yesudas worshiping in a temple is not seen as good for Christianity. They are afraid that if Christians of Muslims go and worship in those temples and follow Hindu practices, it might result in people reverting back to Hinduism. So it's actually bad to block people based on religion. Ypu must allow everyone who are ready to respect and follow rituals in the Temple. The loss if for Hindus if we block people.

It's all wrongdoings in the history starting from medieval period till 19th century when invaders made many attempts to steal wealth, destroy temples and demean deities.
Bharatiy people's patience were being tested and the rules became strict and strict.
Now Hindus from India (like me) can't even go to dhaam and mandir for darshan, but Hindus from around the globe are travelling across India's mandir to get darshan but denied at many places.
