- Comparing the different tips for the LEXX MX Muffler and comparing to the stock 350 EXC-F muffler.
Loud exhaust is not what I was looking for. I just needed something slightly louder because the EXC-F is a street legal bike, so it has a very quiet pipe to meet street requirements. Since my bike was so quiet, I found it difficult to hear my bike over the other bikes when battling for position. The 40mm with the spark arrestor passes the decible tests at the races and now I can hear my RPMs instead of hearing the bike next to me. I hope this is helpful for anyone like me, not wanting to spend the high amounts on name brand mufflers.
THIS IS HOW EXHAUST SHOULD BE COMPARED! good job sir!!
Thanks, buddy.
Fantastic video, even 4 years ago it's still helping folks out. Thank you
Great to hear!
Man seriously just found this video and all I can say I wish more videos on youtube would compare exhaust like this congrats man great video.
Thanks for taking the time to do this comparo...very helpful!
Happy to help! I was looking for a video like this when I was considering buying one so I figured I’d help the next guy out.
Very good comparison video! I wish they all were this easy to watch
Thank you!
What a great video man I was really curious on what the sound differences are with the baffle and you nailed it you deserve to be sponsored by luxx with these quality reviews
Thanks! I had to buy it to find out haha
Great job! You were able to make a video that actually compares the sounds, not just startup and rev in the garage. 👏
I’m glad you appreciate it. I was frustrated with the ‘revving in garage’ videos when I was looking into buying it 😂. Figured I’d help the next guy out 👍
Completely! I just stumbled upon your channel, looking for a new exhaust for my CRF450X. Like you, I’ve been riding about 20 years but just trails and desert fun with my buddies. Just started getting into Enduro at 36. Hopefully I can keep up with you! Haha
Nice, man! Enduro is a lot of fun. I raced the 2017 season but didn't take it too seriously. I never really worked on techniques so I decided I should at least be trying to improve if i'm going to be racing haha
Beautiful! Just what I was looking for :-)
Amazing video bro … very helpful 🙌🏽
Glad to hear it!
Excellent job man! Great comparison video!
Thanks!
This video is really helpful and the bike sounds great
great video !
Great video and analysis. Thanks!
Wow. Excellent video. Thanks
Great editing!
Good work
Awesome job, well done. It's weird it doesn't have an internal mechanical baffle like the Q4 FMF. The design is very close to my stock CRF. The spark arrestor didn't seem to make as much impact as I was hoping ? there is a 34mm tip as well. Guessing you didn't try that ?
Thanks bud. I didn’t try the 34. I believe that’s the one that curves toward the ground which I guess results in the noise not traveling as far? It would be interesting to compare.
Nah. They do a 34mm race tip as well as the 40 and 46.
@@landerzone2643 have you tried it ?
Very helpfull
Thanks for the video! Does the LEXX pipe stick our further from the rear of the bike or are they about the same length?
They’re both approximately the same length.
Thanks for the info.
Happy to help 👍
Good job here. Questions: 1) Quality of the Lexx compared to OEM or? 2) Weight compared to OEM muffler? 3) Do all of the screens and tips come with the initial purchase? 4) EZ repacking? thx
Thanks.
1) Quality is good. I think the oem is probably higher quality but after a few years of enduro abuse it’s still in great shape.
2) I know I weighed them both but I lost the data. It’s definitely lighter than my oem (mine is the street legal oem muffler though) but I can’t remember how much lighter.
3) Mine came with two tips but now I believe it just comes with one tip.
4) I don’t have experience repacking.
Great video. Thanks . Did you have to adjust the fuel mapping or TPS after installing that?
I read that you should remap if you replace the muffler and header. I only replaced the muffler and did no remapping. I’ve been using it for 2+ years with no issues.
Wow. All of those setups are louder than stock. I am looking for something even quieter than stock on my 2012 350. I am surprised that even with the Lexx MXe Trail Saver Quiet Core insert (which I thought had a curved down tip) the bike is still slightly louder than stock. Did your bike feel any stronger with the Trail Saver insert? Would you say that power increased with noise with each setup?
Mine is the 350 exc-f which is the street legal version, so that stock muffler is extremely quiet. There’s one more tip that I don’t have (the curved one you mentioned) which might be quieter than your stock muffler. I didn’t really notice a power difference with any of them.
Lookin at getting a EXC-F 350 or 500 to be tagged to get to riding areas.
350 all the way.
Do you think the first, longer insert is enough of a sound improvement. Im looking for a better sound without being obnoxious. Thanks. Also do all inserts come with the muffler?
Yes, it’s certainly a good sound improvement with that longer insert. When I bought it, it came with two tips and I can’t recall which two. Now it looks like it might only come with one tip.
👍👍
Did you do a weight comparison between the OEM and Lexx mufflers? Other than sound was there any performance difference between the OEM muffler and the different Lexx tips? thx
I know I weighed them and the Lexx was lighter but I can’t find the weight info anywhere. Not sure if there’s any performance change. The bike felt the same after installing.
Will the 40mm pass a sound decibel test?
Yeah, I’m pretty sure that’s what I had installed when I passed the sound decibel test at a national enduro 👍
How is this exhaust doing pal?
Very good. Still in use 👍
Where did you get the exhaust at?
Probably RockyMountainATV but I don't recall.
what do you think sounds deeper?
The 46mm has the deepest note but you get some unpleasant noises out of that one occasionally. Also, the 46mm won’t pass decibel tests.
@@masteringenduro5354 ok thanks man, and if i’m just riding for fun i don’t need to past decibel needs right?. and what kind of noises does it make like over cut noises?
It can sound raspy with the 46mm occasionally.
@@masteringenduro5354 alright understood, for a yfz450 is their a full kit with the slip on or no, i’m new to all this stuff, i don’t know if i should buy a lower pipe to?
Great comparison ! Thanks man!
