I'm sure you'll never see this, but when I was suicidal and my husband was deployed in Afghanistan, being attacked. I would listen to some days every single day and run down the same road and back and somehow I'd feel better. Then I stumbled across this song, and it was so close to the heart. My husband even slept on the right side of the bed. He still does. You got me through a 9 month deployment, with all of your albums combined, and you saved my life. I've seen you twice. I saw you the first time in Watertown ny, you probably don't even remember. But I was 15 and you guys weren't well known. You played with forever the sickest kids and metro station. John, you were so sweet, you signed my pants and my friends pants and took a picture with us. Then I saw you two years ago at warped tour in Buffalo NY. I didn't get to meet you that time. But you have made such an impact on my life, gotten me through the hardest of times and because of you, I'm still alive. Thank you.
The fact that this is one of John's poems makes me wanna cry a lot because of what it means to him
It may seem impossible, but whenever I feel utterly and completely hopeless, this songs always reassures me. I don't understand it myself, but whenever I need to calm down, this song does the trick. Such an amazing song.

Everything before the second chorus feels so dark and helpless, but just then the second chorus starts and I think it's the part where you feel HOPE and JOY. I have been listening to this song since the EP's release, and this song never fails to get me. I LOVE YOU, THE MAINE.
