I did this recipe today and it was soon good, taste savory with little spicy flavor and you can taste the fresh cilantro, thumps up!...I boiled beans for 1 hr with half onion and salt. Once cooked I did the rest according to recipe but in stove top for 35 minutes, came out really good.
Where's the recipe?
I too am thinking of cooking the beans first!

We have a similar type of bean in Jammu and Kashmir ( India). In river plains, it is same as Red kidney beans, but in Hi altitude mountain with cooler temperature, it is red, smaller and has a unique taste.

This looks delicious! Can I use adzuki beans that are already cooked in this recipe? If so what would the instant pot time change to? Thank you

Tweaks: I found adding 2 bay leaves at the start of cooking added a welcome backnote of tannin, and (for non-vegans) some good chicken base rounded out the flavor and salt, and a knob of butter at the end added a velvety enrichment that made the absence of meat less apparent.
BTW, for my fellow homecooks who lack a pressure cooker, plan on a simmer time of about 50-60 mins before the beans are soft enough to begin to cream/thicken, and you can speed the thickening at the end by muddling the curry a little with a potato masher.
BTW, this basic recipe is pretty ubiquitous in indian cuisine - it works pretty well with masoor dal (red lentils), channa dal (yellow lentils), or just about any type of dal or bean, or even a mix of same. Use what ya got, then tweak it at the end to finesse the flavor.
Yummy 😋 which pressure cooker are u using here?
It’s Fissler Vitaquick.
Thank you
