Romanian here, we were always taught in school
Blue : Sky and Black Sea
Yellow : Crops and Sun
Red : Blood of those who fought for freedom

Blue: Transylvania and black sea
Yellow: Wallachia and crops
Red: Moldova and the blood
i was taught , Blue Wallachia , Yellow Transylvania , Red Moldova :))

I was hoping they'd mention that
Jesus Christ, man, the dude is making an informational video for the general masses, he is not going to nitpick every single little detail of our history and culture.
Yeah, I'm a romanian too, but for the sake of the international understatement and common sense, I am using the english language, please don't judge me.

Heres a fun fact: the monastery from the movie "the nun" was a romanian one, at some point theres also a romanian speaking character. The main filming location for the "the princess switch" movie was a romanian castle/region. Anastasia soare (owner of Anastasia beverly hills brand) is also romanian, as well as the Mario badescu brand. And here are some other really good romanian deserts: cozonac (a type of sweet bread w chocolate and nuts filling) and papanași (doughnuts filled w jam and topped w cream). Hope that helped ^^

Easy home ownership, high 4G network speed, and a lack of population?
I'm sold.
you know what's even easier here? Being homeless.
@@llVIU What does that have to do with anything? Yes there are homeless people. In every country there are homeless people. Yes of course it s easier to be homeless because it means you don t have to buy a house. Duuuuh. Thanks Captain Obvious, none of us would have figured this out if you didn' t tell us. What was the point of this comment anyway? I don t get if you were trying to be funny or to be a smartass but regardless you failed.
Ok so Romanian people DON'T actually own things easily. Most of us go to the bank, get a huge credit that we pay most of our life (up to 30 years) so yea we have a HOUSE an APARTAMENT but it isn't entirely ours..would be better to say it is the bank's property till you pay it 😅
But again, most Romanian think it is better to pay for a credit and in the end you get something than paying the same amount monthly for a rent. Which makea sense but I think the other countries are used to moving to other regions, to relocate for job oportunities which isn't well seen in Romania. Most people settle for one place so they decide to buy a household therea (making us always stressed with the debt, because if you can't afford the rent, giess what? You choose a cheaper one! But you can't choose to pay less with a bank :)) l
I actually taught the colours meant this
Blue : Sky
Yellow : Crops
Red : BLOOD OF TH- actually I think you got it.
Anyways the colour meanings you said in the video are right aswell (there are plenty)
Edit : And don't worry your pronunciations we're very great!

You didn`t mention Iasi one of the most important cities in Romania and you only mentioned places only in Wallachia and Transylvania. Here in Moldavia (Suceava fortress, Neamnt fortress,Voronet Monastery, Bicaz Gorge etc.)
In Iasi:
-first theater in Romania
-first University in Romania
-capital of Romania during WW1
-Gustave Eifflel (man who build the Eiffel tower) was here and build a hotel (Hotel Traian)
-Palace of Culture
-Golia monastery
etc.

Wasn't it the original capital of Romania in the early days while it was still under the ottomans as well but then they changed it to Bucharest ?
Robertos Ungureanu No
But it was the temporary capital of Romania during WW1 when Bucharest was under foreign occupation.
And the fact that Iași really is the second biggest city of Romania.
I was just standing on the channel, waiting for Flag Friday!
I'm half Romanian, and in school I had learnt that blue is the sky and the sea, the yellow is the fertility of the soil, chiefly the wheat and corn, while the red is the blood shed by the defenders of that land. Some other famous Romanians that could have been mentioned include Mihai Eminescu (the poet guy) and Gheorghe Zamfir (the pan flute guy). Also, other famous people with Romanian roots are Natalie Portman, Wynona Ryder, Harvey Keitel and the first and original Tarzan Johnny Weismuller. The inventor of the jet engine, Henri Coandă was Romanian. Romania has a rich history in aviation with too many names to mention here.
yes JHONNY WEISMULLER is atypical Romanian name, hi was't even born in Roumania you dickhead !
I would have also mentioned the historic town of Sighisoara, Transfăgărășan scenic mountain pass, Sinaia ski resort, beach resort towns of Mamaia. Also, the largest and tallest Orthodox Church in the world located in Bucharest, the People's Salvation Cathedral. Ya, lots of diverse places of interest packed in a relatively small country.

Also worth noting is that the Romanian language is the only *modern* Romance language that still retains grammatical case, albeit a heavily simplified form thereof. In most languages that use grammatical case, such as Latin, German and the Slavic languages, nominal phrases are modified based on their function in a sentence, with the nominative being the standard form used for the subject of a sentence, the genitive being the possessive form (i.e. "of" or apostrophe-S), the dative being the indirect object (i.e. being given or told something or some similar action), the accusative being the direct object, and often a few other cases such as instrumental, ablative, locative etc. that roughly correspond to prepositions in English. Romanian, however, has merged the nominative with the accusative, and likewise with the genitive and dative cases, so its case system works roughly the same as that of German's feminine gender.
Also, here's a fun little tidbit: Romania is also known in the _Harry Potter_ universe for being the home of the dragon. Or at least Ron's older brother, Charlie, has a job looking after dragons there.
