Great video, Macc Man. Haven't been there for years. I know it was all the rage in the 80s, along with Prestatyn. Just like every town in the UK, rather tatty and run down in places. Crap news about the small business owners. Keep the tours coming.
My grandmother Rita was born in Rhyl in 1928 before she moved to Bargoed, South Wales, another once great town but declined over the years after the closure of Bargoed Colliery in 1977.
Hi l had a caravan on sandy bay in rhyl right next to the gate left hand side we had a white walk way built around the caravan we got rid 12yr ago caravan is still there love to know who owns it now daughter grown up didnt want to go down anymore she hated going down every friday from school unless mate was with her nothing change looks like its gone down 🍻cheers anyway for showing vid
It's the Irish Sea at Rhyl, but we know what you mean. You need to go to the west coast of Ireland to see the Atlantic rollers or Cornwall perhaps. I have fond memories of Rhyl there are some beautiful places all around that area and the local people are some of the most generous and warm folks I have met. My late Grandmother was Welsh and I always feel at home there. Sadly these days most of the UK is looking past its best and run down.
Sad to see the decline in Rhyl, I holidayed there for a week in the 80's when it was still quite a prosperous tourist resort. I feel sorry for those business owners... It's tragic really.
Rhyl needs tourists even day trippers. I've noticed on the day trip list in the Midlands, rhyl has always been on there but this year there is not one coach day trip there. How is rhyl suppose to get revived if no one goes there. Everyone in the UK go to rhyl even if it's a day trip get it back on the map. I must say rhyl is looking a hell if a lot better than the back streets of Blackpool
For England, Wales, and Northern Ireland as a whole, Rhyl is the most dangerous medium-sized town, and the 91st most dangerous location out of all towns, cities, and villages. Crime Rate UK
I can remember coach loads going to Rhyl from the working men’s clubs in the early 80s for a day out 😞
Looking good Mark. Rhyl was always a favourite day out. Colwyn bay also nice. Not too far away. 👍

Great video. Thank you MM.
It's a dump in the 70 and late 70 in was a great seaside town but now it all gone
23:41 That window has been left open for a very long time now, I'm sure the inside is filthy from all the birds going in and out

I totally agree Dawn, and I'll certainly pay Rhyl another visit, thank you for watching :-)
