Thanks for pulling. There's 0% chance I spend 200$ on a hobby to get Osvaldo Bido auto. Havent seen many good pulls out of this set to justify that money with this vid and others. Great vid!

You said it. Potential MVP's are gonna be tough pulls. I've seen 5 boxes opened so far and I've only seen one Gunnar and one Soto. No Judge or Ohtani. Maybe blasters or megas will be better.

Today was a great day, 2024 Topps Chrome released! I scored a Jumbo Hobby for $400.00 at a local hobby shop🎉 It was loaded. Very satisfying rip! Have a great vacation sir.

I’ve watched 3 or 4 rips (hobby and jumbos) and all but 1 of the autos so far have been been pitchers - and that was one of the ones out of a jumbo

I think you just had a tough box. These are super hit or miss. The ceiling is super high though. I got 3 #’d one of them was my auto. I also got lucky with a case hit of Junior Caminero Rookie Rush card. I like how many rookies the set has and getting a parallel or insert every pack is fun. Im sure your luck will change. Have a blast on vacation!

I was able to pull a Trevor Story purple parallel to /275 out of the 2 blasters I got today. Price point is going to be a huge factor. My LCS was selling them for $42. I did get a Shohei prism refractor(which is up on eBay as we speak). But I've noticed a ton of rookie cards. Got 27/56 cards between 2 blasters.

Thanks for the video! The hardest working man in the hobby RUclips. Enjoy your vacation! I haven't seen a lot of case hits in this product, but the negative parallels are flying outta them. I gotta say, out of the 5 video rips of this product, I seen 3 only Judge cards and only 1 Gunnar card. The rarest card I've seen pulled was an Ultra Violet. I'm starting to think that Breaker's Delight has most of the big hits.

I will admit that these are sharp and if not so expensive and maybe better pulls I would be all in. I watched a video of a 500.00 dollar Hobby Box that basically was a toilet flush! I understand this is a gamble, but odds are against us and in favor of them cashing in. I do miss the old timer cards, and cards of players I grew up watching.
I guess there is some old timer autos in here! But they are hard to pull

These are my favorite pack by far!
My box - Jasson Dominguez auto (sold for $210 in 10 minutes on Ebay), Corbin Carroll /125, Chris Murphy /250 and pulled an Aaron Judge (I figured it's him and Ohtani). All-Etch and Summertime are really my style. Funny thing on late birthday Chrome Autos - Someone has a Tarik Skubal parallel on card because of that from me. In fairness, who the hell was he two years ago? Our boxes are $220 and $500 for jumbo, so even with my box ... I may be one and done.

Thanks for the video and dedication. Welp....got my hobby.... highlights were a magenta numbered "no name" rc, a blue /150 Bo bichette with nice color match, and a MVP buyback '23 refractor Shohei to /99. The auto was a no name (Tyler Cropley )rc.. born in 95 too! Oofta. I did get some decent refractors and a decent number of base RCs. I'd give myself a "C+" on the box. Fun rip. Let's go!

Chrome is either good like last year or bad like the farce of 2022. Hopefully, the Blasters from Fanatics will be stellar like in 2023.

Great video. I was wanting to collect this set earlier this year, but after the prices were announced they are just out of my range. I have seen videos of rips and some of them have been terrible rips. Just not good odds for a product.
Yeah that increased checklist really hurts the product too
i’m biased but my sleeper MVP is J-Ram for my Guards. Otherwise i’d say Judge, Soto, or Gunnar in no order

I think the negative took the place of another numbered card. Maybe I’m wrong but that negative is a tough pull so I think normally you would get another numbered card.

I had a similar situation with my hobby box. A nobody, non-numbered RC auto of a Royals player and a couple good name rookies including Elly and PCA. I got 1 numbered nobody RC in Purple and a Reverse Negative no number McCutchen. Best subset pull was a Kjerstad '89 version. My best pull of the box was a Prizm Elly, not numbered. Waiting for my other boxes to arrive.

I prefer the prism cards. I have several graded prism RCs.
BTW: I bought 2 hobby boxes and opened 1. I pulled a green wave RC Saalfrank, magenta speckle Gerritt Cole, and a blue RC auto of Jackson Holiday. I’m stoked especially since I’m an Orioles fan. It’s getting graded and going into my auto PC.

Yours was the first Hobby box break I've seen with only 1 numbered card. The negative refractors have been more rare than I thought, but still you did not get a great box, except for those rookie refractors.

@westernnycards one thing I've noticed is several Hobby boxes have had almost all refractors be rookies. But so many rookies also increases the likelihood of a less than stellar auto. So, tradeoffs, I suppose. You would think the increase in set size and decrease in print run would mean more numbered cards per Hobby box, especially at higher price points.
It sucks that they killed the hype with $200 per box. Happy to be ripping some blasters (got for a discount) and monsters

Much better products to rip - even from Topps... to start, there are 14,000 base refractors and some 1,400 base autos of each player on their respective checklist (except for the chases) - just wait, and buy the TC singles in a month.
Buying singles is always a better solution, but that’s no fun for the channel! Lol

Currently watching this. You said the base cards are the only ones that are eligible for buy back. That’s not true. All the cards of that player are eligible and different values based on rarity.
I have never been allowed to turn in an insert for buyback value. I’m talking inserts, not parallels. Base cards are 20, base parallels are 40 and numbered parallels can go up to 200. But base INSERTS are ineligible at my LCS
Price up, value down with the extended checklist.
