Ah kid cuisine, I remember when I ate those as a kid and watching the newest movie out that they promoted on the box. Some didn't like that warm pudding but oddly, I liked it. I'll eat both hot and cold. We used to eat the banquet chicken whenever we wanted fried chicken and got sick from it one time. Even the dog got sick.
This is probably the most off-the-wall compliment you'll receive for this video, but I like your microwave The way it opens like an oven just pleases my soul
The reason why frozen meals have really high sodium content while still needing salt is that the sodium present in them is not sodium chloride (table salt), it's various other sodium compounds that are used as preservatives. The body (for the most part) still absorbs it as it would table salt, thus increasing sodium intake in your body.
800mg of sodium is also nowhere near as big of a deal as they make it out to be, especially in a meal that is half potato by weight, providing enough potassium to balance ot the electrolytes. Just drink a glass of water with it and it's all good, you can even add a pinch of salt, that is gonna be more sodium than there is in your food already. Water solves so many "problems" we create for ourselves it's kinda crazy.
21:22 The reason why blowing on things causes it to cool down is because of how heat energy works. For instance, when you blow onto hot food, the air you blow out is colder than the food, causing some of the heat from the food to be carried away into the air. It is also why your food cools down after being left in the fridge or on a counter, as the air absorbs the heat energy inside. Not a five paragraph response, but it covers everything you need to know 👍

High sodium without being salty can be caused by other things like preservatives and other flavor enhancers that contain sodium but aren't table salt and don't taste "salty"

21:33 it's because the air right above the food gets hot quickly but since still air is a very good insulator, the heat can't move anywhere else. when you blow on it, it moves that air that's right above it away and replaces it with colder air, that gets heated up, blown away, replaced and the cycle continues. Similar reason why windy and cold days feel a lot colder than same temp but not as windy. the air is cold, nature tries to correct the temp difference by sucking heat out of you so you get a small layer of heated air around you, the wind blows it away (or you move even a quarter inch) it gets replaced with other colder air, the faster that happens, the more heat is removed from your body and the colder you feel. Convective vs conductive heat transfer. There's whole equations you can get into for them to find how much energy is moved and how fast but I'm not a college professor.

he asked for it... Blowing on hot food is a common method people use to cool it down quickly, and there is a scientific explanation for why it works. When food is hot, it has a layer of warm air surrounding it. This layer acts as an insulating barrier that slows down the rate at which the food cools. Blowing on the food disrupts this warm air layer, replacing it with cooler air. By continuously removing this insulating layer, the food's surface is exposed to cooler air repeatedly, helping it lose heat more quickly. Another reason blowing on food cools it down is related to the principles of evaporation. Hot food, especially when it's moist, has some amount of steam or liquid on its surface. Blowing on the food increases the rate at which water molecules can escape as vapor. This process, known as evaporation, requires energy in the form of heat. As water molecules leave the food's surface, they take some of the heat energy with them, effectively lowering the temperature of the food. The faster you blow, the more you encourage evaporation, speeding up the cooling process. Blowing also creates a mini "wind chill" effect. In the same way that a cold breeze can make a winter day feel even colder, blowing on food enhances the rate of heat loss from the food's surface. This effect is especially noticeable when the food is very hot because the temperature difference between the food and the surrounding air is more pronounced. The blown air cools down the surface quickly, making it safer and more comfortable to eat sooner. The process of convection also plays a role in why blowing on food works. Convection is the transfer of heat by the movement of fluids-in this case, air. When you blow on hot food, you replace the warm air surrounding the food with cooler air from your breath. This movement of cooler air facilitates the transfer of heat from the food to the surrounding air. Convection, combined with evaporation, is a powerful way to reduce the food's temperature efficiently. In conclusion, blowing on food to cool it down is effective because it disrupts the insulating layer of warm air around the food, enhances evaporation, creates a wind chill effect, and promotes heat transfer through convection. All of these processes work together to reduce the temperature of the food more quickly than if it were left to cool on its own. This simple act combines principles of thermodynamics and heat transfer, making it an effective way to safely enjoy hot food.

Blowing on food to cool it down is a common practice, particularly when the food is too hot to eat. This method leverages basic principles of thermodynamics, primarily focusing on the transfer of heat through convection and evaporation. When we blow air onto hot food, we initiate a cooling process that involves both increasing heat dissipation and enhancing moisture evaporation. Firstly, when we blow on hot food, the air we exhale carries away some of the heat. The process of convection plays a significant role here. As we blow air onto the food, the cooler air from our breath replaces the warmer air surrounding the food. This movement of air increases the overall heat transfer rate, as the cooler air can absorb heat from the hot food more effectively than the still, warm air that was previously in contact with it. Secondly, blowing on food also promotes evaporation, which is another crucial aspect of cooling. Hot food often contains moisture, and as the temperature increases, the moisture can start to evaporate. When we blow on the food, we not only increase the surface area from which moisture can evaporate but also help carry away the water vapor that forms. This process of evaporation is endothermic, meaning it requires heat energy, which is drawn from the food, leading to further cooling. In addition to convection and evaporation, the temperature difference between the air we blow and the food plays a vital role. Our breath is typically cooler than the food, and this temperature gradient facilitates heat transfer. The greater the difference in temperature, the more efficient the cooling process will be. Thus, the act of blowing on food is an effective way to bring its temperature down quickly, making it more palatable. Finally, it’s worth noting that while blowing on food is an effective method for cooling, it may not be suitable for all types of dishes. Foods with a lot of liquid, for example, might not cool as quickly because the liquid can retain heat. However, for solid foods or those with a significant surface area, blowing on them can be a simple and effective way to enhance comfort and safety before eating. Overall, this everyday action is a fascinating intersection of physics and culinary practice.
Blowing on hot food can be an effective way to cool it down. This is because when you blow air over the food, you send air close to your body temperature (98.6°F/37°C) and use it to replace warmer air in a process known as convection. This increases the rate of heat transfer, allowing the food to cool faster. When you blow on food containing moisture, you can also enact evaporative cooling, which is more effective for cooling liquids than solid foods. Breaking up the food into smaller pieces can also help it cool faster. Blowing on hot food is not the only way to cool it down. Other methods include adding ice cubes into the food or using an ice paddle to cool it internally without watering down the final product. A commercial blast chiller can also be used to quickly and effectively cool food and get it out of the danger zone. Blowing on hot food increases the rate of heat transfer and evaporation, cooling it down faster. This is due to convection, where cooler air replaces warmer air around the mug or plate, and evaporativecooling, which works better with dishes that have a lot of moisture. Evaporative cooling is a process in which water evaporation removes heat from a system. It works on the principle of water evaporation, reducing the air temperature by 15°- to 40°F-before it is directed into the home. Evaporative cooling differs from other air conditioning systems as it relies on this principle. The two-stage cooling process is the most effective way to cool food quickly and safely. This involves seperating the food into smaller portions, covering it loosely while it cools, stirring it with an ice paddle or using an ice bath, and placing it in the refrigerator until it reaches 41°F or below. Adding ice cubes to food can also help cool it down quickly, but this should only be done for recipes that would not be watered down by added ice cubes. Additionally, stirring food with an ice paddle can help cool food internally without watering down the final product.

Peebs! What shirt do you have on during the sponsorship portion of the video? It looks super cool and I want one! Also, I think it would be really funny if you did Kid Cuisine for a week!
Same thing happened to with food trauma . My granny forced me to eat lentils and I threw it all up . She never forced me to eat them or anything I didn't like ever again!!!
I love stewed apples. I think I've gone out of my way 3 times this month just to make them. I don't add any sugar though, if anything I sometimes add lemon.
Some people (like myself) have sensory issues, it's not really a problem for me in apple pie, but just cooked apples by themselves (or applesauce which is up there with ketchup as one of my least favorite foods) just have a texture I can't stand.
I'm in no way a picky eater and I just want to say that it's ok if you're a picky eater. I think a variety of food is best, but hey - eat what you want, and expand your food choices if you want to and at your pace, and don't apologize for being a picky eater. You're good (just like with my vegan friends, you choose the place I'll be able to find something to eat!) Also, physical and mental aversions to food that have made you throw up is a very real thing, and it's totally fine! It's why I can't eat artichoke anymore.
Yep, people saying it's not ok for adults to be picky eaters are wrong. I can't eat a lot of things because of sensory issues, so I just avoid them (things like applesauce, watermelon, jello, and pudding)

I'm with you on spoons Peebs. I stopped eating microwave dinners regularly 20 years ago, but even on the rare cases I have them today, there's never a protein in them that genuinely calls for a knife and fork. It's all mush.
7:59 Dude, as a fellow father, I feel that o7
21:31 push's hot air away / heat transfer.
hot things have quicker atoms, like boiling water and cold stuff has slower atoms like ice. When you blow on it the atoms slow down or something like that
He's doing a lot of "i eat X for a week" I think he should do a "I cook X for a week" and I'll volunteer as tribute. So i auggest you come over and cook me meals for a week and I'll judge for a video.
I use to watch you do your Easter egg videos like 9 years ago now and to see your content is still amazing makes me so happy. Thank you PBG. My favorite quote ever, “hey look his arm fell off.. PUT IT IN YOUR MOUTH!! He doesn’t need it, He’s a druggie!”
Today we found Peeb's dump stat... cooked apples. HE PUT NO WORK IN THEM!
This doesn’t have much to do with the video, but I just Have to say it. I’ve been watching PBG since 2011. I’ve been a fan since I was 11 years old and I’m so glad he’s continuing to upload quality content to this day. Never stop Peebs, you’re the best!
Ain’t this interesting! Happy Halloween!
I really liked the Life Cuisine's crust when I tried it. Never knew Cauliflower went so well as a pizza crust. Bought a full sized Cauliflower frozen pizza because of it and it just tasted like a normal pizza...
You should do the Boston market meals for a week
God I miss BM so much. We have like 2 still open in Ohio
I often watch these while eating lunch or dinner. Today I ate a southwest chicken salad while I watched this. Love your vids, Peebs! Keep up the good work
Hi Peebs👋 also happy Halloween
You too!
the moment you said you had tried one specific lean cuisine back in the day, i immediately knew it was pizza LOL
id love to see kid cuisine in the future, eventually if you do banquet or hungry-man you should have brutalmoose on as a guest star since he has a long history with both frozen meal companies
Still waiting on that one week Peanut/Peanut Butter products video. Not trying to sound impatient.
Keep up the great work btw 👍
When it comes to Lean cuisine my personal favorites were the five cheese rigatoni and the white cheddar mac and cheese
EVERYONE!! PEEBS' DOGS ARE HAPPY!! YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO COMMENTS!!! love ya Peebs and you're a great dog dad
not all sodium is "salty", a lot of the preservatives they use in frozen meals are sodium-based, but not all of it tastes like salt.
16:30 Wine and a Lean Cuisine; bro just had "girl dinner" 😂

COOKED APPLE HATERS RISE UP
Blowing on hot food can be an effective way to cool it down.
Its like hungry man but for people that don’t want to diet so they eat this and tell people they’re on a diet
Lmfao
Wait a second, let me heat up my lean cuisine five cheese rigatoni to eat while I watch
omg my brain registered this as kid cuisine
can u do healthy choice cafe steamers they have a Spicy chicken and rice bowl that i really like
banquet would be really nice too i LOVE their salisbury steak meal and the buffalo chicken mac and cheese bowls
Eat Factor For 1 Week
He probably can’t since hello fresh owns factor
Idk why i read this as eat fear factor for a week 😂😂😂 imagine that. "I eat bugs for a week"
@@quintessencesor it wouldn’t be a 100% honest review 😂
i love these vids pls never stop
Gotta go for that banquet Salisbury steak if you do frozen stuff.
Definitely do a part 2 for the frozen pizza! Because of you I now like “screaming Italian” pizza
Thinking that apple dessert was disgusting is so strange. I've never known anyone that adverse to that kind of thing
I think it has to do with the texture, I know a few people who will not eat super mushy foods
@@Bill30006 Yeah, for me personally the texture was always the big turn off, but cooking them gives them an unappealing flavor as well. Usually they're cooked into a horrific sickly sweet slop. Blegh. I'll eat a fresh apple happily enough, but cooking it ruins everything I enjoy about it.
I know the Banquet ones taste like cardboard with sugar and nothing else
People are so weird. So picky.
Yeah, I get that the baby mush texture isn't appealing, but, ya know.
Hate ruined apples with a burning passion it’s just a crime against apples
This was a great video! I found the section about sodium to be very well articulated
Lunchley time. Get ready for some mould.
uh oh
"I like my cheese moldy bruh" lol
I ate mold every day for 1 Week
I love stewed apples. I think I've gone out of my way 3 times this month just to make them. I don't add any sugar though, if anything I sometimes add lemon.
I don't understand how anyone could hate cooked apples. Apple pie is one of the most delicious things in the world.
i like the flavor of cooked apples but the texture reminds me of eating slugs. Can't eat cooked apples unless I'm in a slug eating mood
Some people (like myself) have sensory issues, it's not really a problem for me in apple pie, but just cooked apples by themselves (or applesauce which is up there with ketchup as one of my least favorite foods) just have a texture I can't stand.
Suiza in this case is a specific type of enchilada, ergo the sourcream sauce.
Try Banquet! Their Salisbury steak meal is pretty good
Can’t believe you’re alive
I’m not
you should get as many different frozen pizzas as you can/want and do a frozen pizza tierlist/ranking video
You won't believe what I'm about to tell you
@@TanPolarBear has he done that?
@@electriccleric He posted one about 9 months ago. It's pretty good 👍
@ that's just another 1 week thing though. I'm saying like, a big "pizza showdown" of as many pizzas as he can get his hands on
I love these videos!! Thanks sooo much Peebs
Spoon gang rise up. Far superior to forks.
I'm in no way a picky eater and I just want to say that it's ok if you're a picky eater. I think a variety of food is best, but hey - eat what you want, and expand your food choices if you want to and at your pace, and don't apologize for being a picky eater. You're good (just like with my vegan friends, you choose the place I'll be able to find something to eat!)
Also, physical and mental aversions to food that have made you throw up is a very real thing, and it's totally fine! It's why I can't eat artichoke anymore.
Yep, people saying it's not ok for adults to be picky eaters are wrong. I can't eat a lot of things because of sensory issues, so I just avoid them (things like applesauce, watermelon, jello, and pudding)
Don’t worry Peebs, I also HATE cooked apples, especially apple pie.
*I know you asked for suggestions on what frozen dinners you should do next. Can you consider doing a eating Banquet frozen dinners for a week? That chicken strips dinner with the brownie & corn (or fries) is my childhood!!! Lol*
Hi pbg
Hello!
You should try some of the Trader Joe's frozen meals. Specifically the curry options, they are game changers imo as far as frozen meals go. Love the content!
This halloween has gotta be gud cuz peebs just dropped this \(≧▽≦)/
Biggest surprise for me from this video was at least 10 minutes of it being him choking down cooked apples.
First? In never this early!
Heck yeah fellow Cowboy Kent enjoyer. Always like these videos and great editing as always
Sooo basically my college years in a video 😂
I agree with you, spoons are superior in a lot of scenarios. There's some food that you gotta have a fork for to stab onto, but spoons are good for like mashed potatoes, rice, etc.
And Kent Rollins is awesome, he's got such good recipes!
Hey don’t let all those mean comments get to ur head. You’re doing great Peebs!
