I like it when you guys develop independent designs and test them like this. It’s very demanding on your creativity and science, but the format needs a slight change to give it way more energy.. NO ROUNDS and NO TURNS, just continuous evolution on each team until the time is over. Then who ever met the challenge best wins. In this challenge, you might make three identical launching platforms so you don’t run into each other, like the build garages.
I would say they should have turns but there needs to be build-part limits, ie you get 6 large wings total, 10 small wings total and can use no more than 70 blocks and a single controller. Then let them have 2 launches but allow for a +/-3° change on the controller between launches. If you limit parts, it drives ingenuity. In the case of these gliders, allowing for small non-part changes between evolutions removes the "Whelp, i wasted a whole turn because I jumped up my angle 3° too much..." and would allow more focus on total mass, CoM shifting, and wing loading.
I agree with @randOmmm, the video seemed like it was just making random small adjustments and hoping they worked out better. A format where you spend 3+ rounds just trying to dial in angles made it feel more random than skill based.
I was literally experimenting with this for an hour or two and I could not make a design better than my first design that was 4 blocks long. I tried different weight material’s different wing spans different center of lift and center of mass. I even tried to get a sensor system to pitch up when the glider came near the ground. No matter what it couldn’t beat that dinky little plane. The design if curious: The body was two wood blocks and a controller. The end wood block had one small wing for a stabilizer and 2 small wings (one on each side) on bearings for elevators. The main wings were 4 small wings (two on each side) one block from the front of the controller. The elevators where pitched up 2 degrees.
I wouldn't even be able to make a simple house in this game. Meanwhile kAN and crew makes this kind of stuff. It always blows my mind seeing their creations.
Because the airfoils in SM only generate lift without introducing drag (unlike Trailermakers), you just have to build symetric and slap as much wings on it as you like.
You could make a MM challenge with 00fants Godzilla mod. Lure the creation eating Godzilla with your creation towards an opponents HQ and away from your own. Whose HQ stands last is the winner.
Kan a new rule for the evolve challenges. You can choose to edit your vehicles logic, electronics, motors but no deleting or adding and after your first attempt but the second one doesn't count its more of a test flight
you could try the same thing but the lauch will just be a vertical gravity fall. and the plane will have to right itself to get into a flight (maybe adds room for timer blocks to adjust pitch and stuff)
After your 1st generation you should have set a timer at like 4 seconds to change the angle then another time to reset the angle back to zero then maybe like a logic so after the final timer it would reset to the first and restart the cycle
Need to put a rail on both sides with a marker block every 5 or so blocks. That was you can look across and accurately place the distance marker. I saw a few times where you would mark behind the plane and then the marker off to the side would be 1-2 blocks forward or backwards.
Yay!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so into this . The first time i saw any of kan, scrapman, ormoonbo was the original evolution glidder episode. I loved it so much i've tried to watch everyones episodes.
i bet 2 degree wouldve worked good on that tail edit: i made this assumption after watching the 5 degree flight and i have officially scared myself with guessing numbers
I wonder how varying weight on a piston to cause swoops on a controller would do? Or I guess just having the bearings for the wing angles would probably be easier on a loop or nose tip sensor I know that defeats the point just curious lol
do a evolution but the twist is use a spinning wheel to choose the part u can use (example: u spin a wheel and land only 2 wing pieces) every evolution=another new part
Hello kan Love your and the rest of the group, videos. Have fun and keep sharing your work. Heads up, in steam, be careful of scams. I just lost my account due to my dumb actions but you and the gang, stay safe out there mate.
It would be cool if you guys did a real evolution were each generation every design except the best one is eliminated and then everyone copies the winning design to try and improve it This is how evolution works in real life where the best creature survives to create new variations and the worst ones go extinct
Quick hack for if you are gonna do an egg drop grab a piece of construction paper use another piece to act as a brace and it’s done I got a 100 for that experiment and it stunned my teacher
What mod is this? I am currently using the Fant mod for wings and i wonder if that is any better or worse, if it is better than the Fant mod then may i have the name of the mod?
"Evolve it to be better"... ominous foreshadowing.
Your ominous foreshadowing
So happy to see the evolution series coming back

That's called a build battle

Love to see the evolution is back
I wouldn't even be able to make a simple house in this game. Meanwhile kAN and crew makes this kind of stuff. It always blows my mind seeing their creations.
YES! I missed this series so much
Love your video, watched you for quite a while now and I am happy to see a new scrap mechanic video! 🎉
Super thanks is the weirdest/coolest feature that I have heard no one talk about
Wow 10 bucks nice of you😊😊🎉🎉😊😊
See I expected a sensor to adjust the wing angle depending on distance from the ground
Or add a timer and sensor to make changes x seconds after launching.
Might've been too complicated for their time constraints on the initial build. I wonder if Kan, off camera, will continue to evolve his plane.
@@weylinwest9505 I hope so it's a cool plane

More Scrap Mechanic! Thank you Kan!
Yay scrap mechanic is back!!! Missed multiplayer mondays!

MMM is back, YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!
watched this on SM's channel earlier, just wanted to see the cheese from your perspective :D
I wonder how these folks would handle the old high school egg drop. design a parachute to slow a set dead weight. Judged by hang time.
I love that he used Scrapman’s as the level 1 in his thumbnail, amazing shade.

I would love to see a V2 of this but with the platgorm twice as high
Now take the glider design up a notch with a passenger glider.... higher and heavier

Scrap man winning was like an adult crumpling a paper ball and throwing it further than a five-year-old's plane
Yay!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so into this . The first time i saw any of kan, scrapman, ormoonbo was the original evolution glidder episode. I loved it so much i've tried to watch everyones episodes.
I’d like to see more plane scrap mechanic videos in the future please
Idea for evolution. Every round has a random amount of time for improvement
ScrapMan, why U don't play with KAN, Dapper and Kosmo in ZeepKist?
Your tracks were on another level
Finally every week we all stray farther away from the holiness of scramechanic
i bet 2 degree wouldve worked good on that tail
edit: i made this assumption after watching the 5 degree flight and i have officially scared myself with guessing numbers
Try to do a helicopter challenge with them
I literally just watched the trailmakers version!
I wonder how varying weight on a piston to cause swoops on a controller would do? Or I guess just having the bearings for the wing angles would probably be easier on a loop or nose tip sensor I know that defeats the point just curious lol

I miss the evolution series, this was great!
I'm glad we can all agree now that concrete is a bad airplane material.
This is by far my favorite kind of video on your channel
Should have been able to adjust angles in between each launch.
But then it’s not really same design. Maybe instead they could have just done one launch per generation and had twice as many generations.
@@Omlet221 100% agree with this notion!
Hello kan

I hope Hyde plays scrap mechanic with you soon
Totally "not" feeling crappy so decided to binge a series and now I wanna pick Besiege back up
It would be cool if you guys did a real evolution were each generation every design except the best one is eliminated and then everyone copies the winning design to try and improve it

I think that's how they did some evolution stuff some time ago. They have done a lot in Trailmakers.
Evolution is not a game of winners, it is a game of not being a loser.
Only the worse one should be knockout out.
As soon as he said he only put it to 1 degrees I knew he was toast
Kinda wish we got to see moonbo alter his by 1 degree and see if that also caused it to win
it makes me very happy that moonbo got 5 of the top 6 official scores but still got third if we count unofficial scores
I'm surprised none of you added a modded seat
I was 100% thinking you'd dial it in at 2-3 degrees, and then you picked 1 and I was sure that wasn't enough
Great video!
I enjoy these videos!
I would love to see you guys play a survival game with this mod that centres around planes etc. :D
I kinda want to see what 3degrees would have done
KAN on your fourth attempt I was yelling at my screen for you to make it 2 degrees and it turns out it would of been the winning angle
anyone else notice the time lapse song was the kallmekris intro
Nice video but the title sounds like a description for a mobile game
you guys should evolve cardboared battlebots with more blocks/ spud guns
Scrapman without the helmet makes me uncomfortable for some odd reason
I pulled out my weight scale and concrete is 5 times heaver than wood. sooo makes sense
I really wanna see then do this idea with walkers now
Love dis ,.
Quick hack for if you are gonna do an egg drop grab a piece of construction paper use another piece to act as a brace and it’s done I got a 100 for that experiment and it stunned my teacher
Kan idea for zeebist. Could you built Steel vengeance from Cedar Point?
next time you can make the starting point highter. ;)
is nice
Evolving bulldozers
Was anyone else hoping for something else when they read it was an evolve video
kANcrete is a big problem when it comes to building paper planes
How are you guys only changing the angle by 1 degree at a time? Is it a mod?
your plane reminds me of a Ki-43 ww2 airplane
Ye
Should have used a sensor to make the tail move when got close the ground
I really wish the platform was 20 blocks higher
I saw him going from 0 to 5° and i thought he needed 2 he goes from 5 to 1 i still thinking he need 2 and then he sees he needs 2 :)
Ground Sensor
is this a mod that allows the wings? i havn't played scrap mechanic for a long time
its a mod
helo
“Land food”

Try this but every round you add a block of concrete

Whats the music you use?

I believe it is the wings mod on the workshop
@@keeganmccray5856 thanks!
Going from 5 degrees straight to 1 degree seemed like a bad decision. It was always going to be 2 degrees.
