I'd love to see more of these! Just got a Subharmonicon and this was really helpful! Another thing I like doing for hats is instead of aiming for pure noise I fm oscillator 1 with 2 (with a dummy cable in 2 so they don't modulate each other) and with some tweaking I can get some interesting, more metallic sounding hats with a bit of tonal content. It sounds perfectly offbeat and quirky but also works really well, especially with super low decay. Love experimenting on the Subharmonicon!
Thanks! Yeah I was thinking of putting something like that together, I guess it would be pretty easy, I just need to load the sounds into a sampler. I actually made a full track with just the Subharmonicon, including all the drums last week, but it's for a client and I wouldn't want to release it before her podcast comes out.
Hehe thanks! It also sounds great as a traditional mono synth with a midi controller plugged into it. I’m thinking I might demo that next. I used it for some leads on a track a while back and was pretty amazed
@@Sound_ology Agreed. The SubH and the DFAM truly hold their ranks even as mere analog mono synths. In the very last piece I recorded, I even used my DFAM as ... the lead synth ! ( ruclips.net/video/Ps0f0XquV08/видео.html ) It was fun to view it from another perspective.
Thanks for the video man! I've managed to get some nice sounding bleeps out of my Subharmonicon, but hadn't tried drums yet. Very helpful and inspiring! I'll try some of those tips tonight!
The cross feedback between VOCs 1 & 2 is a great idea ! I will have to try it. I own both a SubHarmonicon and a DFAM, and these two pieces of gear simply fascinate me ! But then, a central question remains ... what with 859 ?!
@@Sound_ology ohh hi, thanks for replying. I mean a synth bass line to tight with a kick like techno music. it has totally 6 OSC so will quite reward with that and polyrhythm melodies :)
This just saved my SH from being sold. Thank you.
Great vid man. It’s such a versatile little guy and in my opinion is the best value Moog eurorack. 🙊

such a refreshing and inspiring change from all of the "ambient" demos and soundscapes. I think you just sold me one!

Can i tune subharmonicon to a minor scale?
A-mazing.
Goat
wow. this's more than I expected! can Subharmonicon have a tight bass for electronic music like Mother 32?
CHRIS YUO do you mean bass drum or bass synth? I guess either way my answer is yes haha but I would do it differently for each

@@chrisyuo6474 Oh definitely! The envelopes are super snappy and it sounds awesome. You can turn down the oscillators to clean them up too.
