VSV Prasad, Managing Director, Swarna Group said, 'there is so much shortage of employees in Karnataka that getting an employee worker, either skilled or unskilled, is becoming so difficult for us because they don't want to work. They are getting all the amenities and all the support from the government. So under these circumstances, keeping such restrictions will only ultimately end in stopping all infrastructure projects and the industries also will be closed if such compulsions are imposed on the infrastructure and industries. So my view will be that our government should give preference to groups C and D Kannadigas. But, if we don't get, then what is the alternative you have to suggest? So, we are forced to migrate the labour from other states because of the non-availability of skilled and unskilled labor. So at this point, the government should understand and take decisions accordingly so that we are striving for the growth of infrastructure and industries in Karnataka. So this should be kept in the mind of the government while making such decisions.'

I’m from Karnataka.
Most of youth are busy in non productive stuff. Going behind girls, involved in political campaigns, caste fights.. in their early age. Even i feel sad when i vist offices and don’t find any Kannada people. Even rich kannadigas don’t have courage to start business they go for 15k per month jobs.

The shortage is due to freebie schemes of Congress. Kannadigas don't need to work because they get 'atkegi' (10kg) rice and 2000rs free travel on buses etc. Therefore companies are forced hire outsiders.

I can see this kind of issue cropping up in many states. It may be time to introduce internal visa process where each state can mandate visa for employment. Based on the demand for skill, and availability of skills for the kind of task, the state government can issue a visa / work permit. In reality poor states have no issues, there will be ouward migration and their social expense burden reduces. It is the developed states that would find a problem. What gives away he siuation is often migrants bring a disturbing culture, become conspicuous for some public behaviour, and do not make any effort to learn the local language. If they learn to become inconspicuous, there may be no problem.
Its really absurd decision to promote locals. Instead they should focus on skilling their people then these kinds of reservation have no room there. well done Pappu you show your colour too fast. earlier people discriminate on basis of religion and caste and now language as well.

Govt of any states can't compel any foreign based companies to appoint only local people. Only In unskilled sectors and few semi skilled sectors local people are working in all states. All IT companies or factories have only skilled management personnels the owner being foreigners or tatas Or birlas Or ambanis. So the reservation should be limited to only govt owned companies.
This reservation should be imposed. All companies will shift their offices from Karnataka. Then govt will realise the loss of revenue caused. Then they will roll the red carpet and beg companies to come back. If the companies could find capable and relevant workforce in Karnataka itself then why would they even hire no kannadigas? Also Bangalore landlords can shut shop as rentals will plummet. If govt has the guts then let them impose it and see what happens.

मुस्लिम, मारवाड़ी, सिंधी, गुजराती, बिहारी, यूपी, एमपी के लोग यहां आ रहे हैं लेकिन वे मराठी नहीं बोलते
