I really appreciate this video, especially after getting a glance of Balboa Park in your prior San Diego vlog. The Spanish-influenced architecture was amazing, so much detail. The Friendship Garden is stunning and looks like something out of a fairy tale. The NAT was also really interesting. Jack was on a roll, dropping some very clever comedy lines throughout that part as well. Excellent video!
Let's not compliment Jack's comedy cleverness too much. It will further inflate his ego. LOL. This was a wonderful park with beautiful architecture and gardens. And cool museums. We wish we didn't live on the opposite side of the country so we could see it - and San Diego in general - more often.

Yeah, Jack was there filming for hours and still didn’t make it to everything. There are several museums and gardens he never even saw because there was so much to walk around and see. The intricate detail on the buildings is incredible. It kind of reminds me of Coronado Springs at Disney World probably because of its Spanish architecture but it's way more detailed. We loved San Diego but spent minimal time there while in California years ago. I didn't realize they had so many museums but once again the details on the buildings is everything. The admission price seems reasonable. Beautiful exhibits. The living museum lizards were cool. How ironic they killed all of the grizzly bears and then put it on their state flag. Great video.
We had such a good time exploring Balboa Park. There is so much to see and experience there! The detailed carvings on the buildings are amazing. Pictures and video don't even do it justice. You really could spend an entire vacation here exploring the whole park. We have been a couple of times and still have so much more to see. Jack was afraid for a bit that nothing was going. tobe open after the first two he tried were closed. But thankfully about half the museums were open so he got to pick from among those. We have never been to Balboa Park and it looks like there is so much to do there. The free concerts and San Diego weather sounds like the perfect hangout. Love all the museums and seeing that lizard shed it's skin had to be interesting.

LOL. We will provide the park with that feedback. I am sure they will open the botanical gardens right quick to get you to come for a visit. Jack didn't care much about the botanical garden (although I am sure we would both think it was nice if we saw it). But the building it is housed in is a very unique one that is one of the largest lath structures in the world (we did have to look up what that meant) and is one of the most photgraphed buildings in San Diego. So he was curious to see the building up close more so than the garden (which again, I am sure is quite nice for people into gardens). He was at least able to see it from 100 feet away behind a construction fence. So, that is something.
If we were alive in the time of dinosaurs, I feel like "No climbing on the Ankylosaurus" would have been a pretty commonly followed rule. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment!
It is a beautiful park. Glad you clarified that it was named after the Balboa explorer. Our minds went streight to Rocky. 20 museums- amazing. The architecture is stunning. It reminds us of the park in St. Louis, not in stucture of buildings, but because it has a zoo, ampitheater, museums and was the location of a world fair so lots of interesting architectural buildings to house some of the museums. That's too bad that you missed the botanical gardens. But I imagine that is as pretty as the gardens with the cherry blossoms.
LOL. A park named after Rocky Balboa would probably be very different. Jack did hate missing the botanical gardens (and the historic hundred year old open air building it is housed in). But there is really too much to see in one day. He was there most of the day while I was in my conference and there is plenty of stuff not pictured in the video because it is too much to see it all in one day. The house of hospitality restaurant looked cool! The gardens looked beautiful! Can’t wait to see the flowers start to bloom here!!! It is a beautiful park. Glad you clarified that it was named after the Balboa explorer. Our minds went streight to Rocky. 20 museums- amazing. The architecture is stunning. It reminds us of the park in St. Louis, not in stucture of buildings, but because it has a zoo, ampitheater, museums and was the location of a world fair so lots of interesting architectural buildings to house some of the museums. That's too bad that you missed the botanical gardens. But I imagine that is as pretty as the gardens with the cherry blossoms.
LOL. A park named after Rocky Balboa would probably be very different. Jack did hate missing the botanical gardens (and the historic hundred year old open air building it is housed in). But there is really too much to see in one day. He was there most of the day while I was in my conference and there is plenty of stuff not pictured in the video because it is too much to see it all in one day. The house of hospitality restaurant looked cool! The gardens looked beautiful! Can’t wait to see the flowers start to bloom here!!! Not sure why the ants marching fascinate and we always stay at those exhibits forever haha!!! Oh cool you got to see the lizard shedding it’s skin! Def worth the stop! Have heard of Balboa Park didn’t realize there were so many different things to do there (even if some of them were closed). 24 months??? That is a major redo. That bat 🦇 documentary sounded pretty interesting 😂

I didn't know that is why the expo was there. I am familiar with it and have been there. But didn't know its history.
Balboa Park does have a really cool history. And we still left some details out for time's sake. But it is a very cool place. It is pretty amazing to visit those 100 year old buildings and see the beautiful gardens. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment!
