- So last year I started animating another Vargskeletoon; joel does a big jump.
Thanks to Animate CC having a monumental crash when saving, not only did I lose ALL animation progress ( 100+ hours! ) I lost all backups AND Animate cc itself.
I even lost the animatic. Whoopsie!
However I was recently able to recover an old version of the animatic, so instead of having it waste away I thought I'd upload it here.
I may attempt animating it again later on, but for right now my motivation is non-existent.

We're in 2020 and Animate CC(flash) is still a threat to us animators' personal projects and work-related deadlines. The software is corrupted in its core since it was created.
I can't wait to purchase ToonBoom Harmony.
BTW you did a great job, as always
OneyNG has talked quite a lot about how frustrating ToonBoom's workflow and usability is. You do you, but you may be better off using Blender.

This is why backups, and backups of those backups (preferably off-site or not on the same machine) is so important. Redundancy is your friend.

Dude. That absolutely sucks that you lost all of that progress and work. I’m so sorry that happened to you. I hope you’ll find your motivation soon. I know a similar feeling of loss, losing dozens of hours of progress on a game from my console due to a blackout corrupting some data. It’s not on the same scale as your loss but I can at least empathize with it.

I love all the callbacks- the BTTF theme that Joel always plays when he has technical problems, Vinny and Meat, Limes, the DOOM (?) outpost on Mars, JermaJup, and of course, Todd.
when a professional program you use for your job up and crashes so hard it uninstalls itself, maybe thats a sign you should switch to something else

This is incredible, even as an animatic you can just feel the raw energy and you could pretty much invision it as a finished product. Really sad to hear that the many, MANY hours of hard work you had was just wiped though, it always sucks when that happens and can really demotivate a person to continue a project.

Thankfully, you were at least a bit better than me about back-ups, so at least we get the animatic. On that note, great work. Even as just a simple animatic, it's bursting with expression.
At first I was confused about what was up with the big checkerboard out in space. Then Todd came out of it and I realized that it was a CHESS board and all was clear to me

I’m really sorry to hear that Zeurel! Your animations are incredible and even this backup file was monumentally entertaining.
I don’t know much about animation and have only ever worked with Paint Tool SAI and GIMP, but I know how disheartening it can be to lose progress from crashes. Keep pushing on; your talent is worth much more than what technology tries to limit it to!
Gosh, imagine having a crash so bad it ruins the backups you have MegaCloud and on an external drive hidden in your dresser. Thanks Animate CC.

It sucks to lose so much progress on something that you've worked so hard on only to end up starting over because one thing has decided to trash it all in some way.
I had gone through something similar to this event recently, except it happened to my MacBook, where it did a full reset due to the startup disk screwing up or getting corrupted (which I still blame myself on how it happened). Worst part about it: I didn't back up everything that was from this year, including all of my artwork that I've either finished or was still working on, when I had to restore everything to my MacBook.
Either way, even after what happened to this animation project, I'm still excited to see your next animations coming up in the future! I wish you the best of luck, my dude!
