Cambodia’s Hun Sen, one of the world’s longest-serving leaders, is heading for another unanimous victory with an expected electoral landslide on July 23, 2023, after he banned the opposition and dismantled much of the free media. As a former Khmer Rouge commander who switched sides towards the end of the brutal regime, leading the country since 1985, Hun Sen and his Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) will be running virtually unopposed as the opposition Candlelight Party was banned from taking part, on a technicality, in May.

@@kaingchhaylong2762Cambodia's Kings have always been a political puppet for the the colonizer, long even before the day Cambodia established itself as a nation - in the 1950s.
I mean, the king held no power during the French occupation - his policies and actions were according to the France's order..
Before that, for almost half a millennia, Cambodia's Kings must be approved by the Siamese (Thai) king first, then and only then, The coronation ceremonies will be held in Bangkok, outside Thailand's grand palace. Siamese (Thai) Kings held the ability to gave/took the ruling power to/out-of the Cambodia's King.
So, for too many generations, The Cambodian monarchy had little to no experience in politics and diplomacy. Not because his poly of no-interfering like you understand.
So don’t expect the Cambodia monarch to do anything worth the international news agency to report.
