      And where germans say bullshit about Gdańsk Olsztyn and Wroclaw. Especially Wroclaw calling it german and offending 3 other nations that ruled Silesia and took part in creating beautiful Silesia - poland Austria and Czech Republic

    2:38 Fun fact: one of these "romantic" padlocks on the left says "Tede+Peja". Those are not the names of Polish boy and girl who are deeply in love, but two Polish rappers that had a beef a couple years ago xD

    Seems like such a relaxed and chilled out place.

    Krakow was not damaged in WWII as much as Warsaw [which I believe literally disappeared from the landscape after Warsaw uprising]. I am a biologist and I've studied regional DNA in the Krakow region because it is significant to several hypotheses developed on migration of peoples. The city is pleasant and very safe, but nowhere in Poland is it really dangerous.

    I've got good friends that are Polish who live here in the UK, but I know little about their country apart from some bits about the history of their struggle against the old Soviet Union and their bravery in the Battle of Britain in World War 2. So I'm really looking forward to your Polish vlogs. This one is fantastic - the music suits the chilled mood and the clip of Stacey's fingers running along the wall summed up the feeling of laid back chilling out - you are so good at capturing mood with little details like this!

    • @DanegerAndStacey
      @DanegerAndStacey  6 лет назад +1

      Definitely a lot of interesting and crazy history here - little did we know it would also be incredibly cool, young and interesting in other ways. So far it definitely has a lot going for it! Glad we captured the vibe. The next one is trickier, we just filmed it yesterday, more touristy spots... which we struggle with a little haha

    • @Husarz68
      @Husarz68 6 лет назад +2

      So you should definitely visit Poland :) I live in Cracow, and this is old capital of Poland and very important place for polish culture so I recomend this city to start. Poland is propably safest country in europe, we have low prices and crazy history. Maybe it do not take your breath away like exotic countries, but I'm sure that you will have good time :)

    • @RexWaldron
      @RexWaldron 6 лет назад

      Thanks Husarz68! It looks very appealing and as you say has a great reputation for safety. To be honest, more popular destinations lose their appeal by the minute for me :) so Poland looks a very good bet!

    • @DanegerAndStacey
      @DanegerAndStacey  6 лет назад +1

      +Rex Waldron We agree with you there. We love a lot of the big cities but they lose their appeal very quickly (and your wallet loses all it's cash as well). So much more to be seen and explored - we're really loving it more as we start to hear further away from the 'normal spots' people frequent.

      Thirstytraveler41 Sweet pierogi have always been very popular in Poland! Especially in the summer, when we eat it stuffed with strawberries, cherries and blueberries & poured with sweet cream. Yummy! ☺

      Another sweet variation of Pierogi without fruit is with quark cheese (similar to cottage cheese), which is mixed with sugar, cinnamon and sometimes honey. This has always been my favourite flavour! It sounds strange because it's cheese, but think of it like cream cheese frosting; strange at first but it works brilliantly!

    We totally understand where you are coming from regarding Krakow and Poland. We came to Krakow for 1 week and have ended up staying almost 3 months now during the coronavirus lockdown. The city is coming back to life now after being dormant for so long and we still do not want to leave. Looks like we may stay the entire summer. Krakow has so much going for it. The perfect place to be stranded! :)

    go East guys :) everybody visits Warsaw, Gdansk, Krakow, some go West to see Wroclaw or Poznan or Torun. I encourage you to go East, visit Lublin, then small town of Kazimierz, then Zamosc. in Lublin there's something really unique to see, a Gothic Roman Chapel painted with Othodox style frescos, amazing combination you won't see anywhere else in the world. Lublin Castle- Holy Trinity Chapel.

    There is a really cool, secret/hidden bar in the Krakow's Jewish Quarters. They make really good cocktails there. The place is located inside Pool Hall called Billiard Club PIK, when you walk upstairs you then have to go through a bathroom that has an 'Out of Order' Sign which then leads you into a glass door that opens up to the bar.

    I am glad to see that you like Krakow. I have not seen my home country and Krakow for 6 years now, so your awesome videos simply brought memories, tears, joy... While you are still in Krakow area, and if you have not already you should definitely check out Fabryka Schindlera (Oscar Schindler Enamel Factory), Wieliczka Salt Mine, but there is so much more to see and experience. for great polish authentic food, try "Bar Mleczny" these are cheap "old style" restaurants with polish authentic food. Polish traditional pierogi are "ruskie pierogi". Have Fun!

    Ahhh nice! Leaving the best for last! Those dumplings looked fabulous! I don’t know that I would go for the sweet one but the savory I would overdose on! Hahahaaa! Once again, some really beautiful and interesting architecture! 🤩

    • @DanegerAndStacey
      @DanegerAndStacey  6 лет назад

      It's really crazy how filling they were - we were STUFFED by the time our normal dinner time came around. They're heartier than any dumpling weve ever had in Asia thats for sure.

    • @Dream331
      @Dream331 6 лет назад +1

      Daneger and Stacey uh oh! Does that mean I need to go to Krakow now to try these dumplings? Hahahaaa I go crazy for dumplings! 😃 I remember you guys in Manila. I don’t think you tried the dumplings in the Chinatown area? Those are pretty incredible but probably not as thick like you mentioned these are in Krakow.

    U Vincent is good but also try przystanek pierogarnia on Bonerowska, the shop is the size of a cupboard and you have to take away but all the locals go there and they're epic. Also if you get the tram to Nowa Huta ( you must do this) to see the neighborhood Stalin built check out Bar Mleczny Szkolny to see how people dined before mass tourism, it's something you will never forget.

    • @DanegerAndStacey

    Guys, thanks! I feel you give some justice to the polish cuisine in a way. It may be "heavy" but it certainly is tasty.
    I have been to New Zealand for a month, and I absolutely loved it, but not for the local food though.
    The people and the scenery made me want to stay there for good, even though my visa was up.

    • @DanegerAndStacey
      @DanegerAndStacey  6 лет назад

      NZ doesn't really have 'local food' sadly, but in general the restaurants are top quality but you pay for it. Beautiful place though huuh?!

    If you're still in Cracow, make sure to go to "Dolnych Młynów". It's a nice chilly place with a lot of restaurants/cafe's etc... It's also a "party" place at nights. Something worth seeing would be "błonia".
