- 5 spooky weapons you NEED to try in Terraria! Terraria 1.4.4 comes with quite the collection of Halloween and horror themed weapons throughout the game. This ranges from all kinds of weapons, like swords, guns, whips and more! Today, I take a look at 5 spooky themed weapons that have quite interesting functionality and are absolutely work trying out. This includes the Stake Launcher, Dark Harvest, Jack o Lantern Launcher, Bloody Machete and the Toxic Flask. Why not give them a try!

I wish there were more enemies that the stake gun had a damage increase against. The ability just feels to niche to be good.
By the time you get it, you’re probably one or two shotting vampires anyways, so the bonus isn’t really that noticeable unless you get swarmed by a hundred vampires or something
To be fair, the stakes killing vampires is more of a reference than an actual useful function of this weapon.
@@PGO-rw8jo to be fair, its just a little addition. Little things like that cant hurt. Maybe they should do that to werewolves with the silver bulletz

It's more of an easter egg than an actual feature
Also fun fact they can trigger anti cheat in multi-player sometimes

I recently acquired the Bloody Machete in my first ever Master mode world I made two days ago, and I gotta say it’s super useful. I had no idea it was so rare though!
I've never beaten master but I am doing master mode summoner in don't dig up and I got it

I hope next year you'll get to talk about the Psycho Knife. It looks VERY interesting.
In my experience, the Psycho Knife is actually kind of useless. It is easily out shadowed by the Terra Blade, dealing less DPS, even at close range. It also has very short range, and it is obtainable at the same time as the Terra Blade. It might be cool, but they need to make it just deal WAYYY more dps, just because the tradeoff of range just isn't worth it, nor does it do any additional damage than the Terra Blade. It needs to be buffed too at least be viable.

@@AdventofMechanus I guess so, but Terraria isn't optimized for pvp very well, at least it may happen in the crossplay update.
@@smallxplosion9546 while the psycho knife is not the best weapon using enough movement accessories and basic melee armour dramatically increase its damage when in stealth mode also stealth mode also buffs all weapon damage including sentries and summons so with enough effort you can produce a lot of DPS without actually attacking with it and again things like shield of cthulhu and a full doge chance build can really make work of certain bosses
As someone who almost exclusively plays summoner, the Dark Harvest is an amazing weapon to have, especially with the right setup.
And what setup would that be?

Something that makes the flask really op is the spectre amour set, with the hat that damages enemies not heals you, because it’s constantly hitting it makes the armor broken for that strange in the game
Dark Harvest is also the only whip which closely resembles the Japanese Kusarigama
Morningstar is the western variant
Morningstar is also reference to another game/anime but I forgot the names
@@gunstru i think its castlevania because there are whips in that game. also morningstar is a reference to lucifer morningstar who is satan.
Dark Harvest is also a great stand name and since the summoner class is like a stand (Stardust armour) i think it's cool.
The dark harvest was already kind of nutty prior to 1.4.4. I'd argue it's actually less powerful than it was before the labor of love update because of the general nerfs to whips overall.
Sock you should do class build reviews for terraria so newer players know what's good

Regarding the Toxic Flask, that's not *just* its sound effect. Since you're fighting the Old One's Army, you're hearing both the sound of glass breaking (its actual sound effect) and the most common sound effect that plays when an OOA enemy takes damage

I just LOVE weapons with unique ammo. Re-Logic HAS to introduce more of them in Terraria 2!
One of these days I want to do a challenge run where I only use weapons with unique ammo.
@@danielleanderson6371 would you count dart guns/blowguns or no since there's a few?
@@dragoncat9153 I would count those on the basis that they use a different ammo type from the primary intended weapons to use with the shroomite helmet. I would also include things like flamethrowers and star cannons, which have upgraded versions using the same ammo.

The Dark Harvest is a MUST for summoner playthroughs, its buff is just insane. Combine that with the Morning Star and you can shred anything before the Kaleidoscope.
The bloody machete was very good when fighting the eye of cathulu in master mode.

I remember getting the bloody machete years back when I first played terraria, It was the strongest weapon I could ever get. Looking back, damn I didnt know how to play the game
i didn't knew the bloody machete was so rare, i got it after going back to terraria at the very end of the halloween event.
I got that AND the bladed glove.
yeah, i got the bladed glove and the slime staff from the first ~250 enemies i killed ever in terraria
i originally had no idea they were so rare, but it makes sense because those two carried me hard through early-game

I dropped 2 bloody machete recently I'm quite shocked it's that rare.
From you posting this your late for Halloween but this is still a video from you so it will be good even if its late *also this could have been recorded on the 31st but it May have been delayed or editing was hard ty for the video tho*
BRUH, anything can easily take down golem.
Also if you have credit card equipped, ammo for jack o lantern launcher is around 8 copper coins each.

On my new 1.4.4 world, the literal first slime i killed dropped a machete.
That bloody thing carried me until i got a starfury.
A video idea you could make is talking about the weapons that trade places in the "dont dig up" seed. The bubble gun and the water sceptor trade places, making the bubble gun come from dungeon gold chests and the water sceptor from duke fishron. Usually they are buffed and nerfed to make them less broken or useless when you obtain them. A few more examples are: wand of sparkling/magic dagger, snowball cannon/ice bow and unholy trident/fireblossom. I'm sure theres more I just cant think of them off the top of my head. The snowball cannon coming from ice mimics in hard mode shoots significantly faster. The bubble gun has way less damage since you get it so early. These are just to name a few changes. A video would be nice to show this underrated feature of that seed that allows some underused weapons to shine. (Maybe fishron's water sceptor would be kinda nuts)
i got my bloody machety pre hardmode on day two of my world without knowing it was rare. so glad i didnt trash it.

How about trying a butcher's chainsaw? This weapon handles crowds well and is useful in a pumpkin/frost moon.
In my opinion the nail gun if VERY good if you don't wanna grind for other late handmade weapons

I'm sorry, but the bloody machete kind of blows. Boomerangs in general aren't that strong, and the bloody machete is the only boomerang in the entire game with gravity for some reason.
I really hate to farm some events like pumpkin moon, solar eclipse, frost moon.

The bloody machete isn't a problem, I got it 2 times without even farming for it

I got the machete and the claws a few days back... In my ranger playthrough. Guess I'll just gift them to my melee character. I'm not too strict on how I play, but RNG sure loves to screw with the player.

The Bubble Gun can absolutely melt larger enemies if you play within it's range. Maybe you could make a video on it. When Duke Fishron was the endgame in 1.2, my sisters would just hold down the attack button basically shotgunning the mourning woods and pumpkings instantly melting them and getting the hearts before we could die
now you can get the bubble gun pre-hardmode(which i did)

3:02 Few days ago, I was just farming for Truffle Worm in the Underground Mushroom biome, and I just killed 2 enemies randomly, and they dropped 2 Bloody Machetes in a row. (So I think that 1/2000 drop rate is not actually true.)
XD That must be a 1 in 4000000 chance. Unnecessary Luck I guess.
Yeah, that might be it.
But when I farmed for e. g. Rod of Discord, (and that has ,,just” 1/500 drop rate) that did not came after like 1000-1500 Chaos Elementals. And only the near 2000. dropped it.

@@mightnare3237 Yeah, I think of that every time if I’m doing something in Terraria, that depends on drop rates or luck. But this is Terraria, so I do it until it I recieve what I want. That is that random factor that makes me love terraria with it’s many other things.
@@zsopro5510 I know what you mean, but when you farm for a specific weapon you very often get another, equally good, one. See, not every weapon you find is better than your previous one. Many weapons are just alternatives to others. Like, in (early) pre-hardmode, you can find an enchanted sword. It doesn't carry you to WoF or Skeletron or so, it's just a nice little (rare) alternative to, say, the jungle grass sword, except that you can craft THAT sword 100% percent if you grind a little bit, while the enchanted sword is something you can find randomly so you don't need to craft the one you would normally farm for. I hope I didn't explain it too confusingly.

unpopular opinion but i almost never use any whips past dark harvest just bc i enjoy how it looks more, plus i prefer dark artist armor over stardust and rarely use whips anyway
