Why in the world does it have to be this difficult to replace a headlight?!? Lol. Thanks for the vid!
Thank you kind sir for your excellent cameramanship and very clear instructions!! As a 27 year old female, with next to no mechanical experience, this made my life soooo much easier 😅❤ switched my bulb out in about an hour!
I just followed the instructions on your awesome video and it worked like a charm. You just saved me over 200 bucks thanks man!
So glad to hear that🙂 thank you for the support🙂
Very nice and detailed video, was able to change out lights in about an hour and revisited your video for a few pointers about removing parts. Thank You!
That's awesome..so glad u were able to change it out...thank you so much for the support🙂
Way too much work just to replace a light bulb, but thank you very detailed video!
yea it is a lot of work unfortunately...thank you:)
@@backyardchevy328 I love watching RUclips to figure out how to fix certain things..I'm a female & I was thinking of trying to do this on my mom's car, but idk lol..it might not be that bad once I start esp after watching your video!
@@aliciagriffin2216 the hardest part i think is pulling the bumper cover back up .but if u pull it up from where i show it makes it easier to pull up...it looks intimidating but its not too bad..if u do decide to try i hope it all goes smooth and easy🙂
@@backyardchevy328 yea you are probably right..thx!
Cost me 200.00 to change my bulbs at pep boys!!!
Excellent job keeping camera on the task being done with a throughal explanation of what and why to do each step without (and this is big) and extra rambling and fluid words. One of the best how to videos I've seen. Bravo!!! 👏👏👏👏 Make more, you are good at it! Thank you!!
Thank you🙂
Very helpful and very clear camera work. Good job!
Thank you🙂 much appreciated
One of my headlights goes out every few months. Ive watched this video several times. Thank you for making this.
Glad to be able to help🙂 thank you for the support
what could the cause of this be? i just got my headlight fixed a month ago or so and it just burnt out again. not spending 50 on repairs when i could potentially do it myself. 😕
@@stewardahmir well headlights go out for a few reasons..if the headlight was touched with bare hands and got a lil oil on the glass...or if the connector is dirty/has a bad connection with bulb..or a bad ground on that side..those can make the life of the bulb shorter than normal
I have watched several of these videos. This is the clearest and most detailed. Thanks for posting.
Thank you🙂
Fantastic how to bro! Appreciate it! Saved me a ton of hassle. Super detailed.
Thank you🙂 so glad to be able to help
This video is probably the best
First time I did this it seemed horrible... Second time it was really not that bad... Still annoying to do but not as bad as I thought.
I wouldn't advise breaking anything on purpose but those long plastic pieces on the assembly in the back by the wheel
Not having those doesn't seem like a big deal and will make it easier to put back on.
It is difficult to get that back in as well as one of the two clips that pushes up.
I broke one the first time I did this and that side is so much easier
Thank you🙂 yea it does get easier the more u do it
Thanks for the video. Big help with my son's car, What seemed difficult, was pretty easy once we got into it.
Thats so awesome! So glad to be able to help🙂
Dam u made that look easy showed more than some of the others I watched so will find out doing it this weekend ty very much
Hopefully everything goes as smoothly for u🙂 good luck👍
Excellent advice, thanks!
Thank you🙂
Great instructions. The only thing I would add is to take a clean cotton cloth and clean the new bulb. Any fingerprints or other contaminants will shorten bulb life because of the high heat a halogen produces.
Thank you🙂 yes, definitely wanna avoid having any oil on the glass portion of it
Thanks for this video
Thanks for this! Very helpful 👍🏼
Thank you🙂
Thanks good job. You made it easy
Thank you🙂
Excellent
excellent video!
Thank you🙂
Thank you so much for this video!
Thank you for supporting me🙂
Is the 10mm socket connected to a drill ?
The amount of work to replace a fcking headlight is ridiculous
Yea it should never require this much work
it's so crazy that this is how to get to a headlight these days haha. i remember undoing the harness from the housing and ta-da! took like 5 mins
Lol, yea unfortunately they didnt consider that when they were designing the vehicle
Truly genius design LOL.
Lol
I'm glad I watched this excellent video. It has reminded me to continue to avoid GM vehicles. There aren't words for how brain dead stupid this "design" is.
Thank you🙂 yea it would of been so much easier to have added some sort of access port
Thank you so much
Glad to be able to help🙂
@@backyardchevy328 their is quite a few clip of the matter but it seems they built them differently ur lifting the bumper off the two clips saved me I was about to break it
Thanks, nice video.
Thank you🙂
My h 7:45 eadlight went out in my 2010 Malibu. In past w other cars I would go up to O'Reilly & a nice gentleman would come * pop it in.
This time w my Malibu, they were said we'd have to take off the whole bumper, no can do. Same at Jiffy Lube...I get it that's a nice gesture it's not a service either offer. Called the Chevy dealership...quote $220!!!! It's still out.
* headlight
I want to change my car lower arm control. Do i have to change the entire front suspension (absorber and mounting, tie rod, etc...) system?
Is there a reason ur changing it? like worn bushings? or bent? how many miles does ur vehicle have?
@@backyardchevy328 it loose and worn bushing and making noise when i decelerate. 140569km
i would definately check ur other components, i got a video on how to check the tie rods, and u can check ur strut. by bouncing the front(if it bounces more than twice u should replace struts) or u can look at strut and see if there is oil leaking from the cylinder, and just visually look at the bushings and or boots on ur drive axle, balljoints, etc. for any tears that will lose all the grease inside that can wear out the components.
My car making duk duk duk sound everytime i slow down or decelerate. Which could be the cause?
When Pressing brake? or even if not pressing brake? if under light braking could be a warped rotor or also if u have rear drum brakes could be just the edge of brake shoe touching causing a noise like that....or if not braking could be a wheel bearing, but those are just guesses...without hearing it and running it under certain situations u cant tell for sure.
What are the name of the tools my headlights just went out n would like to replace them myself
Well youll need a deep socket 10mm socket and ratchet and a 10mm wrench...then i used a set of clip removal tools (which should be linked in description) to remove the clips..and that's it as far as tools
All that to change a bulb. Geeeeez.
Yea unfortunately
2:57 i don’t have the clippers js bolts but tha t bolts are so tiny/destroyed can’t even get it to come out lol
Yea those things are pretty delicate...did u try pliers?
@@backyardchevy328 as we speak I’m sitting on the floor trying to take it off… I did try pliers but it’s bolted on (there was no clippers)
@@LUXS. probably someones replacement for a clip that broke? Or u think its factory?
@@backyardchevy328 defo replaced the clips for bolts. The bolts are completely finished, I tried a 10mm,11mm, 12mm etc nothing works. Ima head over to a mechanic shop and get those screws replaced.
Also great video man!! This was my first every DIY, still haven’t replaced my headlight but once I’m able to remove those bolts I’m fs coming back to this video!!!
Absolutely Ridiculous, compared to the Japanese car brands
Yea definitely unnecessary work
No. Not even pressing the brake. I just let it slow down naturally. My house is very far from town and city so hard for me to have someone to identify for me. Im very noob mekanik 😂
Well first thing i would do is make sure somethings not rubbing like ur tire rubbing on a plastic...if u lightly press the brake does sound stop completely? if it does it could be ur brake rotor warped and brake pads rubbing on it as it grazes brake pad as its free floating...if pressing brake doesnt change noise...then possibly could be a wheel bearing.
It's got a plástic release between the grill AND headlight then take off the nut attached to the Light... this fool took off the whoñe front enf....lmao
This is why I hate Chevy
Yea it does suck to have to do all that work for a light bulb...but i do hope the video helps make it easier.
What a stupid amount of work fpr a headlight on a such a disposable garbage vehicle.
It could have been made much easier if they had put access cutouts
U only need pliers
Lol he doesn't even.shoe u theost hardeat parte which Is putting th bulb on
Lmao
What a crap design, no wonder all those Malibu are going around with a light out lol, actually u can do this without all this riff raff
Wtf chevy lol
The trouble to replace em?
Terrible design
Yes, definitely shouldn't have to do all this for headlight bulbs
Amazing video
Thank you🙂
