Thanks so much for this wonderful talk on behalf of the Northerners and Acholi in particular. WHY ARE THE ACHOLI BEING MARGINALISED TO THIS EXTENT!! IT'S SO SAD!!! But I like the questions raised to the government. WHAT HAVE THEY DONE FOR THE YOUTH IN N. UGANDA? BY ANOTHER, WE WOULD ALSO reformulate it as, DOES NORTHERN UGANDA STILL FORM PART OF UGANDA? Of course, when you look critically, in terms of all the services, amongst them, the investments. Some roads are done because they facilitate some of their interests and not that of the Acholi Community. YET MOST OF THE INVESTTMENTS are being done ELSEWHERE E.G, THOSE INDUSTRIAL PARKS WHICH ARE KNOWN TO CREATE MORE JOBS FOR MANY PEOPLE. (Those motorcycles used as boda bodas are but symbols of poverty even though they distribute would not uplift anyone), yet realistic investments can. Perhaps I'm ignorant about them, but that's what I observed, which is too much. In those countries which are called developed countries every part or region of the country has almost all kinds of factories or industires which are found in one part of the country so that every region manages their own productions and the central government only intervenes when necesary. In our country everything is concentrated in one place, which leaves other parts behind in terms of development. As a result there is increase poverty in other parts, movement of people to the capital to look for jobs, high traffic jam on the streets, increase numbers of street kids, deliquencies, and poor leadership. In the end, the tendency is, the capital city is the country. The rest of the countrysides become places of tourism out of the country as if people who live there are for tourist attractions.
