- Finland has become the 31st member of the Nato security alliance.
The Finnish foreign minister signed the accession document, and handed it to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Finland's accession is a setback for Russia's Vladimir Putin, who repeatedly complained of Nato's expansion before his full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The length of Russia's border with Nato member states has now doubled.

Estonia, Latvia already bordered them since 2004. Norway has (Technically) bordered Russia since 1949. Like most of their excuses, it was abhorrent to begin with.

Yes and no. Our languages are very different, but culturally Finland is a lot more closer to Sweden than Russia. As small nordic countries it is better to work together
