  • A tutorial by Dr Caroline Cobb on the basics of using OCT in Glaucoma.
Dr Caroline Cobb is a Ophthalmology Consultant specialising in Glaucoma.
Retinal nerve fibre layer (RNFL) analysis with OCT is a great tool to help assess a patient who may have glaucoma. Using serial measurements appropriately can help you monitor progression and is a common tool used in glaucoma clinics.

Excellent for lay person. I hope that this explanation is also provided to patients for them to understand what is happening and the rational for interventions. I am sorry to say I have been Diagnosed with NTG and the consultations are like ' conveyor belt' . Even when asked specific questions the response is guarded or ' stable'.
I have 1 question. You state that 2micron p.a is red flag, the literature I have read says 5 micron p.a. This is confusing. Can you elaborate why 2 different criteria.

Thank you for this video. It's very helpful for beginners. However, I noticed that at 3:25 you are able to see the patient's full name & birthdate. For data privacy reasons I think you should take it down?
