" I don't a need a piece of metal to remind me I was once married" the way Anna Wing aka Lou Beale delivered that line beautifully.........meaning that it was her time to go.
Lou was that woman from the war times that became strong forever . Head of the family and respected by all. This is a dying breed
toughest generation
You dont get tought old birds like this anymore
All Grandma's were like that in the 80s.
I didn't realise EastEnders used to be this brooding and realistic instead of all the explosive drama today.
It used to be good, close to real life and captured the grittiness of the 80s/90s Eastend brilliantly. It's total garbage now, with obnoxious one-dimnesional characters, ridiculous storylines and poorly written, cliched scripts.
I was too young to remember this but it is very touching
I know I'm 25 and was born in the late 90's, but I have caught up to the 80's eastenders and can I just say that Lou beale was that woman. She doesn't take no shit from anyone.
I'm 22. Also born in the late '90s. I get what your saying. Lou Beale was the type of war-era woman who knew what's what. These type of women need to come back.
Great TV. Anna Wing, what a wonderful actress.
East Enders is the best tv show ever ❤️❤️⭐️
It is the best ever 😊👋
Too political now. This was proper EastEnders, shame it’s changed.
You don’t get characters like this anymore
Thank goodness, she was a cantankerous old battleaxe
@Rhys Hoffman I liked Lou, she was like Ena Sharples in many ways, misunderstood. Also Lou had a strong feeling that Simon Wicks was not proper family, so she told Pat to put him out of his misery. Lou only gave Wicksy a stone or something when she was dying, and did not invite him to the final family meeting. Pat then told Simon that Brian Wicks was his blood father. Lou knew that Brian was the father, not Kenny or Pete.
I know shame
Can we have like a retro eastenders where all the actors go back in time
She was great
Why did Arthur say “mum” to Lou??
**Sweet home Alabama**
Joey Asjan I suppose it's just Arthur being polite
It's a mark of respect
Mother in law son and a show of respect.
Old fashioned way of referring to your mum in law
😄and I think it's not the case for the next few weeks
