Raised to be seen but not heard, a group of young women in Salem suddenly find their words have an almighty power. As a climate of fear, vendetta and accusation spreads through the community, no one is safe from trial.
Lyndsey Turner (Hamlet) directs this contemporary new staging with a cast including Erin Doherty (The Crown), designed by Tony Award-winner Es Devlin (The Lehman Trilogy). Captured live from the Olivier stage at the National Theatre.

I am astonished and in complete awe, of the acting skills and the imagination within British theater.
I remember dissecting The Crucible in high school. Loved it. Reminded me a tiny bit of Othello where one person's intense jealousy can unravel an entire community.
Bought my tickets yesterday. I can't wait to see this at my local cinema tonight!
Going to see it tomorrow. Seen it twice on stage - Better at Salisbury Rep than The Old Vic, actually, and there was also a film, which was totally forgettable. Of course. I'm expecting to be horrified, thrilled and moved, because it really is one of the few literary/theatrical masterpieces to come out of America.
