Two SD40-2s handily make track speed on the Buffalo Line

Norfolk Southern SD40-2s 3347 and 3374 take a 41-car H53 (Northumberland turn) consist up the Buffalo Line, clocked at a crisp 52.16 mph through Dauphin, PA. It is always nice to see a couple of old EMDs still making their rounds on road traffic, even if only on short-distance runs.

At 5 Row in Spencer NC I watched a newly painted and I assume with a new cab (was once a high hood) GP38-2 lead three (3) high hood SD40”s up the grade pulling about 60 cars. Man what a sound !!
