Wintergatan Ha! Perfect. As I was watching, I thought to myself, “Martin would appreciate this.” And here you are. I’m a longtime very proud supporter and fan of Wintergatan. Cheers!
I can't stress enough how a Rhinoceros 3D would look like with the sections, elevations, axonometric and the grasshopper 3D code would look like. It would simply be a tour the force in architecture and design. This is simply outstanding.
The sheer magnitude and complexity of design, planning, angle calculations, mathematics, construction time, and the emotional investment of blood, sweat, and tears involved are beyond my imagination.
You Sir...have raised the bar very, very high in your quest for perfection. This sculpture represents pure genious level thinking. Don't stop....only you can produce works of art that please everyone on a different level. 👏 BRAVO David!! P.S. Your choice of musical accompaniment is quite fitting indeed....classical.
Waaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!! 100% Awesome! The aesthetic of the sphere is fantastic - and absolute genius to place it near the window and stairs. The lighting is so interesting - like you have stripped away the shell of a planet and we are looking at its inner working...and as you go up the stairs you must get all these interesting new perspectives. The fact that you can spin it as well is just the icing on the cake. Inspiring!
I can't think of a word that describes this , perfection is the best I can do, but it does not do it justice! This is definitely a work of art, engineering masterpiece and something from imagination that has magically found its way into our world! I love it!
Absolutely amazing, to my mind this is art. I don’t think that you could ever have it on public display because someone small minded dip-wad would bend the track. How long did it take to construct? Were you able to pre-construct some components? Fantastic work!
@@rollingballdave do you have a video where you show us your process ? I'm sure a lot of people would love to see a video of how it's built as well and see how everything comes together.
@@rollingballdave your welcome. I have been wanting to try one of these for a while. I was a boilermaker and I was especially good with geometry and I would love to make them myself. But I definitely recognise your talent.
The time and effort this guy put in this one project is just crazy. AMAZING job there man. If you ever want to sell this, i really hope a museum will offer you a big money.
Just advice to make it more beautyful.. 1. Every one lane (from top to bottom) has a different collor from other lane.. 2. Every lane has a diferent collorful ball.. 3. U can make epoxy ball using resin, and give some fosfor to make it glow.. Thx..
Amazing! Billiard balls on a pool table to "break" or some other tricky shot? Scaled up with bowling balls and ten pins at the end? Oh my! You've got me thinkin' at 3 AM in a nursing home. Thanks
I've said it before, but every one of your creations out-matches the previous one. This one is literally a masterpiece. I bow in respect to the master. Good job! p.s. The videography is outstanding. Kudos to your video guy as well.
Thanks Michael. I strive to create something interesting in each piece and this commission allowed for something even greater! Thanks for the comments about the videography... I do all the filming myself. :-)
David Morrell Amazing! Your artwork is constantly evolving. How do you build them? I want to try, I'm all thumbs when it comes to anything requiring manual dexterity (last time I tried to wash a tea cup I burnt the house down) but i'd still like to give it a go! I'm guessing you use stainless steel rods and form them into the intricate trackwork. Do you solder them together with a normal electronic soldering iron?
Whoe. That is freakin amazing. There is so much going on in that sphere. Its min boggeling. Its like it can put you in a trance. Super cool doesnt even give the words it deserves. I haveto agree with legendary
An amazing work of mechanical art. How do you make your wire runs so precise in their three dimensions, especially the matching left and right wires in a single run?
If you made an upper half to the tracks.. You could come up with a design that incorporated the larger ball rolling.. Then you could put it on a treadmill... Would be cool...you would need to plan your tracks to work both ways though... Interesting little project for you..
this is awsome. all the skill is in one space...besides, the material is so hard and not easy to shape..the loop is amaing...i can stay half day to observe it ....llove it so much..it is art.
absolutely mesmerizing and therapeutic, as far as just letting the senses go and has a real affect on relaxing mind. You mind telling me how long it took to do the actual build? I'm sure you've been asked this a thousand times. I have a 100 questions but I'll just ask one. lol. Gonna show my daughter this when I get back home tomorrow. Thx!
THis is amazing ! I was mesmerized ... transfixed.. in awe of this incredible piece of art .. I have a question .. is it in perpetual self sustaining motion .. or at some point will the balls come to a stop? .. Wow.. really a pleasure to come across this today ! : ]
Thanks for the awesome comment. The sculpture continually operates as there is a motor that turns the helical lift. Switch off the motor and the marbles will eventually finish their run.
FANTASTIC!!! I want 2 ! 1 as is and the other painted a flat black and the balls painted in color that a black light would pick-up! Put on some Pink Floyd, smoke some bud, and trip ✌
I love it I watched this a while back and it just popped into my head when I sister was looking at the marbles in the fish tank and I love it is just beautiful 💓
The loop series at 3:00 is amazing! How did you make that and angle it properly? I'm trying to create a similar loop for a school physics project. Any tips and advice about that loop would be awesome :)
Fine ! I have a friend who makes same ones, but with golf balls and nessarily less intricate and long. And he puts them on the sand in flying kites festivals. Some balls "disappear" from time to time but chidren never break them. They often gather the balls to let them go together and see how they separate according to switch points and meet again at the lower point.
To everyone that didn't like the music or wanted it turned down, why don't you go fabricate an amazing kinetic sculpture, shoot you own riveting video and you can leave the music in or out all you want! Being a critic is easy isn't!

How peaceful it would be to watch that kinetic sculpture on a quiet evening....

An amazing piece of engineering. So very clever. The concept of mounting all of it in a ball on a floor to ceiling pole makes it a real artwork.
Thanks!!
The sheer magnitude and complexity of design, planning, angle calculations, mathematics, construction time, and the emotional investment of blood, sweat, and tears involved are beyond my imagination.
very cool! I bet this would look neat with glow in the dark balls under a black light.
i was also thinking about this. in a dark room, using glowing marble.
UV led strips on the inside of the large support rings and use uranium glass marbles.
That's the great idia.....

Stunning piece of work. Beautiful, creative, and incredibly clever, all at once. Amazing.
This one is mind blowing. So many new track sections. Fantastic job!
This is an incredible feat of imagination, construction and art all rolled into one. It’s brilliant. 👍🇬🇧

Crazy how with all the forces in the ball's motion it never falls out. Awesome art!

Took a few months to build. Most components are made on the workbench and then added.

Any part of it. Silly people may think that they are funny and try to bend part of the track thus creating havoc.

Really cool, riveting kinetic sculpture that also looks great as an aesthetic decor element to a modern home.
WOW! Now THAT is IMPRESSIVE!!! I cannot even IMAGINE the TIME and EFFORT and THOUGHT that went into this AMAZING work of ART!!!
