ALPAKA Zip Clutch Review: Too Minimal for Me??

  • The ALPAKA zip clutch works as a wallet or as a very small edc bag that you can carry on its own or within a larger bag. I love the idea of this clutch, but for me with the items I need to carry, it’s difficult to make it work.
    Let me know what you guys think! Would this work for you?

      Thanks for the feedback! Well if you use it as a wallet instead of as a small clutch it may work better for you than it did for me🤷🏻‍♀️

    been using it as a wallet for months, card on inside sleeves and bills in the main zipper, coins keys and sanitizer on the secondary zipper, and phone on phone sleeve

      Sounds like it’s working for u! It’s not too tight with all that in there? Your keys must be minimal, I would think.

    Great review. You really showcased well how things fit.. or don't fit. I was thinking about getting one of the alpaka pouches during their 4th of July sale, but ended up not, as I wasn't quite sure how how well they packed out.

      Thanks so much! Yeah this is one of those products, for me, that works better in theory and in my head than it does in real life🤪

    I have the same issue. It looks great but you can’t really use all the pockets Al at the same time. And if you want to try, you really need to be intentional and plan ahead. If they had a.5cm - 1cm gusset that would make it so much more useful. This one’s a bit more form over function.

    I just got one of these a few days ago. I basically use it as a personal “go bag” that I can shove into my pocket or backpack. The pouch has things like my meds, a flashlight, a multi tool, and hygiene items in it. I keep my pocket knife, phone, and wallet separate. I agree with you that getting stuff to fit inside is kinda annoying. But it being one big compartment means small items like my meds have a space and can’t fall out. So it works for me in that regard.
    I haven’t noticed the imprinting thing on my pouch. But I just got it so I’ll have to keep an eye on it.

    • @Enjoyyourcarry
      @Enjoyyourcarry  11 месяцев назад

      That sounds like a much better way to utilize the clutch than the way I was trying to use it. Yes let me know if the imprinting happens to u! It only took a couple days for that to happen to mine.

    nice review.
    it helped me with what i wanted it for - passport when travelling.
    sick of all these thick unnecessary wallets, basically just want a passport sleeve with RFID and space for tickets, maybe a random other thing. this is perfect. not too big, not too small, like the zip pocket addition.
    (and aussie too which is nice)

      This comment is for the ALPAKA zip clutch? It doesn’t have rfid protection, but the passport wallet that i reviewed does!🤷🏻‍♀️

    I use it as a wallet, don't see the point of putting the wallet inside. Also a great replacement for a passport wallet when travelling. I'd rather keep my phone out of it for easy access, so it's easier the the passport (travel) or a small notebook (day to day). It bulks easily, but I think you need to approach it as a more complex wallet, rather than a small case.

    • @Enjoyyourcarry
      @Enjoyyourcarry  7 месяцев назад +1

      I agree. It bulks super easily and should have been advertised as just a large/travel wallet. It’s advertised showing AirPods and a phone and other edc items, but it just wouldn’t work at all for that, for me.

    • @rcleme

      @@Enjoyyourcarry that's one of the alpaka ad tricks: they show a lot of things going into their EDCs, but always with cuts. That gives the impression that these things are going together, and not separately with other contents to balance. It's not just alpaka that does this, BTW. Anyways, alpaka is still head and shoulders above competition, so I'll allow cheating and base my purchases on independent video reviews

    • @Enjoyyourcarry
      @Enjoyyourcarry  7 месяцев назад

      @rcleme yeah it frustrates me a little when things don’t fit the way they make it seem, but there are a couple products from them that I have really loved.

    The wallet depth is only 1cm. It would be good if Alpaka adjust it to 2cm

    I have the smaller one, lovely case but can’t fit anything in it. I also have the Aer clutch and it has a similar space problem. The amount of things you can carry as opposed to the bulk of the vessel it does not make sense. The objects become secondary to the vessel. Lovely cases but terrible at carrying things. Get a case to suit what you want to carry rather than buying a lovely bag that does not suit. In opposition a Chums wallet is light and flimsy but carries a lot of things easily and very practical but does not have the wow factor that an Alpaka or Aer vessel has.

      A regular size phone fits without an issue. A max phone is tight but could squeeze in, easier with no case.

      I supposed so. I know you don't think too highly of the pouch, but I kinda like the way it looks. And I think it would be perfect for me, since I only like to carry around a few essentials. Great review, by the way. & thanks for the input.
